Location was perfect for us. Room was large which was great as was the King Size bed. Although I don't mind having a room suited for disabled guests I always find it a plus when at least I'm advised of this either when booking or at Checkin. I just believe it is good customer service. I think the carpets are in need of replacing. They are quite dirty and worn in some places. In fact for a Rydges property it seemed very tired and not up to the standard we normally appreciate. It just does not live up to the Rydges promise. it certainly needs updating. Even the Front Desk Staff seemed worn out especially when it got busier. They just didn't seem to engage in a positive and friendly way. Breakfast was very good and we enjoyed the restaurant space but I did feel only having one staff member at door, cleaning tables, restocking supplies/coffee pots etc was quite noticeable.

What has happened to Sails Port Macquarie?I have stayed here numerous times for events and holidays and it is sad to see the level of service and the detioration of the room and furnishings that has occured. After charging $647 .00 a night (event pricing) which I was aware of,another charge of $10 a night for unsecured parking was applied also. The balcony ballastrade was covered in cobwebs and the room on check in had an apple core on the floor that was not removed until our last night. Staff used to be friendly and acknowledge you when you walked past check in but not now it is just heads down etc. Very overpriced in all aspects which is such a pity as I have enjoyed all my other stays here with no complaints'.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife - lovely! Good 4 star hotel - clean, well presented, everything worked. No USB ports, but a minor problem. Underground free car parking, lovely sun shelter covered rooftop pool (and gym / bbq facilities) with great view. Perfect location for exploring harbour / town centre, lovely walk into mangroves along the river, loads of restaurants about. Friendly staff. Great! Would happily stay again.

With an unexpected visit to Port due to my son having an accident, I was going day to day until we could get transferred back to Sydney. The team at Mantra, the Observatory, went above and beyond accommodating my unusual situation. Being on my own, a long way from home, at the hospital all day every day and celebrating my birthday the situation was so overwhelming, the amazing team at Mantra showed such kindness. Then toward the end of the week I walked into my room and found a care package they had put together for me, which absolutely blew me away! In addition, the apartment/s were amazing, I stayed in the 1 bdrm and the 2 bdrm, both clean, well appointed, comfortable in every possible way, with the beach over the road and the Club just around the corner. The location and the Accommodation was absolutely 5 star plus and the Team at Mantra were exceptional.

Very clean and spacious room. Felt comfortable in there. However, the pillow was a bit hard. The motel reception closed at 7pm and it was literally closed. The tip I learned is to send message by the phone number placed at the reception door or send email by the website's contact email. The staff was responsive to both ways - save you the overseas call if you're foreigners. The staff will send you the passcode of the key box then you can get the envelope of the room number and key. 6 minutes drive to Port Macquarie where has many good quality restaurants. We went to the Japanese restaurant, Ichi, very good quality dishes but not expensive! Another we didn't manage to go is Bills Fishouse & Bar. It was full house thus, needs to do reservation if you wan to secure a table. Saw what people eat in Bills - dishes looked beautiful and tasty.

Stayed here for 2 nights continuing our journey down the Pacific Coast. My first impression was (Brits will understand) it was like an up marker Butlins or Pontins, but is actually it was excellent. The chalet/ villa has 3 beds but 2 are upstairs and we’re locked which freaked my wife out especially on the first night. But it has everything you want a fully equipped kitchen, dining table a comfy sofa and large screen TV. There was also a patio area with bbq. The bathroom/ shower room was superb, probably one of the best showers I’ve ever used! The grounds are immaculate and we also made use of the washing machine/ dryer. We didn’t use the amenities in walking distance but they looked good. Disappointingly one of the best rated restaurants The Blue Whale was only a stones throw away but shuts every Monday and Tuesday as do many restaurants in Port MacQuaurie. The koala hospital is accessed at the rear of Flynns and is a must to visit. Local beaches are absolutely fab. Overall a brilliant stay, everything we needed. Thank you

One night stay with family. I rarely review hotels because I'm too occupied writing restaurant reviews. But this stay was exceptional. What we liked: - Plenty of free parking - Friendly, courteous staff - Immaculate older, hotel - Six types of toiletries in room including shaving cream - Comfy bed. Stayed in a Marriott at the beginning of this vacation and the bed at Water's Edge was newer and firmer - Bar, restaurant, and espresso on site - Fabulous view of the harbor - One block to restaurants and shopping - Good wifi - Spacious, quiet room - Balcony with chairs and table. Loved letting the fresh air into the room - Table and chairs in the room too - Reasonable price - Room service available for just $5 AUS. What we didn't like: - Rooms are upstairs (only one floor above) but there is no elevator. Would we return? Yes!

Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. Arrived after reception closed, received a text on how to access the after hours check in - was easy to use and access the the carpark was ideal. Apartment was clean and ideal for two family stay for an overnight stop. Within a casual stroll to the centre of town. . The apartment was self contained if you wanted to cook or reheat food. I was on level 3 which was suitable and quiet. Will certainly stay again when visiting Port Macquarie, well priced, friendly staff at reception desk.

We stayed here on my birthday. I had booked this stay several months ago and suggested the floor and room in which I wanted to stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by a smiling and happy staff member who commenced to book us in. The room that was offered to us was on a different floor and not of the same calibre as the room I had asked for. This staff member was not at all helpful. Another older staff member said he would shuffle some rooms around in order to accommodate in a more appropriate room. The room was nice and large. The corner lounge was covered in stains and the bath towels were very worn. I would not use them. Please replace your room towels for good quality ones a.s.a.p. Customers are paying a lot of money to stay at your premises. The least you could do is provide them with decent towels.

This is my second time staying here and didn't disappoint. The staff are always friendly and I just enjoy getting know other travellers. The room was exactly what I needed after a long day of driving. This is definitely one of the best Backpackers I've stayed at. I'll definitely come back again. The only downside was with a shared bathroom/toilet facilities there was not enough toilet paper and ran out in the middle of the night.

My wife and recently spent three days over two stays at the Excelsior Motor Inn, which is very conveniently situated about 10 minutes walk from the town centre of Port MacQuarie.Probably the first thing to mention is the way Jerry, the manager, went out of his way to be as helpful as possible. Our return trip was disrupted by the recent Northern Rivers floods, which meant that we had to revise our accommodation booking several times. He dealt with this cheerfully and competently, going out of his way to comply with our requests. The rooms are not elaborate, but fulfilled all our requirements. Good shower and bathroom, comfortable beds and adequate TV. They are also spotlessly clean. The price is eminently reasonable. If you are not looking for luxury, you can't beat this motel. If you have heavy luggage, as for a room on the ground floor, as thy are very accessible from the parking in front of the motel. Very importantly, breakfast round the corner at Bandwagon is not to be missed.

Food here is solid pub grub that tastes great and is reasonably priced considering location. This review rating however is highly affected by the accommodation which is spartan for the price charged. Bed was decent however very hard to get to sleep with noise outside from drunk folks at 2am. They advertise there is air conditioning but that would appear to be so for the pub and bistro only downstairs. Our triple with ensuite had no airconditioning (only a wall mounted convection heater) and a ceiling fan which only worked at a gale force speed (with attendant noise issues) or barely any air movement at all. Come here for the friendly service and food and drinks at the bar/bistro, but stay here only if you have no other choice in the middle of summer in Port Macquarie.

My mother and I stayed in apartment 322 for a 3 night stay. We both rated the whole experience very highly! The apartment was very well equipped and the 2 bathrooms was a great bonus. There was a washing machine and dryer in the second bathroom. The kitchen was very well equipped with cutlery, crockery, cooking equipment and a dishwasher. The couch was roomy and the TV was huge with lots of FOXTEL channels. The balcony was huge with a full dining table and also outdoor lounge. We felt very fancy eating our breakfast and dinner out there and we could see the ocean if standing up! It was great to be able to park undercover under the complex as it was easy walking distance to the shops. Reception was closed when we arrived, but they sent me a text message to explain how to get the keys, which was a well explained and easy process. We loved everything about our stay and would definitely return on our next trip to Port Macquarie!

My wife and recently spent three days over two stays at the Excelsior Motor Inn, which is very conveniently situated about 10 minutes walk from the town centre of Port MacQuarie.Probably the first thing to mention is the way Jerry, the manager, went out of his way to be as helpful as possible. Our return trip was disrupted by the recent Northern Rivers floods, which meant that we had to revise our accommodation booking several times. He dealt with this cheerfully and competently, going out of his way to comply with our requests. The rooms are not elaborate, but fulfilled all our requirements. Good shower and bathroom, comfortable beds and adequate TV. They are also spotlessly clean. The price is eminently reasonable. If you are not looking for luxury, you can't beat this motel. If you have heavy luggage, as for a room on the ground floor, as thy are very accessible from the parking in front of the motel. Very importantly, breakfast round the corner at Bandwagon is not to be missed.

We stayed here on my birthday. I had booked this stay several months ago and suggested the floor and room in which I wanted to stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by a smiling and happy staff member who commenced to book us in. The room that was offered to us was on a different floor and not of the same calibre as the room I had asked for. This staff member was not at all helpful. Another older staff member said he would shuffle some rooms around in order to accommodate in a more appropriate room. The room was nice and large. The corner lounge was covered in stains and the bath towels were very worn. I would not use them. Please replace your room towels for good quality ones a.s.a.p. Customers are paying a lot of money to stay at your premises. The least you could do is provide them with decent towels.

This is my second time staying here and didn't disappoint. The staff are always friendly and I just enjoy getting know other travellers. The room was exactly what I needed after a long day of driving. This is definitely one of the best Backpackers I've stayed at. I'll definitely come back again. The only downside was with a shared bathroom/toilet facilities there was not enough toilet paper and ran out in the middle of the night.

What we liked: - Plenty of free parking - Friendly, courteous staff - Immaculate older, hotel - Six types of toiletries in room including shaving cream - Comfy bed. Stayed in a Marriott at the beginning of this vacation and the bed at Water's Edge was newer and firmer - Bar, restaurant, and espresso on site - Fabulous view of the harbor - One block to restaurants and shopping - Good wifi - Spacious, quiet room - Balcony with chairs and table. Loved letting the fresh air into the room - Table and chairs in the room too - Reasonable price - Room service available for just $5 AUS. What we didn't like: - Rooms are upstairs (only one floor above) but there is no elevator. Would we return? Yes!

What has happened to Sails Port Macquarie?I have stayed here numerous times for events and holidays and it is sad to see the level of service and the detioration of the room and furnishings that has occured. After charging $647 .00 a night (event pricing) which I was aware of,another charge of $10 a night for unsecured parking was applied also. The balcony ballastrade was covered in cobwebs and the room on check in had an apple core on the floor that was not removed until our last night. Staff used to be friendly and acknowledge you when you walked past check in but not now it is just heads down etc. Very overpriced in all aspects which is such a pity as I have enjoyed all my other stays here with no complaints'.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife - lovely! Good 4 star hotel - clean, well presented, everything worked. No USB ports, but a minor problem. Underground free car parking, lovely sun shelter covered rooftop pool (and gym / bbq facilities) with great view. Perfect location for exploring harbour / town centre, lovely walk into mangroves along the river, loads of restaurants about. Friendly staff. Great! Would happily stay again.

We stayed for a weekend in a studio unit. Unit was very clean and comfortable bed - everything we needed. Whilst a concert in Port was cancelled due mini cyclone we still had a great weekend. The park coped very well cleaning up damage from storm and were fantastic with communication. Great to be able to walk everywhere. I left some clothing in the unit which staff happily posted back to me. Many thanks - we will back.
