Mowbray by the Sea

This is not 4* as described. The apartment was dirty and poorly cleaned. The pool area and the facility was very disappointing and dirty. The customer service was not satisfactory. I would not recommend Mowbray by the Sea to others.

Highly recommend - great two bedroom apartment each bedroom has its own large ensuite bathroom. The water pressure and instant hot water is amazing as new fixtures. This apartment is CLEAN! I cannot fault it I even feel comfortable walking bare foot on the carpet! They have thought of everything. We found olive oil, soy sauce, salt, canola oil, coffee, sugar. Tea milk. Dishwasher powder, washing machine liquid. Washer and dryer. One queen bed and two singles and I’m pretty sure the couches are fold out beds. Bothe bedrooms have aircon and ceiling fans and there is a third air con in the lounge area. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes. A good selection of pillows and comfy mattress. Literally a 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach right Out front of the nets and a 5 minute walk into town. Quiet. Large veranda with an outdoor table and chairs as well as two sun beds. Foxtel TV. Internet is free and GOOD! Pool is lovely and enough sun beds for the space but you may need to sit at the BBQ area if busy. When we arrived the aircon was on, TV on and ready, kettle filled. We’ll appointed kitchen with everything you need. We will absolutely be back. Did I mention how clean it is? I was in a two bedroom apartment 7. Underground parking and on street parking.

Pros - very short walk from best part of the beach, close to town so you can walk to restaurants, large apartments, quiet, ok value for Port Douglas, pool is nice. Our apartment had a big comfy balcony. Cons - the 2 bedroom we had needed a reno and new furniture. General - (this isnt about the hotel) the beach was closed the whole week were there due to winds, even though its always windy at Port Douglas. So whoever in the council makes these stupid decisions needs to be sacked as the waves were small and there was a roped off shallow area where people should have been allowed to swim, noting it was school holidays so there were plenty of grumpy kids (and parents) !!!

The room we had was very run down and tired. There were tiles that were cracked and even lifting in parts. The lounge furniture and outdoor furniture was worn out. Apartment was very spacious and its position is perfect for any visit to Port Douglas being an easy walking distance to anywhere you want to visit while in town. Pool was kept at a really nice temperature for ease of getting in. Has got a lot of potential for being an amazing place to stay but the rooms are in dire need of a refurb before I would be interested in staying here again.

Well located, nice pool but we expected a lot more for the price we paid. The lounge suite was uncomfortable (it was a cheap outdoor setting), the apartment was dated - stained carpet, patchy tiling, dusty fans and wardrobes, large areas of paint chipped off skirting boards etc. Most disappointing was the cheapskate and annoying lack of supplies - one tiny sachet of dishwasher powder for a 4 night stay, insufficient loo paper and toiletries. No tea towel, super thin and stained bath and pool towels. It would be really easy to fix these issues.

The pool is amazing and so is the proximity to all the restaurants and local things to do.

Very good location with everything you need close by. Well equipped, good size accommodations. Appreciated the mid-stay change of linens & sheets. Had everything we were looking for in our stay.

Comfie beds and pillows. 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment, super clean. We didn't use the pool as 4 mile beach and the swim net area is less than 100ms down the road. Easy 10 minute walk into town or to the marina. Well located
