PPengguna TetamuMy stay at the Catalonia El Pilar was nothing short of exceptional. This hotel has a charm and quality that far exceeds its official four-star rating, and I firmly believe it deserves a fifth star.
From the moment I entered, I was struck by the beautiful, character-filled decor. The hotel masterfully blends historic charm with modern comfort, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. This sense of character extends to the rooms, which are impeccably clean and spacious.
The excellence began at check-in with the wonderfully helpful and efficient receptionist service. Every staff member I encountered was professional and genuinely dedicated to ensuring a perfect stay.
The breakfast was another highlight, offering a wide and delicious selection of hot and cold items that provided the perfect start to each day of exploration.
It is clear that the management is doing an excellent job. The seamless operation, the motivated staff, and the meticulous attention to detail throughout the property speak volumes about their leadership.
A final note on the location: Zaragoza itself is an amazing city, a captivating blend of history, culture, and vibrant local life. For better or worse, it remains wonderfully off-the-beaten-track for the majority of travelers, making it a truly authentic Spanish discovery.
Combining this incredible city with a hotel of such high caliber makes for an unforgettable trip. I would not hesitate to return and cannot recommend the Catalonia El Pilar highly enough

PPengguna TetamuSuper location. The room is big with a great view of the basilica. Breakfast is good. I must mention the receptionist Elina who is so friendly, helpful and charming. It is like in a 2 star hotel where you find a 5 star hotel receptionist, The B&B hotel ought to reward her 'best employee of the year' in my view.

The downside was that the swimming pool was closed completely in October despite warm weather and worst of all - we were charged EUR 1.90 for a tiny quantity of fresh milk to add to our morning coffee - that’s embarrassing for a hotel like Melia.

Las habitaciones con los muebles justos y necesarios, estilo IKEA, con dos camas y dos pequeñas mesas como mesitas de noche, y una TV. Eso si nuevos. El baño antiguo, no está reformado.
Se nota que es un hotel para despedidas de soltero por el precio y la ubicación. Durante mi fin de semana no pararon de entrar y salir grupos de jóvenes con despedidas de soltero. Ruido infernal, borracheras mal llevadas e incluso vómitos en el pasillo.

JJavier y LunaUna ubicación excepcional, en la misma Plaza del Pilar, con vistas a la basílica. El servicio muy amables y atentos. Nosotros teníamos opción de desayuno y la verdad es que estaba muy bien. Un buen surtido de embutidos, y pastas.

MMiloDusty room (dust balls coming out from under the bed), very old bedding, mold on the shower walls, very dated in general.
On the first two floors the hotel hosts (illegal) immigrants. They're hanging out in the lobby area, the hallways and the cafeteria. This gives a rather uninviting atmosphere (although there were no troubles).
