The initial reaction when you walk in is this is a breathtaking old world hotel. The lobby area is spectacular and the doorman with the top hat and elevator with the leather seat takes you back to another age. Our room was spacious snd looked out over the pool and a view of the city. But it’s the little things that make you question if it’s really a 5 star property. The door stop was broken and consequently the door handle had made a hole in the wall. The display of oranges at breakfast were moldy. The decking around the pool needs repairing and despite two requests no one ever brought towels to the pool or cleaned up glasses and food left behind from other guests. While these are small things, they are things that a top hotel doesn’t overlook. We enjoyed our stay but likely won’t return as it just wasn’t our vibe.

We stayed in the Wine and Books Hotel for Seven nights .The Hotel should be rated 7* .We have travelled worldwide and this is by far the best Hotel we have stayed in .The staff are very special , working as an excellent team to make us feel at home. Special thanks to Camilla and Soraia on the front desk and to the food and beverage manager and all the restaurant and housekeeping staff for excellent Service which went above and beyond what we expected...Nothing is too much trouble for this excellent team. The room was quiet and comfortable and the food and breakfast is the best we ate in Porto. We truly felt we were leaving good friends by the time we left .Thank you all for a truly great stay. OK so we arrived very early and the whole of the front and one side of the hotel is surrounded by construction for the new metro. I really feel for the staff but they were handling it well. We did have to wait a long time to check in but that was because they wanted to give us a room away from the building work. The junior suite was great and the welcome was fab. Breakfast was stunning and the staff were adorable.

Partner and I stayed at Casa da Companhia for a week - it was one of the best hotel experiences of our lives! From check-in to the attentive breakfast service and continuing through check-out, we were thrilled by the warmth and quality of service of the staff. Recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, and a day tour of Douro were all top-notch, and we'll be passing them onto our friends who follow us. Location is on Rue das Flores - a pedestrian-access only street. If you have significant mobility concerns, I would recommend reaching out ahead of time to the hotel to coordinate your arrival transportation. Location cannot be beat - we walked everywhere and were very happy with our access to a number of sights, restaurants, the waterfront, etc. There was a minor hiccup (no fault of the hotel) regarding another guest on our floor who was smoking in their room. The smell subsequently made its way into our room via the ventilation system. Before leaving for a dinner, we notified the front desk and they took immediate action, assessing the smell in our room. Upon our return that evening, they offered to place us in another room overnight, if the smoke smell persisted. When we returned to our room, the smell had dissipated and we declined the extra room - but we greatly appreciated their responsiveness and offer of alternative accommodations. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed. I enjoyed the dry sauna and indoor pool on a rainy day and found both to be very well-maintained. We'll be recommending this hotel to our friends and family and are looking forward to returning to Porto and Casa da Companhia.

An obvious first class hotel. The room was exceptionally appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was stunning with all marble, separate water closet, shower and double sink vanity. Two closets for hanging and multiple drawers. Very quiet when windows were closed but opened to get the Porto city vibe, when desired. Great location and easily walkable to river or around town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel team was gracious and helpful. The gym was small but had everything you needed to maintain some workout routine on vacation! We didn't enjoy the spa but toured it, including the indoor pool, and it was beautiful. The bar was cozy for a pre-evening drink and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel as it will make your Porto experience one to remember!

4dias em família. O atendimento foi espetacular do início ao fim. Sempre muito atentos. Quartos com camas muito confortáveis e bem isolados do barulho. Têm estacionamento fora do hotel, mas é 1min de distância e o valor diário de 10€, o que é um excelente preço tendo em conta o que se pratica na zona. O rooftop é bom e têm algumas mini festas que são agradáveis (e acabam às 21:30), por isso é óptimo. A limpeza dos quartos é impecável e não tenho mais nada a apontar. Só não experimentei o pequeno-almoço por ser um valor demasiado alto para os preços de um pequeno-almoço normal. A repetir de certeza!

Stayed 4 nights upon arriving in Porto. For a 3 star hotel the property is very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and offer a closet with a safe, a kettle and tea/coffee service, a small fridge that is stocked but still room to put a beer, wine bottle or water bottle in to chill. Several outlets but no usb ports. Bathroom has a bidet. Shower had good water pressure. It’s actually a tub/shower combination. Only thing missing was wash cloth. Didn’t get one in either of my Portugal hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, Starts at 7. Several options from eggs to pancakes, side dishes, so many fresh breads, cereal, fancy coffee machine, fresh juices. There is also a bar at the hotel but we didn’t visit it. Next door is a 3 store mall with a full service American size grocery store to buy water, snacks, wine etc. at very affordable prices. One block away is the Mercado Bom Success, an upscale food court. We ate dinner there twice. The hotel is in an area called Villa Nova so a 30 to 40 minute walk from the historical center. The metro is 10 to 15 minutes away, Casa de Musical stop, which will take you to the historical center in 15 minutes. I would stay here again if ever in Porto.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Porto for 2 nights recently as part of a work trip. The hotel is in a good location, about 10 mins drive from the airport. There are a few small shops and bars / restaurants nearby. The rooms are nice, a great size and come with all the usual amenities that you'd expect from such a hotel. I ate in the bar on each night, the food was great and very good value for money. The service provided by the 2 bartenders was also great! I'll be back again in early summer and would recommend to anyone looking for a good hotel in Porto.

This hotel is incredibly well located, right beside the stunning Clerigos church, within a very short walking distance of Porto’s cathedral (Se), Sao Bento station, Lello bookshop and so many other of the city’s top attractions. Despite its fantastic location, the narrow streets in front of and beside it are very quiet, with hardly any cars going by. I was impressed by how clean the spaces were, I could see my own reflection on the walls and the floor! The staff was also extremely nice and friendly. I loved the fact that a basic but very good breakfast is included in their very reasonable price. Throughout the day, you can also help yourself at any time to a very tasty coffee, some fruit and even some housemade typical Porto wine, which shows that they make an extra effort to make you feel at home. Of course, given how much money you save by staying there, you can’t expect any kind of extra luxury. For example, some of the doors’ and drawers’ handles were loose, a few elements were a bit old and the room was quite small, even though it was also very clean, with a very comfortable bed. Obviously, those minor details didn’t undermine in any way the positive overall impression I had of the establishment. I really recommend it to all those looking for a clean, comfortable, charming and well-located place to stay. Just be aware that you obviously won’t get any extra glamour with it, which you shouldn’t expect anyway, given their great prices. I can’t wait to go back!

First, the staff, the best part of our lovely stay here. From the warm welcome at reception from the staff who immediately come to know your face and room number when you collect your key each day, to the beautiful woman working the breakfast service who so kindly and carefully prepared us a wrapped breakfast for our very early check out. The staff are the best part of this great hotel, hands down. Smiling, helpful, I can't say enough how lovely they all were. The location is excellent, in the heart of the city and with bars and restaurants all around. The double windows do a fantastic job of keeping the noise of that out when you want too. The room was small but comfortable. I would only have very slight feedback which I hope could be constructive. The beds in our 'twin room' could only be pushed about 4 inches apart due to the fixed bedside lockers, so this is small and could be too close depending on who you travel with. The bathroom was a little rundown but clean and perfectly functional; additions of shelves or hooks to allow you to store some cosmetics in there (as the counter was very small) would be great for comfort. The pillows were strangely uncomfortable to us, but that's a personal preference. The breakfast was fantastic and again, the lady working in the mornings is a beautiful person, helpful, smiling and unfailingly good-humoured. If that's one of the first people you meet in porto, you're guaranteed to love the place. I would happily recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at the One Shot, Porto for three nights in mid October and found the hotel (apart from the ongoing metro works nearby) charm personified. All the members of staff we found friendly, polite, and warm, with a an excellent knowledge of the local places of interest. Quite obviously this is to be expected of most hotels, however on our last nights stay I had the misfortune to have left my travel documents in a taxi. It was close to nine o'clock. The duty manager, we felt, went above and beyond his role by providing all the help we needed to obtain copy documents. To which we cannot thank him enough. When booking the One shot do not be put off by its price and opt for cheaper alternatives, and the end of the day its all about the service one receives, and as we all know the cheaper alternative can often prove the more expensive in the long run. If the owners are reading this review give the members of staff a huge pat on the back for services above and beyond a call of duty. Richard and Ann Sinclair.

Da dove iniziare? Ho l'imbarazzo della scelta. -Personale inesistente, nel senso letterale della parola. avendo prenotato il viaggio tramite agenzia, mi sono limitata a chiamare l'hotel un paio di giorni prima della partenza per confermare il nostro arrivo. Nessuna risposta neanche dopo vari tentativi e telefonate ripetute. NESSUNO HA MAI RISPOSTO AL TELEFONO. Stessa identica cosa via mail, nessuna risposta. -Una volta arrivate di sera a Porto, davanti all'hotel pronte per fare il check in, NESSUNO CI HA APERTO, pur avendo suonato ripetutamente. Abbiamo più volte provato a richiamare i numeri di telefono indicati vicino al portone e, di nuovo, nessuno ha risposto. Disperate, eravamo in procinto di cercare un'altra sistemazione, quando abbiamo incontrato per caso dei turisti che alloggiavano in questa pessima struttura, che ci hanno aperto la porta e spiegato che loro hanno avuto lo stesso problema. Anche loro sono riusciti ad entrare grazie ad un turista che alloggiava lì e che aveva le chiavi. Una volta entrate c'era sul banco della reception una busta con i nostri nomi e la stanza assegnataci con la chiave. Ma nessuna traccia, anche nei giorni successivi ed a qualsiasi ora, di un membro del personale -LA STANZA: puzza di chiuso e un odore terribile

I’ll start with the positive. It’s a lovely property, well-maintained and beautifully decorated. The off- season price was good, and the location excellent. Sadly, that’s where the positive stops. Despite its beauty, it’s really a three star hotel at best. I booked a superior double. It was Toney, even by European standards. There are no drawers and the closet was 35 cm wide with no shelves. We couldn’t unpack and there was barely room to have our luggage in the room. We came back to an unserviced room and when I questioned it, was told we had to put out the card for cleaning! The front desk staff are frequently absent. When I lost my card key - my fault, I know - the receptionist told me I should be more careful and had to call someone to find out how to make another. They locked the doors at 10 on NYE and took some time to let us in at 10:30. They told us the bar was closed, but let another couple into the staff door and I saw them having drinks on the patio shortly after. I can’t recommend this place.
