Vera Cruz Porto Downtown Hotel

위치 정말 좋고 친절하고 저렴해서 좋아요. 조금 낡긴 했지만 가성비 최고 입니다. 공항가는 철도도 가깝고 포르투 시내 여행이 모두 도버로 가능하고 바로 옆에 줄서서 먹는 식당도 있어요~

The longer I stayed, the more my opinion of the hotel changed! My first impressions were that this was an average, budget hotel: a small room with a small double bed, old fashioned furniture, tiny shower cubicle, no fridge, kettle or bottled water and a waste bin that still had someone’s trash in it. BUT… the room was otherwise clean and functional and the ladies on reception were amazing and the friendliest people ever. They spoke fantastic English and greeted me by name every time I left or came back (you have to leave your room key with them). They provided a map and advice on where to go and offered to arrange a taxi when I left etc. You are asked what time you want breakfast when you check in which is a bit odd, but the breakfast room on the 9th floor is small so breakfast times have to be staggered. There is a rope cordon across the entrance to stop people going in (not very welcoming). Breakfast was simple but adequate. The hotel is less than 5 minutes’ walk from Trindade station (if you’re coming from the airport) and in a side street opposite the city hall and the Porto sign. It’s 10-15 minutes to walk downhill to most of the sights and down to the river. The main road is noisy with cars and buses rumbling all night so you might have difficulty sleeping with the window open if you have a front facing balcony room. The walls are thin, so you can hear people talking in the next rooms. However, I really enjoyed my stay as a solo traveller and for 90 Euros a night (including breakfast), this was good value for Porto.

Booked this because of the great price and reviews. We stayed 5 nights and it worked out at £58 per night with breakfast. You can't argue with that. Hotel is right in the heart of the city and is central to everything. Ten minute walk from Trinade station. (central hub). Easy to reach on the metro from the airport via Trinade station. Ten minutes to Livrraia Lello. Also great places to eat within 5 mins walk. Breakfast cost us two euros each per night with the rate we got and it far exceeded expectations. Staff are lovely, especially the reception staff. Room was cleaned daily and was done to a high standard. Room was big, bed, comfortable. Bathroom huge and shower hot with good pressure. Hotel had a few tired spots , worn carpet in well used areas and room had a couple of fittings loose. But for the price it was an exceptional stay. We stayed in room 802. Great views and a balcony. Some noise from breakfast room above us, but we were up early anyway, so not an issue. Higher floor meant less street noise so we gained from this I think. Slept well every night.

This is a 2 star hotel with a very good rate! Located right on the main street and close to different attractions, restaurants and train station. Cozy, comfortable and very helpful staff. Filipa was our main point of contact at the hotel since she was at the reception everyday and make our 2 days at Vera Cruz hotel very pleasant. Buffett breakfast was included from 7 to 10 am and attended by 2 girls from Venezuela very attentive and always smiling (not very common nowadays). Our room was on the 7th floor very spacious with 2 balconies and the only room with a private terrace where you can have a drink while relaxing enjoying the view of the plaza with its gigantic Christmas tree! Location is ideal for a morning stroll and very close to everything. Remember reviews are very subjective and only reflect the way of traveling of the person who stayed at the place reviewed. I been traveling for more than 50 years and visited the 5 continents and over 40 countries. So, you can take my review as a good one.

This is my go to hotel in Porto because of its convenient location, very friendly staff and hygiene standards . Some of the older rooms are old fashioned but they are perfectly fine for a few days although room 101 could do with some drawers. I've stayed here 5 times and if I'm back in Porto again will return. There is a lovely terrace on the roof that they could maximize more than using it for breakfast and the new bar area in the reception might open in the future which would be an added bonus. Breakfast is very basic and could be better but the staff are lovely

It is a two-star hotel that offers great value for money. No luxury despite pretty high price. The room was clean and comfortable in a great location. The bed was massive and comfortable, the room was spotless except for some dust and dirt under the bed and behind the chest of drawers. The bathroom was of a luxury standard - an ensuite you would expect to find in a hotel double the price. The breakfast is too low of standard - simple cheap food and white bread. Only one cheese, one kind of ham both of low quality. The hotel advertise with a roof terrace but the only time one could use it was for breakfast. The staff was very friendly - but my recommendation would be NOT to advertise with a roof terrace if you can't use it except for breakfast and improve your breakfast to next level - e.g bacon, eggs, different cheeses and a in all a greater selection of food.

Nice hotel, very central. Staff are very friendly and room was clean and fresh. Breakfast was the only let down on an otherwise great place. It was listed as a 3 star, when we arrived it was recognised as a 2 star but I would say its more 3 star.

We stayed here for a city break 4 days having a superior with view of the square . the room was very clean and cleaned every morning,bathroom almost the size of the main room and well laid out with large shower but no bath . View from the balcony was as advertised , could sit and people watch. Breakfast was continental as much as you wanted self service with a good variety of breads,meats and fruit . The breakfast was served on the top floor in the restaurant very light with views over the city also a balcony for eating or having a drink in warmer weather, cannot comment on the restaurant as it was out of season and not open.This hotel is very well positioned to be able to walk to almost all places of interest including a 10 min walk to the river also very close to many restaurants for evening dinning , would recommend taking the old tram trip beside the river.The staff at the hotel were nothing but excellent,friendly and helpful not only with the hotel but finding us places to visit and restaurants, so impressed with the lady on reception that we bought her a bunch of flowers before leaving. Only adverse comments are that the balcony is on the narrow side and there were no seats but used seating from the inside when needed. Lastly the furniture in the room for some might be a bit dated but for us it was fine.

The front desk is very helpful. The rooms are on the small side, but they are clean and comfortable. The hotel is well-located as it is close a wide range of restaurants and not far from the metro. The mattress is very firm, but that was fine for me. We never had a chance to sample the breakfast. Overall, I would stay here again on a visit to Porto.
