Partner and I stayed at Casa da Companhia for a week - it was one of the best hotel experiences of our lives! From check-in to the attentive breakfast service and continuing through check-out, we were thrilled by the warmth and quality of service of the staff. Recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, and a day tour of Douro were all top-notch, and we'll be passing them onto our friends who follow us. Location is on Rue das Flores - a pedestrian-access only street. If you have significant mobility concerns, I would recommend reaching out ahead of time to the hotel to coordinate your arrival transportation. Location cannot be beat - we walked everywhere and were very happy with our access to a number of sights, restaurants, the waterfront, etc. There was a minor hiccup (no fault of the hotel) regarding another guest on our floor who was smoking in their room. The smell subsequently made its way into our room via the ventilation system. Before leaving for a dinner, we notified the front desk and they took immediate action, assessing the smell in our room. Upon our return that evening, they offered to place us in another room overnight, if the smoke smell persisted. When we returned to our room, the smell had dissipated and we declined the extra room - but we greatly appreciated their responsiveness and offer of alternative accommodations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. I enjoyed the dry sauna and indoor pool on a rainy day and found both to be very well-maintained. We'll be recommending this hotel to our friends and family and are looking forward to returning to Porto and Casa da Companhia.

No words.... Has been a trip INSIDE a subway construction area .... And I am not kidding unfortunately. I have reserved a single room kind bed. At beginning the reception assigned me one room at 4th floor exactly in front of jackhammer operators, which made the same noises as in war scenario with 2 beds. Then after my immediate big complain reception have assigned me another room, #209. Different scenario : that was in front of a concrete grinding crane arrives from 8pm in the morning until 10pm in the evening. at 7am the noises of the vehicles began with the relative movement alarm and in the evening after 10pm the workers who hammer gradually finished at 1am in the night. all i have timed videos to prove my experience. I asked several times to assign me a room ON OTHER SIDE (that are outside the ”war operation area”) but answer was always _ ”SORRY SIR, THE ROOM ON BACKSIDE ARE FULL AND WE DO NOT HAVE SPACE AVAILABLE” . Today at check out I have asked a discount, as feedback the receptionist charged me 20EUR more for 2 peer juices I have got from minibar...... I do not know how to describe this experience, I have been many times in Intercontinental and I have been always satisfied.... BESIDE THIS LAST TRIP THAT IS REALLY SOMETHING I WANT TO FORGET Travellers' take extreme care going there !! At least until the subway works under room balcony are finished !!! Can not upload pictures the website tell me ”unable to lad” but I can sent ll of them separately

The G.A. Palace is a great boutique hotel property located within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions of Porto. The property, from its rooms to its lobby to its pool area, feels luxurious in a relaxed, understated way. My room was large and extra-comfortable. The staff attending my room did an excellent job keeping the room in pristine condition during my 4 night stay. The lobby/front guest staff were always helpful with recommendations. I was able to book a great last minute wine tour with their help. My favourite things here were the amazing breakfast each morning downstairs, the relaxing pool/spa area, and the large-sized room. I would definitely want to stay here again and again. Kudos to the great team of staff working to make G.A. Palace such an enjoyable experience.

The hotel was beautiful and in a very nice location of Porto. We had an incredibly nice gentleman greet us upon arrival at 2am. I wish I had gotten his name because he was extremely informative and helpful and gave me a wealth of helpful advice about Porto. The room was beautiful and quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. I also appreciated that our room was very clean. The only drawback to this hotel was the breakfast. While the food was delicious, the servers lacked etiquette. We arrived on our fist day to breakfast at 10:45am, knowing they closed at 11. However, when we arrived no one offered to get us coffee cups or silverware. I had to do that myself awkwardly while they stood around. We proceeded to get our breakfast and about 10:50 they said they were closing. That was fine as but the way they spoke to us was rather rude. Afterward, mind you it’s not even 11, everyone disappeared. It was just a completely awkward and weird experience. We stayed at several other Pestana hotels and did not have this kind of experience.

4dias em família. O atendimento foi espetacular do início ao fim. Sempre muito atentos. Quartos com camas muito confortáveis e bem isolados do barulho. Têm estacionamento fora do hotel, mas é 1min de distância e o valor diário de 10€, o que é um excelente preço tendo em conta o que se pratica na zona. O rooftop é bom e têm algumas mini festas que são agradáveis (e acabam às 21:30), por isso é óptimo. A limpeza dos quartos é impecável e não tenho mais nada a apontar. Só não experimentei o pequeno-almoço por ser um valor demasiado alto para os preços de um pequeno-almoço normal. A repetir de certeza!

Stayed 4 nights upon arriving in Porto. For a 3 star hotel the property is very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and offer a closet with a safe, a kettle and tea/coffee service, a small fridge that is stocked but still room to put a beer, wine bottle or water bottle in to chill. Several outlets but no usb ports. Bathroom has a bidet. Shower had good water pressure. It’s actually a tub/shower combination. Only thing missing was wash cloth. Didn’t get one in either of my Portugal hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, Starts at 7. Several options from eggs to pancakes, side dishes, so many fresh breads, cereal, fancy coffee machine, fresh juices. There is also a bar at the hotel but we didn’t visit it. Next door is a 3 store mall with a full service American size grocery store to buy water, snacks, wine etc. at very affordable prices. One block away is the Mercado Bom Success, an upscale food court. We ate dinner there twice. The hotel is in an area called Villa Nova so a 30 to 40 minute walk from the historical center. The metro is 10 to 15 minutes away, Casa de Musical stop, which will take you to the historical center in 15 minutes. I would stay here again if ever in Porto.

A perfect apartment for our family - 3 kids, 8, 12 and 14. The loft had a couch that was turned into a bed for our 14 year old son. Our girls slept in the upstairs bedroom and we slept in the downstairs bedroom. There were 3 very large full bathrooms with double sinks. Beds were comfortable, the living area was large and a full kitchen and a washing machine which came in very handy. Great friendly staff and their breakfast was amazing. The location was perfect, right by the Cathedral Se and walking distance to everything! Our favorite spot was ”Base Porto” right by the Clérigos Tower, about a 10 min walk. Grab some cushions and hang out in the park with a drink for a break from walking all those hills. If I had to include a negative, there are stairs to get up to the entrance, and the lift only goes to the first floor. Wasn't an issue for us, but may be for some. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for three nights on a visit to Porto, and I cannot say enough about how great this apartment was. I’ve been to 32 counties, and this was one of the coolest, places I’ve ever stayed. I had the studio apartment, and there was more than enough room for me to spread out. (Would be perfect for two people as well.) The bedroom had windows, but it was very warm when I visited, so it was nice close them and feel like I was in my own little cave. The water pressure was amazing, and the shower was perfect after the steep hills of Porto. Elizabeth greeted me at the top of the stairs and helped me lug my bag down (and helped me lug it back up when I checked out). She was so friendly and welcoming. She recommended some “must-sees” and even left me a cake from the bakery! I agree with the other reviewers that this is not for guests with any mobility issues. But if you want to experience “the real Porto,” this is the apartment for you.

Siamo appena tornati da una breve ma intensa vacanza a Porto, una città sorprendentemente bella. Abbiamo soggiornato presso la guesthouse Maria da Se' (ora si chiama così), nel centro storico, e abbiamo ricevuto un'accoglienza e un'attenzione straordinari in ogni momento, dall'arrivo in aeroporto, dove Fausto e Maria ci hanno pazientemente aspettato nonostante l'enorme ritardo del volo, al momento dell'arrivo in stanza, dove abbiamo trovato un dolcissimo benvenuto con pasteis de nata e bicchierino di Porto, fino al momento in cui abbiamo lasciato la guesthouse e siamo stati riaccompagnati in aeroporto. La struttura - ospitata in un palazzetto del centro storico, a due passi dalla Cattedrale e a dieci minuti di passeggiata dal lungofiume di RIbeira - , è semplice ma accogliente, la colazione è molto buona e resa ancora più gradevole dalla attenta presenza dei gestori. Fausto, Maria ed Helena sono stati sempre attenti alle nostre richieste ed esigenze, dandoci tantissime informazioni utili sulle cose da vedere, sui negozi dove comprare souvenir (e spesso accompagnandoci!), sui ristoranti e le trattorie dove pranzare e cenare. Fausto ha organizzato una splendida giornata nella valle del Douro (per altro a prezzi decisamente inferiori a quelli offerti dalle agenzie) , durante cui ci ha accompagnato con gentilezza e pazienza regalandoci ulteriori informazioni preziose... una compagnia davvero eccellente, non avremmo potuto desiderare di meglio! Insomma, nel giro di pochi giorni possiamo dire di aver trovato degli splendidi amici a Porto e non possiamo che raccomandare a tutti un soggiorno presso questa guesthouse!

Hola, el apartamento Tarantino con unas vistas impresionantes al puente y al rio. Muy dificil aparcar. Muy mal el check in. Ya es tarde [las 4] para acceder pero encima no estaba disponible. Entramls a las 5.10 esperando con las maletas y sentados en las escaleras. Gonzalo el chico q recibe muy amable y pidiendo dosculpas y la chica de la limpieza a todo correr y superamable pero no es problema nuestro Pagamls por algo q no tuvimos con el trasgoque de los planes de ese dia. No lo recomiendo. Demas en la reserva de booking ponia q teniamos q abonar 8 euros de impuesto municipal y ellos nos dijeron 12. No problema abonamos 12 pero mucha exigencia y ni siquiera nos ofrecieron salir tarde el domingo.

I honestly can not put into words how amazing this Hotel is just wonderful beautiful stunning right in the city Centre of Porto. The staff all need to be mentioned they are outstanding. From every single staff member we came into contact with nothing was a problem for them. Always with a smile and really friendly but also very professional. I have to give a special mention to George who looked after us for breakfast every morning he is incredible, so warm friendly and very professional he really did look after us as he does with all the other diners. He made us feel so special and nothing was to much trouble for him we looked forward to seeing him every morning. So well done to all the staff, my partner and I travel lots all over the world and I can honestly say Torel 1884 is the best for customer service and I can not thank you all enough. Porto has a special place in my heart we will definitely be back. Thank You. Lynne and Jeremy.
