I choose this hotel due mostly due its location, despite I believe it is overpriced for the overall experience I thought I'd give it a try and booked a deluxe room with view on the Madeleine; location is good and generally staff is polite and helpful. I called before arriving to the hotel asking if they could avoid the first floor, and was told it was not a problem as all the corner of the building had the same view and category. Upon check in we were assigned to the first floor and when I asked about getting another room I was told by front office that my room was the only one in the category and that those above were a different category. This is absolutely not true and of course when reception staff is not telling the truth just to cover a mistake it put me in a bad mood, they could simply say that the other rooms were already occupied, but the staff preferred not telling the truth instead of admitting genuine mistake. Next morning at breakfast I immediately understand why there were several comments about it, it was correct but basic for international travellers; I am aware that each county has different breakfast but as I was living in Paris for a few years, knowing the standard in the city I found breakfast indeed quiet basic. We noticed that they served only one type of sliced meat and that was ham (pork), at that point we asked reception if they could provide alternative meat for people who did not eat pork, not based on religion but simply for a matter of choice and health. All hotels providing sliced meat at breakfast do always provide at least one alternative and usually it is sliced chicken. Of course our request was denied and despite we were staying for three days and therefore they cold have arrange to have some for next next day as a kind gesture, by showing flexibility and easily solve the problem why making the guests happy they decided to stick on inflexibility and not to take any action. On top of it there were two warm items , scramble eggs and bacon and we noticed that some of the bacon (accidentally) ended up in the scramble eggs, like it can happen in those shaving dished when people are serving themselves. What should a person who is used to savoury breakfast eat when not eating pork? The worst part is that when the manager replied to my written complain about eh breakfast part she replied that they do not offer Halal products because they want to be religion neutral... At NO point we mentioned religion nor asked for Halal but simply to a diet choice and allergy, which is even regulated by EU. Just small example to see that the staff is not communicating correctly as they passed on the wrong info to the manager as the reason behind our request was different, but then again only one type of meat...? The worst part was that after the first night I started to have back pain, which increased on the second night and finally last night I could hardly sleep, after swapping bed side (there were two single mattress on a d
