The car park was secure. Close to apartment so easy to get luggage to and fro. Room was very big, king-size bed, microwave, fridge, kettle coffee machine, utensils. Table/chairs. Milk , tbags, coffee, sugar and sweetners left for us. A good sized TV. Bathroom with shower. Lovely warm room. Went with partner and two dogs. Beds for the dogs, dishes and a welcoming doggy hamper. Garden was secure. Gas ovens outside and barbecues. Did use oven, easy to use! Showers outside and a lovely big hot tub. Happily cook on the premises or there is a local shop, cafes and pubs to go to. Very quite village. Lots of walks. Don't have to use your car, everything close to hand. Loved the place, will be back!!

I was made to feel very welcome at the Ramblers rest from when I'd asked to be able to check in early to when I left a couple of days later. The room had everything I needed with complimentary coffee pods and real (not UHT) milk as well. The roome was warm, clean and the bed really comfortable The whole experience was excellent and I'd have no hesitation in recommending this to other visitpors to the area looking for a place to stay.

Such a wonderful little night away, the owners were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. we arrived a little earlier than planned but they had the family room ready for us. It was very clean and had everything you needed, the honesty cupboard for any little extras was also very handy. We ate at the local restaurant the Prince of Wales, the food was delicious and great service you get 10% a bottle of wine if staying at the ramblers. Beautiful location and although it was a pretty chilly outside in the evening the room was lovely and warm. May I also add, the beds were ridiculously comfortable, the best nights sleep we all had in a long time! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Perfect location and our very welcoming hosts, Nikki & Terry, have put a lot of thought and effort into making Ramblers Rest such an excellent base from which to enjoy the nearby fabulous Dartmoor walks. Spacious room with en-suite, comfy beds and kitchen facilities were ideal. Super cafes and pubs on hand. We’ll be back and looking to bringing a larger group. Many thanks.

A lovely place. The rooms are immaculately clean and full of really thoughtful and sustainable touches. The beds are really comfy and offer a great night’s sleep after a long day on the moor. Nikki and Terry just can’t do enough to make your stay a good one and they are incredibly thoughtful and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend to anyone making Princetown their base for activities on the moor. Great for: families, hikers, DofE staff, people with doggies, people who like hot-tubs, people who like lovely hosts. Warning: dangerously good coffee, cake and breakfasts in the Fox Tor Cafe next door.

A Home from Home Big room with kitchen including coffee machine, microwave, toaster and fridge. The real milk it the fridge was a fabulous touch. Nikki and Terry were very friendly with good local tips about the pubs and cafes. The hot tub was fabulous 😉

Excellent stay, hosts were friendly, kind and helpful. Room was great and it was everything we wanted it to be. It was a nice and peaceful, relaxing stay in which we would stay there again. Apon getting to the Ramblers retreat we were greeted, booked into our room and led there to be shown everything. We were also shown the hot tub and some basic instructions on how to use it and be safe using it etc. after that, we were left to ourselves and we had ourselves the most amazing stay. We found it be relaxing and exactly what we were looking for in a get away.

Friendly welcome, very comfortable bed, well equipped self catering room. In the heart of Princetown with a convenience store, 2 pubs, 2 cafes and a chip shop within 2 minutes walk and walks on the open moor on the doorstep. And just in case it rains, there is a drying room and board games. Perfect

Stayed here for New Year’s Eve. Absolutely fantastic place to stay, hosts couldn’t have been more accommodating for me and my dog. Brilliant location up on the moor with walks right on the doorsteps. Great facilities at the b&b with a massive hot tub that really made the stay extra special. I will be back soon!
