Hotel berhampiran Bercy Park, Paris

The room was very neat and well kept. The lighting looked very pretty and it was very good room for a budget hotel. I was completely satisfied with the experience. The room was also cleaned every day which was very good. It also had air conditioning that was excellent as Paris was very hot during my stay. It was located next to a shopping centre(Bercy 2) this was very convenient for me as I was able to get all that was needed inside there. The staff were okay. They were a bit passive aggressive but they did help. I didn’t hear of this 50 euros deposit which I was afraid of when booking this hotel. Instead I paid 4.02 euros as city tax which is understandable as I am staying in Paris. There was also a wonderful pizza shop which was shared with a bakery down the road from the hotel which had amazing pizza and great customer service. Even though the man couldn’t speak any English he was very pleasant. In terms of location, this hotel has a very good public transportation connections with bus stops within walking distance of the hotel which take you to the metro and the metro can take you across Paris. French public transportation was very easy to use and inexpensive. Even though, I felt some passive aggression in my time in France(which I believe is how french people are), I was completely satisfied with my experience and would recommend to people on a budget looking for hotels in Paris with good transportation connections.

Im groben und Ganzen ok. Vom Flughafen Orly gut gelegen. Die Zimmer typisch Französisch klein. Was halt schade ist, man teilt sich das Gebäude mit dem Ibis Budget, wenn man ne Schulklasse oder so im Hotel eingebucht hat, wird es schnell ziemlich laut.

My husband and I stayed in a Superior Double Room for two days at the beginning of March. We had a wonderful view of the park and the Eiffel Tower. The room is beautiful to look at, but a little damaged in some parts (for example the shower). The biggest problem of the room was the ventilation system, as it smelled of the drain several times. The cleaner does her job, as she cleans the room daily, but the problem is exclusively ventilation. I might also point out that you can hear the chairs being moved in the bar in the room. I would also suggest that a different choice of breakfast be made every day, as it was the same breakfast twice. However, I would like to conclude by praising the staff, who were friendly at all times.

Yes, rooms are very small by US standards, smaller than the smallest room I saw at the College Park (Atlanta Airport) Econo Lodge. However, they are twice as big as what they call “single rooms” in London’s budget hotels, which are half way between the traditional English phone booth and a small US closet, where you sleep in a tiny 90 centimeters army cot WITHOUT AC for the price you pay at the Los Angeles LAX Sheraton! At this CHOICE COMFORT HOTEL PORTE D’IVRY at least, you will sleep in a double bed in a small but clean room WITH AC, tiny desk and phone, and a full bath with the biggest shower (3 times bigger) that I’ve ever seen in Europe, together with the one of room 823 at the Orly Best Western Plus, which is the same size. It also has a sink with a hair dryer and a private “wishing well”, the greatest invention of mankind… Those amenities such as a big refrigerator, microwave, iron and ironing board that I always see in all CHOICE HOTELS (whether Comfort Inn, Quality Inn, Clarion, etc.) in the US for around $100 with buffet breakfast included, are just a dream in Europe, so forget about it! I’ll say the same about the ice machine, which we find even in cheapest motels, and sometimes on every floor in high-end hotels like the Clarion. Forget it! The only place where I have seen an ice machine outside of the US was at the Gran Hotel Argentino in Buenos Aires, after I harassed the manager during more than seven years asking for it during every trip in the 1990s! THE MAIN ASSET of this Comfort Hotel Porte d’Ivry is its LOCATION. A short 4 blocks walk will put you at “Porte d’Ivry”, where you will see the terminal of bus 27 to go to “Quartier Latin”, “Notre-Dame”, “Opéra” and “Gare Saint-Lazare”, and also the terminal of bus 83, which will take you to “Port Royal” and “Sèvres-Babylone”. At the same “Porte d’Ivry”, you will also see the “Métro” (subway) line 7 going from “La Courneuve” in the north of Paris to “Mairie d’Ivry” in the south. If you enjoy traveling underground, this line will take you straight to “Chatelet” and “Opéra”. But I prefer to do that journey with bus 27. Last but not least, at that “Porte d’Ivry”, you will be able to take TRAM 3a, which circles Paris on the south and will take you from “Pont du Garigliano” on the west, to “Porte de Vincennes” on the east, where you will be able to take TRAM 3b, which circles Paris on the north side, and will take you to “Porte de la Chapelle”, where you will be able to take bus 350 to Roissy CDG. And if you fly to Orly, as I do with Iberia via Madrid, now that American Airlines have discontinued their nonstop flights 62 and 63 between Miami and Paris, then you can take the ORLYBUS and get off at the first stop in Paris, by my beloved Cité Universitaire, where I lived the best five years of my long life in the 1960s, then walk a block to “Montsouris” and take TRAM 3a to “Porte d’Ivy”, only six stations away. Kleines Touristenhotel mit rund 25 Zimmern. Das Hotel liegt in 2 Min. Fussweg zur U-Bahnstation Pernety, was sehr praktisch ist. Die Zimmer im Hotel sind jedoch sehr klein. In unserem Zimmer hatte es kaum eine Ablagefläche, geschweige denn einen richtigen Schrank. Rund um das Bett 30 - 80 cm, das wars… Die Dusche war ok; für die Duschkabine darf man aber keine Platzangst haben. Eine enge Treppe führt in die Obergeschosse; der Lift ist ebenfalls klein. Der grösste Mangel im Hotel ist aber der Frühstücksraum. Für eine solche Anzahl Hotelzimmer nur 22 Sitzplätze -＞ das genügt einfach nicht. Es kann nicht sein, dass man morgens um 8.30 Uhr zum Frühstück will und dann fast eine Stunde in der Hotel-Lobby warten muss. Das Frühstück selber ist relativ spartanisch. Das Hotelpersonal dürfte auch freundlicher und kompetenter sein, angefangen bei Receptionspersonal bis hin zur Bedienung im Frühstücksraum. Alles in allem kann man dort bei einem Städtetrip übernachten - bedingungslos empfehlenswert, na ja….

You pay for a five star hotel, but you get a pretty crummy hostel experience. We had two rooms. One smelled fine, the other smelled so bad we had to get someone from staff to come smell it. They said it was “technical” and sprayed room spray. Something about the walls. They toured us through a second room but it smelled just as bad. The safe in the room was broken. In the other room the sink was clogged, a light was broken, and the fridge didn’t work. At 12:35 AM, all the lights in one of the rooms turned on randomly waking up the kids. We brought this up the next day and the woman at the front desk cringed as if she knew that was an issue. It didn’t happen the next night thankfully. Then came Friday night. It’s basically a club on the first floor until midnight. Good luck sleeping. All this at a thousand euros per night. Laughably bad experience. Only redeeming qualities are the location and some of the staff who seem to have been dealt a bad hand with this property and should go take their talents somewhere else. Don’t stay here.

all are fine, especially there is capsule coffee machine for us. 2 metro can be accessed within 2 minutes and 1 more can accessed in5 minutes. only the carpets seems not so good

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. Spent 4 nights in this hotel and had good experience. Room was small but sufficient for a good night sleep after long hours or walking in the city. Everything is clean. Staff are lovely and friendly. Check in and check out fast. Breakfast decent with almost everything, and we will like it more if there are more vegetables. Location is great enough for us since we can get to almost every major sites within 30 minutes with subway. The area outside the hotel under some construction but it doesn’t affect our nights. Totally recommend if price keeps being competitive.
