I have nothing but incredible things to say about this place.
The vibes: immaculate. The cutest historic building.
The staff: SO wonderful. There was a tiny little hiccup with our check out time but they were so gracious and sweet.
The room: so cozy and cute. We loved wearing the robes provided while getting ready for our night.
Location: PERFECT everything we walked or needed was a 2 minute walk at most.
Cleanliness: SPOTLESS. If it wasn’t perfectly clean I would have walked right outta there. I hate even a mildly dirty hotel.
I was NERVOUS because the bathrooms are not located in the room but honestly didn’t even matter.
My only teeny tiny complaint is that the lighting is not ideal for doing your make up, especially in the fall when it gets dark outside earlier, but that obviously is no fault to the hotel.
I had the best girls weekend here. I cannot wait to bring my honey back ❤️❤️

I had fun at the Crystal; friendly and helpful staff, great bar and restaurant, very affordable, lots of good tips and orientation for this first time Portland visitor. I am anxious to return and have more fun,adventure, good food and exploration.

I liked the hotel. For the price though it wasn’t worth it. Motel quality for hotel pricing. The history of the place is cool but our room smelled really musky and it honestly weirded me out a bit.

Awesome hotel, the location was perfect for me since I was going to a show at the Crystal Ballroom not too far away. This hotel is also in very close proximity to restaurants, parks and attractions that are from a walkable distance. The room we stayed in was very clean and had a sink in the room which was convenient since the bathrooms in this hotel are shared (privately accessed with a key of course). We also ate at the adjacent restaurant and received very pleasant service. There was a bit of noise from other guests here and there that can definitely be heard through the walls, but overall it was actually pretty quiet and I didn't have too many issues sleeping overnight. My stay was brief but if I visit the Portland area again I would totally stay here, especially for the ultra reasonable pricing.

The McMenamins Hotel is rooted in music history, and I am so glad I did so. I chose this hotel because of its association with the Cyrstal Ballroom, where I attended a show. The staff was courteous from beginning to end, the bathrooms(although communal) served my needs, and I had no issues. The downstairs hot springs are amazing, and I'm saddened that I did not spend more time there. On the bright side, if I ever needed a quick getaway, I'd take the time to drive to Portland from Seattle. Parking can be a hassle, so expect to pay $25 per day at a nearby parking lot. Shout out to Kay and Chloe for the service. Oh, and forget to attend the adjacent cafe. :)

I loved all the artwork, the bohemian vibe of the entire space. The staff was amazing and I would definitely stay here again.

Homeless people everywhere outside of the property. I mean everywhere and the hotel charged for the rooms even though there was confusion with the check in date and were booked up on our arrival. Charged for the night and we had 2 rooms booked. Make sure to double check your booking info!
We had to stay at a different hotel down the street. Homeless people were roaming all around that one too and it was only a couple blocks away. I recommend taking all of your valuables out of your car and if you explore the city after dark do not do it alone. Stay in groups.
