Oporto Street Fonte Taurina - Riverfront Suites

Beatiful area, great views from the balcony . Breakfast was not bad but one day they lost power and we could not even get coffee in the morning.

The area was great handy to mist things down near the river. The staff were lovely. There it ends. Tiny rooms with absolutely no sound proofing we were on the 2nd floor and all we heard day and night was thunp thump thump above and beside us . We complained but nothing was done . They leave ear plugs beside your bed which don't help . Also there is a sign in your room that says take shoes of when walking in room . That says it all . We hardly got any sleep the 2 nights we were there and I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone .

Unbeatable location in the heart of the Ribeira; nicely designed, clean & compact suite with river view; fresh and ample breakfast.

Not one to leave bad reviews but the property description doesn’t match with the experience and I wouldn’t want others to lose money from booking a stay here. Booked a 4 night stay but left after 1 night and received no refund. I appreciate this is a central location so some street noise is expected but what we didn’t expect was to be kept awake until after 2am due to a boat party. There is no noise protection from the room, genuinely felt like the bed was on the boat party even with ear plugs. Would avoid if you want a peaceful stay.

Staff was really nice and made our stay wonderful. Breakfast was very healthy and was wonderful. Small hotel size made the stay feel welcoming. Hotel is in the perfect location, right near the water and center of historical area The reason I didn't give the hotel a very good rating is because the room REALLY smelled musty and of old cigarettes. The rooms are very small, which is fine, just be aware there is not much space. In addition, this hotel was completely retrofitted/renovated a couple of years ago and for some reason whoever designed it put a large see- through window between the bathroom and main room; why would have a clear view of my partner in the bathroom??

So, I am not one for negative reviews but this place needs a major warning. We had booked for three nights and were put in room 1. This room directly faced the street and you were visible at eye level with tourists as they walked past. The room is small with enough space for the bed only. We checked in and offloaded our stuff and on our return we felt very uncomfortable. During the evening we had people knock on the window and at one point a couple actually took a photo of us sitting on the bed. It felt very unsafe and whilst the remainder of the hotel might be excellent, Room 1 should not be sold unless major changes are made. We contacted the hotel who were not able to move us so we left that evening and checked into another hotel which felt much safer. Sadly the hotel management refuse to accept that the room is not fit for purpose and claim that area is safe. I would argue that this is not until case and their suggestion of closing & locking outside shutters to prevent people from looking in was both ridiculous and turned the room into a cell.

Great location nearby the river Douro. Small, unpractical rooms with no aircon and only a ceiling fan. Low level of service as it was impossible to get an extra blanket even though the front desk staff was supposed to be at the reception (which they weren't). No cleaning or resupplying of the room during our two-day-stay

Great view, staff was wonderful, breakfast was fantastic. Slightly smaller room and was a little loud at night being right on river but overall a fantastic room/stay

Very cool to be right on the Ribeira with river view. Breakfast was beautifully laid out and plentiful. Alexandra was very friendly and helpful.
