Hotel 3 Bintang di Ponce

When we arrived to check in we were given a room that the bed was so worned out, we couldn't believe this room was assigned to us. My husband went to the lobby and told the receptionist and she placed us in another room that was much better, the bed was comfortable. We cant emphasize enough the need in these days that every rooms need a small refrigerator and a microwave. We appreciated the elegance of your Lobby and the very good service & good meal at the restaurant (B) at the Melia. This place, is a hotel not a motel, treat it like wise. Best location for that area, and I'll guess the best hotel. We were in a junior suite, it was older style but nicely updated. We ate in the wine room of the restaurant in the hotel, it was very good and reasonable compared to mainland US. If back in the area, will stay there again.

This place was horrible. The grounds are beautiful and that's it. The linens are thread bare. The mattress was 2 inches thick on marble platform surrounded by mirrors. The bathroom needed a new toilet and it had no drain cover in the sink. We didn't use the blanket on the bed because it was dirty. We do not recommend this place to anyone. We had reservations for a week. We stayed one night only because we arrived so late and couldn't find something else. Otherwise we would have not even stayed the one night.

Upon entering the hotel it was a lot... meaning there was a restaurant, hotel check-in, stores, and a ****** all within the first few steps of the door. When we checked into the hotel, we were told we had been upgraded to a suite - sounds great! But while the room was bigger than average, I wouldn't call it a suite - just a big room! There was a king bed, but not near the side table (which was mounted to the wall). There was a min fridge along with two love seats and a full-sized futon, but the couches were not arranged in a ”suite-like” fashion, just lined up along the wall. The bathroom was larger, but had no room for anything, if that makes sense. Meaning, towels were located on a table near the entrance to the room itself, not in the bathroom. Also, we noted that the room was cold and tried to adjust the thermostat - to find that it was locked. We asked at the front desk if they could unlock it and they said no, that it had to remain at that temperature with the fan on high otherwise the room would have too much condensation and would freeze up. So the best they could offer was an extra blanket. Pros: beautiful infinity pool and balcony outside our suite to relax on
