SSimon & Kathleen ArmstrongWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stafford Guest House. The property is beautiful, set within peaceful surroundings and complemented by a lovely garden.
We stayed in the four-poster bedroom, which was spacious, tastefully decorated, and perfectly balanced comfort with a touch of luxury. It also offered delightful views overlooking the garden.
Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, providing engaging conversation as well as helpful local recommendations. Everything was clearly explained upon arrival, making the entire experience smooth and effortless from the very beginning.
Breakfast was both delicious and generous in portion. Additionally, there is a charming village pub just a short walk away — The Boot & Shoe Inn — which added to the experience.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

유유목찡The service was very kind, and the room was spotless. From the comfortable bedding to the open view, everything felt complete with nothing lacking. The breakfast was clean and well-prepared, and both the coffee and bread were excellent. Every piece of interior decor reflected the host’s attention to detail and care, making the entire space feel beautifully curated.

SSRI I.Host Vickie of Abbey House B&B definitely made our first trip to Penrith a truly memorable experience. She was prompt with our pre-arrival queries. We love our suite with the ”Thoughtful Drawer”, bathrobes and delicious breakfast spread. Bonus is also its convenient location to train and bus stations for day trip to Lake District as well as walking distance to village squares with quaint local-owned artisanal shops, markets, and diners. We wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights. Thanks Vickie! ❤️

PPengguna TetamuThe room was freezing! The heating only came on for a couple of hours. The room was ok comfy bedding, not worth £175 though. The shower made a squealing noise and the bath tap dripped all night. Breakfast alright (beans were cold). The staff at the bar and restaurant were commendable.

Whilst, having a timeless aspect ,magnificent historic building it has modern features, and aspects,that make it very comfortable.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaReally enjoyed my stay in Room 5 of this inn. There was ample parking for guests. The room was cosy and clean.
I especially loved the breakfast menu at this inn. Every night, you can fill up a form with your selection and in the morning, you just walk up to your assigned table and breakfast is served!

PPengguna TetamuAmongst the lakes, I thought Ullswater is the nicest in terms of view and serenity. Macdonald Leeming House has a peek view of the lake, together with a big grass patch. I opted to upgrade to a lake view room as the other side faces some shrubs, I was told.
Room size wise is decent. For the price, I expected a bit more amenities like shower cap and slippers.
The hotel was not receptive as there were no replies to my queries sent to the email listed on their website and through trip.com. When I clarified, the reception said the address I sent to were invalid?
I did not like the food at the Regency Restaurant. Options were limited and my ham steak was over salty.

PPengguna TetamuStayed here several times, even a couple of times when they had only just re opened following each of the Covid lockdowns and always enjoyed, had a fab welcome and the rooms are clean.
Not saying its perfect for everyone as some of you will not be a fan of the gold and red decor in the rooms , reception and corridors. But its not shabby its just old fashioned.
The bathrooms are moden and the bar and restaurant have had a face lift with a not ultra moden colour scheme of cream and blue but it suits the building style.
Dont expect spa, gym or pool and dont expect room service or cocktails.
But you will always get a warm and friendly welcome and service.
The setting is off the beat and track , but worth finding this gem, at the side of the woods , with stream running over waterfall and rock oh and keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels.
Food is good at breakfast though no veggie sausages which some did complain about, food is good value in the evening though a limited choice of 4 starters 4 mains and 4 puds including a veggie option. Yorkshire portions for the main and loads of veg.
Bar prices higher than pub prices but not that bad for a hotel.
