Palms at El Camino

Shabby, run-down, tired-looking establishment with broken furniture and roped-off pool area. No staff on hand to greet for check-in or check-out.

What a great little gems of a place in Oalm Desert. Cute…quiet…and a quick walk to El Paseo. We will definetly be back!!

It’s important to understand that this property is under renovation and doesn’t have a lot of staff on hand. As of right now, there is no office. To check in, they send you a text message the day of your stay telling you to go to a specific room to check in. This wasn’t a bad process, I waited for a few minutes until the supervisor checked me in and gave me the key. He was super nice upon meeting. The room was spacious and clean, full kitchenette, wifi. I had everything I needed and enjoyed my stay. That said, checking out was somewhat stressful and disappointing. I wasn’t sure where to turn in the key and needed a receipt to submit this trip as a business expense, which I explained via text to the supervisor. I sent three text messages and got left on read. I would have appreciated a response, even if it had been hours after the fact. I also never got that receipt, not even through email. I did truly enjoy my stay here so the lack of communication when I needed assistance surprised me.

With one room left to spare for the night I managed to rent the night for a bargain. It honestly beats best western and had a full kitchen and was cozy. We did not cook, but it was nice having a full-size refrigerator and stove as an amenity. Slight bummer that the garbage disposal did not work. The microwave was very difficult to use. The shower head knob was a one of a kind knob a little tricky. I was really excited about the pool come to find out that it was closed due to some sort of hazard. ⚠️ Lastly, the huge hole in the closet was a little eerie.

Weird check in status. I understand they’re renovating but not even an office to check into was weird. Text messages sent to tell when I showed up. Got a blank no logo key card to open my room. Place was surprisingly amazing inside, basically an apartment with all utensils stove oven microwave pots pans full fridge was not expecting that. Jacuzzi was ice cold didn’t bother going in. Bed was comfy, TV was streaming services so hopefully guests have logins.

We had some difficulty finding the office to check in as they are renovating the units. Once we were able to contact the the right person we received our key. We were pleasant ly suprised by our room, nice large room with kitchen and pool side

The actual room was nice, bed was comfortable, towels were nice, and room seemed clean. Looks like it was a converted studio apartment with a kitchen, newly remolded but with a terrible paint job. The property was surrounded by apartments, no issues with the area. Folks walking their dogs in the morning. We got there late (after 10pm) and we had someone meet us at the room which was hard to find. We had to call to locate the property because there was absolutely no signage and no official office (no website either). No formal check-in or check out, it was all done by phone. A nice young man met us at the room and handed us a physical key. It looked like they were in the process of adding a card key entry so don't know how secure the door actually was on the first floor. We had to wait for extra linens for the pull out for my son and we're only given a single sheet to cover the mattress along with a quilt and pillow. He was tired though and didn't care. One small trashcan for a unit with a kitchen (did not use), no hairdryer (no big deal but would have brought one had I known). There were nice decorative touches and as I said, bed was comfortable which was appreciated.

The people like Armondo and Andras? were kind, helpful, proud of their work place, care for their clients. They were awesome

The property is being renovated and the staff was very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Looking forward to when the renovation is complete!
