Beautiful hotel with very welcoming & helpful staff. Less than a 5 minute walk to the walls of Citta Alta & to the funicular up to Castello San Viglio. We stayed in a Deluxe Studio room which was spacious for the 2 of us. Lots of choice for breakfast. Very easy to get to on the airport bus (last stop is on Colle Aperto which is 5 minutes away from the hotel through the Porta Sant'Alessandro). Highly recommend stayin here. g

There are a huge number of positives for staying at the Hotel Piazza Vecchia. It is a charming, historic property in the heart of Bergamo’s Citta Alta (Bergamo’s old town), a short walk from all the main sights of this delightful city. The location is superb, close to lots of excellent restaurants and shops, the funicular stops and the main historic sights of the city. Most of the accommodation seems to be near the station which is 15-20 minute walk to the funicular that takes you up to the historic old town (or another 15-20 minute walk up the hill if you are athletic) so it makes a lot of sense to stay here if tourism is the reason why you come to town. The hotel is located off one of the main old town streets, up a short flight of stairs to the reception desk. It’s eighteen steps, and a stairlift is available if you need help. To the three floors where the rooms are located there is a small lift. The check in and out was efficient and friendly, the receptionists are always welcoming and speak English. They really want to boost tourism to the city and were very nice to speak to. The written communication isn’t quite as strong. Before we arrived we requested an airport pick up, which they provide through a local driver who is very nice and speaks good English. We got no confirmation to say this was arranged so emailed again to be told that it was arranged. The pick up was fine but when we went to confirm the return to the airport we found the time they had was wrong. It was soon sorted out, but I would recommend double checking the details. Parking is also available at a nearby site. Our room was on the third floor. It had a balcony with a view of rooftops and the hills behind the city, a large TV (but only with Italian channels), good WiFi, a wardrobe and a very small safe, which again showed for us that Reception is a little inconsistent. I went to use it, followed the instructions and then couldn’t open it. I informed Reception (luckily, I had nothing in the safe) and that it needed resetting, but it didn’t happen during our time at the hotel. There is also a coffee machine, fridge and a comfortable bed and an air conditioner/heater. They provide cups, glasses and a corkscrew. The most irritating thing about the room we stayed in was that there was no ceiling light, just a wall light and three lamps, making the room quite dark and impossible to find anything in the wardrobe or drawers after dark without a torch. The only other downside to the room was that there was only one bin, a small one in the bathroom so it filled up quickly. The room also had a desk, a table and seats, which weren’t that comfortable, they were like garden furniture, so I suspect that they go on the balcony when the weather improves. The bathroom had a good shower. The sink was nicely designed but a bit impractical, with a sloping bottom to it and an overhanging tap which made shaving or washing your face awkward. Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per 3 giorni per andare a Leolandia. Ambiente super confortevole, caldo e accogliente. Le camere sono molto spaziose e pulite. Al momento della prenotazione abbiamo chiesto una tripla pur essendo in 4, poiché la bimba piccola può dormire nel lettino da campeggio e la signora alla reception ci aveva avvisato che forse saremmo stati stretti, invece con tutto il lettino aperto ci si muoveva benissimo. Personale molto gentile e disponibile e la colazione abbondante e di qualità. Grazie veramente dell'ospitalità e alla prossima!

La struttura è molto curata ed inserita in un contesto di servizi sportivi ( al momento del nostro soggiorno era chiuso per ferie di ferragosto) Zona decentrata da Bergamo città ma collegata bene con l'auto. Camera e bagno pulitissimi. Accoglienza del personale ottima. Colazione curata e con la presenza di vari prodotti selezionati. Parcheggio gratuito non custodito ma comunque sicuro e in alternativa, per soli 2 euro, parcheggio coperto con barriera per l'accesso. Nota accessoria: Ci hanno consigliato un ristorante a qualche km dall'hotel, Trattoria Taiocchi, con il quale hanno convenzione con sconto 10%, regolarmente poi applicata, in cui abbiamo mangiato benissimo.

Ci siamo stati una notte a causa di un problema con la compagnia aerea. Siamo stati accolti da un personale strepitosamente simpatico e gentilissimo, pronto a qualsiasi richiesta e molto tempestivo nel rispondere alle più svariate informazioni. Ci è sembrato di essere a casa, premurosi, gentili, simpatici e molto comprensivi. Veramente un ottimo posto dove pernottare per viaggi di lavoro o per un pò di relax, circondato da un paesino (Treviolo) molto ben tenuto e molto carino.

I was here for a night stop over on my way to east Italy and I will definitely come back. I've checked in late (9pm) and the receptonist (Davide) welcomed me. This guy is always smiling and is very open for nice talks. He gave me also very good advices for places to visit and where to go for shopping. If I had any question about the hotel or anything else he was totally open to help with 100%. I am very satisfied! Also the staff in the morning at the breakfast was very very kind and helpful. Thanks very much for my perfect stay and see you very soon. Especially thanks to Davide, I'm very looking forward to have some more time with you to talk. Thanks a lot!

Si jamais vous cherchez un hôtel en dehors de la ville de Bergame, ne cherchez pas ailleurs ! Par contre, surtout ne vous fiez pas aux apparences, l'hôtel est situé dans une sorte de zone d'activité économique, ce qui, de prime abord, n'est pas très rassurant mais une fois garé et rentrés c'est tout à fait autre chose L'hôtel a une décoration qui allie l'ancien et le moderne avec un goût esthétique prononcé et ça lui donne un charme incommensurable. Deux piscines sont disponibles, une extérieure et une intérieure. Il est également possible de prendre un verre sur la terrasse dehors. Dans les chambres tout le confort possible est disponible, du petit frigidaire, en passant par la télé par câble (chaînes françaises disponibles) la salle de bain est grande et en plus d'une douche propose (comme beaucoup d'hôtels en Italie un bidet) Le lit double est très grand et la literie est idéale, entre le ferme et le mouelleux Le petit déjeuner est un régal, il y a du choix, les produits sont fins et de bons gouts, les jus ne sont certes pas pressés du matin mais ils sont bons. Le seul point négatif serait qu'il faille demander pour avoir son thé, car pas d'eau chaude ou de sacs de thé à disposition. Enfin le parking extérieur privé est gratuit En résumé vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés (enfin si il faut les garder ouverts parce que tout y est beau )

A very pleasant experience,,, too bad they don't serve dinner as the breakfast is superb and included... The best part of the hotel however is the service,, Rebecca, Joanna, Paolo and Francesco are truly there to help ... Location is excellent should you want to stay in lower town, near the shopping and many restaurants, a 15 minute walk to the funicular to upper town,, This hotel is your ticket to the start of a great day,, enjoy,,, ska Tucson Arizona
