There's a lot of mixed reviews online, mostly complaining about high prices and outdated rooms. Let me share my personal experience. The price online was 100 RMB higher than the walk-in rate at the front desk. As for the room, it wasn't visually run-down. Being in the forest, it was quite humid, leading to a slight musty smell, but the hotel provided incense. There was a complimentary fruit platter and drinks upon check-in. The bathroom was spacious, towels were reusable, and there were bathrobes and toothbrushes. The highlight was definitely the electric blanket! With the typhoon bringing a cold snap in October and a bit of rain getting us wet, that electric blanket was a lifesaver! After a shower, I quickly snuggled into bed – so warm! Maybe it's because autumn is approaching, but despite some online reviews mentioning noisy cicadas, I didn't hear any. The sound of rain actually made for great sleep. Now, about the park experience: the service was excellent! The electric carts were readily available with just a short wait after calling. It's very close to Rhino Falls, and there's also a shuttle service. The small animals are semi-wild, so they're not particularly cuddly, but if you really want to interact, there are paid feeding and petting options. A leisurely stroll around the entire circuit takes about 2 hours. We took the electric cart at 4:10 PM and were back at the Wetland Restaurant by 6:00 PM. The red pandas don't come out for dinner, but you'll be accompanied by grey cranes and other birds. There were also ethnic minority performers singing – a great blend of natural environment and cultural ambiance. It was a bit pricey though, at 199 RMB per person. Breakfast for two was included with the room, and the hotel even gave a free breakfast to our child during check-in. For a free breakfast, it was quite good. The red pandas were observed from a distance, but the grey cranes seemed quite bold – one even snatched a fried dough stick right off my sister's plate! Feeding them is not allowed, so we had to call staff to shoo it away. Overall, I feel it's a great and worthwhile place to bring kids. Finally, I want to mention that we took a taxi here. From the train station, there's a bus to Sun River for 25 RMB per person, and you can take it back too. Just plan your time accordingly, it's very convenient, and each way takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes.
