Iberostar Waves Herceg Novi - All Inclusive

We have traveled a lot around Montenegro and stayed in many hotels, this is the worst hotel of all that we have encountered in Montenegro! The hotel was chosen because the Iberostar has always been famous for its hotels, but this one is simply a disgrace for the Iberostar. 1) the location of the hotel - the hotel is on the outskirts, there is nowhere to walk! At the same time, the hotel is located in a mountainous area and you will be forced to walk up and down the stairs all the time in the heat. 2) food - at first it seems that everything is fine with it, but this is not so, there is a lot of food and this initially makes a good impression, but after 3 days it becomes clear that firstly the food is very tasteless, they cook disgustingly, only salads and desserts are tasty, the food is the cheapest, in a week we had expensive seafood 2 times. 3) the hotel itself - everything is old!!! and very cheap, the hotel needs to be updated.

It is an all inclusive hotel and they are not mean. The quality of food and drinks are better than expected. Worth the stay.

What a fantastic holiday we have just had. I write this review as we wait to be picked up. We really enjoyed the hotel. Food was good but you have to bear in mind they are catering not just for British but lots of Europeans. The entertainment staff were fantastic. They really do bring fun to the pool. All staff very helpful. Highly recommend the boat trip bay of kotor what a highlight. Wish we had took ourselves off to kotor ourselves for the day as it was beautiful.

We have just returned from 2 week stay here. We loved our holiday. We had an easy check in. Upon arrival we paid for the safe in the room and also the hotel/tourist tax. You have to pay a deposit for beach towels, which you get back at the end of your holiday. After sorting that out, we were escorted to our room. We booked a sea view room, which was definitely the right choice. The view is simply stunning. The room was quite spacious, but the bathroom was quite small. However it was perfectly adequate. The shower was fine. The room was lovely and clean. There is a mini bar, but it is empty. There is a water dispenser on each floor, which was available to use, apart from the last three days of our holiday. Something happened with the water dispensers and the soft drink dispensers at the bar, rendering them out of order. However they provided bottles of pop etc. for people to top up their drinks, as and when required. The food was ok apart from the fries and the pasta which was nearly always cold, even when they had just put them out. One day, even the sauce for the pasta was cold. Other than that though, we never really had any issues. There was, in our opinion a good choice. The restaurant was a bit like a canteen though. The ice cream was Italian and really good. This was available every meal time. The soft drinks were poor. Strangely, when the dispensers went down, they brought out the real branded bottles. The cocktails were very good and they even included mojitos and aperol spritz and they made them for you there and then, which to be fair we haven’t had included before in any other all inclusive hotel. We even had Havana Club rum one night! Though we only got served this one time. The staff were all polite and friendly, the animation team worked really hard and were always busy with some activities. They were never too pushy if you didn’t want to join in. The entertainment at night was ok, the usual really. Although there was a really good band on, who we saw twice, as the entertainment was on a rolling weekly basis. There is a lovely roof top bar, however sometimes you had to wait to get a seat. There is also a bar beneath the restaurant, this was very quiet, though nice to sit outside and look at the view. Then there is the main bar at the pool, sometimes entertainment was on, mostly though the entertainment was on at the beach bar. The pool was ok, not very big and a bit busy for us. We spent our time by the beach, which was much more peaceful. There is sunbeds on the shingles or the bathing platforms. We liked the access to the sea via the steps, as this meant you could avoid the stones and just get right into the water. The water was lovely and clear and very refreshing in the hot weather. There is a water taxi, which takes you over to Herceg Novi in about 10 minutes. They were very regular all day and it is 10 euro per person return, but you can use your ticket as many times as you want on the same day. We went over a couple o

Excellent hotel for the families, also for couples. Great variety of food and drinks. Nice beach bar, where you can eat lunch. Every night there is entertainment for guests. Hotel staff is very welcoming and friendly. There’s a Star camp for kids, staff is organizing activities every day. Hotel is situated on excellent location with a spectacular views from every spot. You can go to Herceg Novi by boat, five euros per person. From Herceg Novi you can get bus or taxi and visit beautiful Boka Kotorska. Certainly we will come back, because seven days is too short for this beautiful country.

The hotel overall was great as were the staff. The rooms need updating and they are more 3 star but overall the hotel is a 4 star. The food was good and we were happy with the varied range and quality. The views and private beach are amazing! The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way and we would hire a car next time but managed with bus and taxis. We had an amazing holiday especially since we got engaged! We would stay here again and would recommend it

We had a great time at the Iberostar Herceg Novi. This was our fifth Iberostar hotel and the first one outside of Spain so we had high expectations. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. Cleaning could have been a little better. Although we officially had a garden view we were on the end of Venera block with a partial view of the sea which was beautiful. Pool and other areas all very clean and well presented. Lots of loungers which meant that there was no competition and nobody reserving them early - a nice change. A great selection of food in the restaurant and overall tasty. Unfortunately this was let down at times - the fruit at breakfast and a few desserts came out frozen. We saw a restaurant manager picking an insect out of the yogurt and left the bowl. Restaurant waiting staff were very efficient and friendly. The four bars were well stocked and bar staff excellent. Thank you Ivana for the great pina coladas! As always, the animation team really make the holiday and this time was no exception. Thank you Varija for the great fitness sessions - 48 people in the pool for aqua gym is really impressive! Thank you to Dino, Can, Stario, Ruslan and the rest of the team for keeping us all entertained all day. It was really noticeable how well they got all the guests involved. The music festival on the last day of our holiday was a great way to end our stay. ⭐⭐

A great hotel in such a beautiful location. We were in the Luna block which is ideally placed to access the pool, bars etc. Not sure how I would have felt being in one of the accommodation blocks which are more set back. Great range of bars, we enjoyed the rooftop bar and beach bar. The beach bar buffet was good with food being readily replaced. Generally, the food in the restaurant was mediocre. It lacked variety and taste and was quite repetitive, even during a one week stay. The zoned swimming area was fine and the pontoon a great feature for people of all ages. Yes, there is no beach as such but that was fine. Take water / beach shoes though. Plenty of sun lounges, some reserved from the start of the day but not like in other resorts.
