If you go to Chongzuo, and price is not a barrier, the LUX Resort is the only one worth considering—offering the best views, service, food, and amenities in the region. From the moment you arrive, it is clear that this resort sets itself apart through thoughtful design, exceptional hospitality, and a deep respect for both nature and guests.
We stayed in rooms 1301 and 1302, both king-size bed rooms with what I believe are among the best views in the entire resort. Waking up to the dramatic karst landscape and tranquil surroundings was unforgettable, and the rooms themselves were spacious, elegant, and perfectly maintained.
The dining experience was outstanding, both at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast featured a high-quality buffet with premium ingredients and a wide variety of options, while dinner from the à la carte menu was equally impressive in execution and flavor. Special recognition must go to the service staff—凌海艳、农汶燕、邓桂姣—whose attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism elevated every meal. Their service was genuinely memorable.
On our first evening, Chef Long (龙大厨) personally came out to greet us, which was a wonderful and thoughtful touch. One dish in particular stood out: the handmade tofu pot. Using such a simple ingredient, the dish was surprisingly delicate, tender, and deeply flavorful—an excellent example of how great technique can transform humble ingredients into something exceptional.
The spa and relaxation experience was equally seamless. 农丽芳, from the spa service team near the common relaxation area, thoughtfully arranged a battery car service for us, making transitions around the resort smooth and effortless.
Overall, the LUX Chongzuo Resort delivers excellence on every level—accommodation, views, cuisine, service, and amenities. It is not just a place to stay, but a destination in itself. If you are seeking the best Chongzuo has to offer, LUX is truly in a class of its own.

KKLimTo put things in perspective, accomodation in the area is quite expensive, so this accomodation is rather value for money. The 鱼鳞坝, one of the sights is just a stone's throw away which make it very convenient. Breakfast is super simple. Room is clean and AI enabled. Reception is very polite, even coming out to help get our luggage from the cab and show us to our room. Oh, be prepared to wake early by roosters if u are a light sleeper and maybe some mozzies in the room. It is the countryside no matter what.

The hotel owner, Shaowei was there to help us in every possible way. She brought us to see the panoramic view of Mingshi Tianyuan with her own expenses. She also took us to another place to watch native people’s dance, sing and bonfire after dinner. She also helped me to catch a local bus to another town. Her kindness was simply beyond my expectations. If I come back to Mingshi, the reason will be not the town itself, but Shaowei.
2. Flawless cleanness
Everything looked to be built just now. Clean, comfortable and tidy. No smell of cigarette or whatsoever.
3. Decent breakfast
Breakfast is simple but the taste is good. You can enjoy rice noodle, rice porridge and fruits with good tea and soy milk.
4. Great location
The hotel is located close to the bus station and you can get on any local bus passing by easily. Good restaurants are everywhere nearby as well.

PPengguna TetamuThe best thing about this place are the owners. Full of initiative and kindness, I am very appreciative of their initiative services.
For example, they asked if I already had transportation for my next destination, then how much I was quoted. Then they said that was a fair price if it was right to the hotel, to just check and verify if it is so. This is a very helpful guidance for out-of-towners.
The room is clean, and after 4 days of travel in the area, it is the only one that doesn't have any lingering smells of cigarette smoke. It is hard to find rooms like these, including rooms that claim to be smoke-free.
The view from the room is great and it is nice to watch the birds fly over the border river. Birds are not constrained by fences.
Bottles of water are provided, as are disposable towels, which I'm not a fan of, as well as soap, shampoo and so on. There is no separation of wet/dry areas, but slippers are provided.
You may not get the best photos in such a homestay, but it is functional and practical, and everything works well, drainage and so on, which is more important. I would stay here again and I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

EE. Ch.Great experience at the Pubu Qing hotel. The hotel exceeded my expectations for sure.
The location is great as mentioned by other reviewers. My room was on the 6th floor on the back of the building. It had a window overlooking another building (in a ”development” stage ;-). It was surprisingly quiet. The air conditioning was efficient and silent. The bed was comfortable and the room was large enough and had even a small table as well as a desk. No fridge. Enough power outlets to plug my devices. The toilet/bathroom is small but not tiny. There was a bit of a smell but that happens and it did not bother me. Closing the bathroom door was enough not to get the smell in the room.
The owner helped me recharge the electric motorbike and that was a great plus. Also he purchased the entry ticket to the price for me (as mentioned by other reviewers). Friendly, efficient and very helpful.
There are quite a few shops around and even if there is not a lot of food variety there are plenty of eating places to choose from. Prices are reasonable and I personally found the quality to be fine.
Should I be back to the Detian falls I will stay at the Pubuqing for sure. Simple. Wallet friendly and so convenient with great service.

EEatPrayTravelLocation of hotel is very convenient for travelers who take the tourist bus from either Chungzuo, Nanning or from Detian waterfalls scenic area. The room we booked had a nice view of the fields and karst mountains. What a beautiful sight to behold indeed. During the day, it can get noisy with all the comings and goings in the village and all around but at night, it was very quiet. The rooftop terrace was very nice and not busy when we were there. Breakfast was enjoyable with steamed buns, corn, soup noodles and boiled sweet potatoes- a healthy start for a very busy day. The very nice lady in charge of breakfast offered us breakfast on our check in day (we arrived at 10:30) and made sure we had enough to eat before sending us off to explore! We had never met a B&B operator who was so caring and generous. On our check out day, even though she was still busy with guests, she rushed out to bid us a fond farewell and a safe onward trip. Front desk and cleaning team were all very friendly, always smiling and helpful. All in all, a very warm and pleasant stay at Mingshi Scenic Area.
