Hotel du Lion

Across the street from Denfert-Rochereau; super convenient for airport arrivals and departures (RER B, Orlybus). The hotel staff was friendly and attentive, and the room was clean. The neighborhood is pleasant though a bit far from central Paris (but close to transit). You have to leave your card key at the front desk whenever you go out. My only complaints were that the wifi did not reach my room (I had to use my mobile hotspot instead) and that the shower was so tiny I could barely raise my arms in it (and I'm thin). But I stayed in a very small single room; doubles may not have this problem. Also, the bathroom overhead light casts shadows in the mirror; I found it better to use the full-length mirror by the window instead.

I stayed here solo for 1 night on recommendation by my daughter/son-in-law. I chose it because it is on the RER B train line direct from CDG and close to Gare Montparnasse where I catch the TGV home to southern France. I was really happy with it. As all hotels in Paris, it’s small. But there is plenty of room to walk around the bed - a win compared to some hotels! I stayed on 4th floor and with my earplugs that I always wear, was so quiet that I slept till 11:00 am the next day! The bed and pillows were comfy; I didn’t even use my own travel pillow. The bathroom is tiny but it contains a nice sink with space for toiletries, a shower in tub, and toilet - all you need. The front desk attendants were nice and helpful. A guest was there when I was asking for help to get my 47 pound bag down the initial 20 steps to the outside entrance (there is an elevator to the rooms, up 3 steps) and helped me carry it downstairs. So absolutely kind of her! On my arrival, a male staff had carried it up those 20 steps to the reception. I LOVE the area around the hotel. There are numerous restaurants and breakfast spots open all hours. Across the street from the hotel is a walking street that contains a cheese shop, fruit shops, meet shops, plus Moroccan and a lovely bakery. So much to explore! Between the hotel and the train station is a taxi lineup plus multiple bus lines. It’s a perfect location to stay. I will definitely stay here again on my many runs up to Paris.

Exceptionally clean rooms, halls and stairwells. Helpfull and considerate staff as always. Metro right outside the hotel with number 4 and 6 lines. These connect to other lines giving ease of travel to all parts of Paris.

The connection with city center was the best and nice cafes, supermerkets in the area. Ideal connection with Orly Airport directly with Orly bus or RERB and Orlyval. The metro is just at the door of the hotel.

I stayed for three nights in Hotel du Lion. We had a nice room with view on the EiffelTower. The room was very small but was clean and ok. The staff was very nice and helpful. Location is perfect, metro in front of the hotel and really nice shopping/restaurant street across the hotel: Rue Daguerre. Also a really nice bakery across the street. The only two things I really missed were a mnibar fridge and a waterkettle for coffee or tea in the room. And two glasses and two teacups instead of papercups.

Hotel du Lion is in a fabulous location for visiting Paris. In a lively area with so many amenities and points of interest, and just a short bus/metro ride from the Ile de la Cité. There are many cafés, restaurants, Boulangerie, fruit shops, wine shops and mini-supermarkets along the lovely pedestrian Rue Daguerre and all around. And excellent transport links by bus/metro and to the airports. My new favourite place to stay in Paris!

Clean, convenient, great choice for a quick visit to Paris. Convenirntly locayed on the place Denfert Rochereau, rooms are comfortable and quiet. Special mention for the Eiffel Tower view from the balcony, and good breakfast. The big plus, convenient transportation options for visiting the city and getting to and from the airport.

Acceptable. Very good value for money. No electric kettle in room and elevator to reception. Very friendly and helpful all staff. The room was very hot, no air conditioning or fan. Several things could be improved.

All the people at the counter provided an excellent service. The hotel is located in a very accommodating place. The only thing, which is common in Paris, is that the elevator is located at the first floor.
