We have just spent a week at the Avanti Village, having stayed in the Avanti Hotel twice previously (before we had children) we decided to go with the village now we were returning with our children aged 10 & 7. The rooms are basic but are nice and big (it could have been a little cleaner) small nag was there were only 1 pillow allocated each, I suppose we could have requested more but didn’t. The air con leaked water in the bedroom and sometimes woke me up with the dripping! We were located at the far end of the village by the Fiesta Bar at the back entrance, I thought this was going to be a problem when reception first showed us on the map but it fact the positioning was perfect for us and it meant that no one walked past your bedroom window and it was nice and quiet, we had a lovely lemon tree in the garden and a seating area that got some nice late afternoon sun so could dry off swim stuff etc. The pool was good, it wasn’t as cold as some pools and we never struggled getting in. The kids loved the variety of the pool, the different areas with different water levels/waterfall, volley net, and rock area, they also loved the swim up bar! The buffet breakfast was good, it served decent bacon and sausages, fried eggs, scrambled, mushrooms, beans, porridge and some ham/cheese and small salad selection. Also pancakes which the kids loved, with Nutella. 2 toast machines and nice little rolls too. There was yoghurt and fruit too but the only little thing missing for me was nuts, I thought a little selection of those to go with cereal/porridge would have been great. The staff at the restaurant are excellent, nothing is too much trouble for them, the manager lady is awesome. We had lunch in there several times too and this was perfect. Reasonably priced and a decent quality. We had chicken gyros on our last day and I wish we’d had this sooner! It was lovely! The pool bar area is good too and serves a decent quality of drinks, the guys behind there work hard and serve up good drinks. Pool towels are supplied (which I hadn’t read anywhere about this before hand) and you can change them daily between 10-11am by the gym area. There is a fantastic little restaurant/bar called Kalua just outside the village next to the Fiesta bar. We went in there 4 times, once for a quality Mediterranean meal, lots of lovely tapas dishes and perfectly served cocktails, in wonderful glasses, it was just quality in there that we went back a few more times just to have some decent drinks. The village is around 35 min walk to the harbour, I ran this every morning and it’s 7km there and back. Now let’s talk about cats! There are lots of cats in Paphos, and there are a nice little family of kittens at the hotel, the kids ABSOLUTELY loved them, all of the kids and families alike. But I can imagine if you are scared of cats Paphos could be a bit of a problem for you because they are everywhere and in most restaurants. We aren’t particularly cat people although my 2 kids fell
