We stayed in The Richmond from the 15th to the 18th of June this year. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, especially the architecture of the place certainly has a French vibe. The rooms were genuinely clean, with a decent amount of space. However, the pillows were more fluffy than I would have preferred. The breakfast served was okayish (it would have been better if they had more varieties). We had French food for dinner on our last night, and it was delicious. To sum it up, we enjoyed our stay at The Richmond and would definitely love to visit again.

I have always been dreaming about traveling to India and visit Pondicherry! This year, I decided to make it happen! Thanks to my travel agent Services International, who made the reservations for me at the Le Dupleix, Pondicherry, this dream has been fulfilled with aplomb! My brief stay of three nights at this wonderful hotel in the center of town, gave me all the chances to see and experience what visiting Pondicherry is like! The time I took to visit, the guide Babur that accompanied me around town for the day, and the driver Mr Bala from Services International made the trip take place with absolute pleasure! But the staff at the Dupleix headed by Ms Kutiva, Ms Jemima, their housekeeping group with Ms Padmani made my stay here all the more pleasurable! It broke my hear to leave Pondicherry today, but I hope that the chance will come again soon! This time I will plan to visit with my friends and some family as well! I will give The Dupleix a very high recommendation, best to ask for rooms at the ground or second floors! Everything else will just fall into place and make you love reaching Pondicherry even more! Lovely location , and good food in the dining areas. , but everything else was far below our expectations . The hotel is in need of a complete makeover. The rooms are tired looking with furnishings from the 70’s. Our first room. (3) was directly over the kitchen with a very noisy extractor fan than ran from 5:30am to 11:30pm. We switched room to the third floor which was quieter during the day but next to the top floor restaurant and kitchen plus a smoking area directly outside our room for the restaurant guests. The room was very dated and hasn’t been renovated for a very long time . The layout was particularly awkward as it was impossible to get past the wardrobe with the door open or put the bags inside the wardrobe . The room itself was large but the empty space was wasted , adding an extra chair would have gone a long way to making it a more comfortable room. There were plenty of staff , but most just standing about doing very little , getting a tea and coffee at breakfast was a 10 to 15 minute wait , despite at least one person standing idle at the machine. The reception was unable to organise any tours for us , which we felt was odd. Pool although a little small was nice and warm , but did not have a shallow end ( 5feet throughout )so it would not be children friendly

4 stars for the chef, 2.5 for the place. We had gone here for 31st dinner, i suffer from gluten allergy, chef Karna was helpful in guiding and preparing food for me. Although it was really difficult to catch hold of the staff, had to personally go and ask for update on our order. The food was tasty though, we had risotto and bbq cottage cheese with herb rice.

The place was near all major tourist spots and was easy to identify, reach. The staff were welcoming, courteous and well spoken. The check-in and check-out- process were handled swiftly. We had booked a Standard Double Room which was spacious and very well maintained. The room was cleaned in the noons in the presence of the guests. The TV in the room was a Samsung Smart TV which helped us stream shows on OTT as well apart from the Cable. The Breakfast offered at the rooftop between 8 - 9.30 A.M. It was completely vegetarian, very good and well managed with multiple south indian offerings ***** with a Live Dosa Counter. The reception also arranges for Cabs/Scooters for sight seeing.

Came to celebrate my birthday and had a nice time. Everyone smiles at you. Got a cake from them too.. Pro: -Service is super fast and feel like luxury. -Indoor pool was great and very clean. -Gym had trainers in the evening i guess. -Breakfast spread was huge with both veg and non veg. English breakfast was also wide. -centre of the city yet so quiet -Bed is huge and rooms are okaying spacious - iPad with lot of high tech - expresso was had to make but they give help u. - good Wi-Fi - valet parking Con: Asked for room cleaning late evening but didn’t do it. Tv controls in iPad for other entertainment apps are hard .(can provide normal tv control extra too

It's a budget value hotel i stayed in puducherry and little far from beach. Those who don't want to stay inside the city crown can stay here with friends, Get together, Marriage functions, couples, Family too. Very neat room and i will refer my friends to stay back. If you are planning by car or bike so you can reach to hotel directly or if planned to come by Bus or Train you have to take auto or Cab to reach this hotel & Friendly staff. Vivek sir guided me near by swimming pool do i spent some time over there.
