Hotel 2 Bintang di Parsippany

I have never written a hotel or motel review but feel compelled to warn others about what is essentially a dump. The photos I saw online were taken elsewhere and do not even remotely resemble the room I was stuck with for two days because the prepaid rate was reasonable, being ~20 minutes from the venue I was to see a concert at. Staying anywhere near the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Nj would have set me back hundreds of dollars which I could not afford. I took a number of photos because the room was THAT bad! The first problem when I entered the room was the stench of cigarettes (I specifically requested a NONSMOKING room). I arrived at ~3 a.m. and just wanted to immediately go to bed. When I pulled back the covers, I noticed the sheets looked old and wrinkled like they had been slept in and the bed just made. I quickly noticed an orange-colored stain once I pulled back the sheet. I pulled that sheet completely out of the bed and out of the way. I deliberately shoved the blanket away from me and set the temperature to 78 so I would only have to sleep on the flat sheet and not be cold. I later discover a dirt stain on the sheet on the opposite side of the bed. I called the desk (because the TV didn’t work) and was told it might be fixed the next day. It wasn’t and I requested a room with a working TV which I also did not get. After using the phone, which was set back in a cubby under a small bedside shelf, noticed how grimy the keypad looked, as if it had NEVER been cleaned. The next morning, I wanted to warm something for a light breakfast and noticed the microwave plug lying on top of an open dresser. I looked on each side of the dresser and even pulled it out from the wall only to find that there was NO outlet to plug it into. I had to carry it to the sink where I could plug it in. The photos speak for themselves. Any sign of even the most basic cleaning was absent. The room was not fit for a homeless person to sleep in! I was so distrustful of the staff that I packed up everything to go to my event the second day and dreaded having to return that night but I would have lost everything I paid for the room (~$130) and couldn’t afford to get another room. Aside from what I’ve already mentioned, the shower curtain had mold on it, the bottom of the tub looked dirty and the walls of the shower had a faint yellowish hue as if they hadn’t been scrubbed EVER. Lastly, after arriving at 3 a.m. the first night, an employee started knocking and banging on the door. I could hear him asking me to open the door, asked him what he needed because I was not yet up and after he ignored my question and continued banging on the door, just stopped even trying to convey anything to this person and ignored him completely so that he finally left. I later learned he was wanting me to sign papers!! I will never make that mistake again!!

Here's the list: WiFi didn't work in our room - during the entire stay. We mentioned it to the guy at the front desk and were told ”sometimes we have issues in the rooms. Try it again when you get upstairs.” No solution, no asking if we wanted a different room. We went out and when we returned, there was a different guy at the desk. Mentioned it to him, and he asked if we had tried using the directions that were TAPED TO THE FRONT DESK. No, we had tried using the directions given to us with the keys when we checked in. They were DIFFERENT. We were able to get on WiFi in the lobby but then it still didn't work in our room with either login. There was only 1 elevator working the entire time - which had been the case when we stayed there SEVEN MONTHS ago. The pool was ”being repaired” so it wasn't open. It looked fine, but unavailable to guests. The next morning the TV in our room wasn't working and it also wasn't working in the main room where breakfast is eaten. And finally, the shower head had water coming out of only 1 of 3 possible places. Thankfully we were both tall enough to reach the shower head to adjust it a bit. Not sure what you do if you're 5'2.

Anything you need they help. No worries, no problems. Quiet surrounding, and right near all major shopping and I loved the honesty and graceiousness from the staff. The bathroom was great and the room had a refrigerator and microwave!

Didn't notice until the top sheet was removed to reveal the comforter that there were many stains and some dirt that definitely could've been put in a washing machine for it not to be that dirty. Also with the sofa bed, the only issue was what looked like dried blood. Coming here the truth is the hairdryer kinda smelled like pee but maybe it's just how it smelled the room seems pretty ok and wiped down but it's crazy what's hidden under the top sheet I think this is the worst hotel I stayed at so far, with being generally clean, atleast my experience wasn't that great but I'm not sure if it's different for everyone else but this was my 1 night experience. Breakfast is fine. Idk i think for a hotel it should at least be sanitary enough to the point where we know what were sleeping in lol. Hope everyone reading has a wonderful day! I will definitely not be back here that's for sure

Tempat penginapannya hebat. Saya boleh mendapatkan suite satu bilik tidur & menghiasinya untuk hari lahir pasangan saya. Dia sangat teruja & menyukai bilik di mana kami berada. Saya pasti akan kembali & mengesyorkan hotel ini.

The hotel has improved a lot over the last few years. Daily housekeeping to tide up things is a nice touch for me. Most hotels have stopped since the pandemic years. Breakfast is decent. Offerings are fresh and adequate for business travelers and family. The bathroom is a little small but the king bed and pillows are very comfortable. Nice AC thermostat keeps the room nice and cool during the heatwave this week. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Will go back when I am in the area next time. Thank you!
