A really lovely restaurant with welcoming staff, set in the heart of Pickering. A good menu offering local produce, relaxed atmosphere and efficient service. Fabulous Sunday evening. Parking available but limited. Would definitely visit again

A nice Inn with a lovely dining room on the Main Street in Pickering. Friendly staff and thoughtful with the little ones. Excellent starters especially the trout and crab. The children’s meals were brought with the starters which was good. The 2 children’s steak and chips were great. All the mains were great - the sea bream perfect and the 3 rump of lamb very moist and tasty. The only disappointment were the fondant potatoes. The lemon tart and rhubarb was excellent and the pavlova also very good. Overall a lovely evening.

My parents visited last week as a birthday treat for my dad’s 84th birthday, the staff, their room and the hotel were wonderful and really made their stay special - nothing was too much trouble! The hotel is perfectly situated for the steam train to Whitby.

The hotel's staff really shine - my wife even went as far as wondering if they all have a stake in its success (other than the obvious employment) - and helped ensure our stay was extremely enjoyable. Rooms were comfortable and very clean with the provision of a mini fridge (& daily water) an excellent addition. Breakfast choice was broad & very tasty. Would certainly stay at the White Swan again if ever in the area.

We had a 2 night stay - very enjoyable. Room excellent; the chaise longue very attractive but not easy for an 88 year old to get out of ! The staff soon found an additional chair to make life easier. The food & staff were second to none - we hope to return.

I booked four rooms for four nights, for a small group of people I work with. All who stayed were happy with their rooms, comfort and general condition. We ended up eating in the restaurant for three nights in a row as the selection and quality kept us all coming back. I book and stay in a lot of different hotels and the price point I'd say this one provides a slightly above average experience, as somebody who doesn't usually bother writing reviews I feel I should with the White Swan as it's rare a place ticks boxes right across the board for multiple people in a party. Usually at least one person has a negative experience or problem with a room etc. Not here. One last mention must go out to the staff, who were all bar none above average, personable and friendly. The frontline staff can often make or break an experience, the team here couldn't have done better. Many thanks!

This is a review for the food only High prices, food looks ok but dont have the duck. Comes with wilted veg, old broad beans, no sauce Service was good No choice or giving tip, 10% taken The bill was £95 We were there 45 mins Exprensive protentious rubbish

We went for food and drinks only as stayed elsewhere. The staff were really friendly and helpful, Millie is a real asset to the establishment and we ended up having dinner and also breakfast every morning (long weekend). There are several rooms and a cosy bar, the restaurant at the back is also lovely. The food was delicious and we were very impressed. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Definitely go back to The White Swan.

The White Swan is an old hotel with lots of character. We spent two nights in a lovely room on the second floor of the main building. We had dinner in the hotel on both nights and the food was excellent. The staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel is in the centre of town with its own car park. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is close by and there are plenty of other attractions within a thirty minute drive.
