Hotel berhampiran Rancho Primicias, Puerto Ayora

The colomo hotel is a perfect location for a vaction in Peurto Ayora for our 1st time on this island , only 5min walk to harbour with shops, bars & Restaurants etc? The room are clean & a good size too , the bed are comfy with a/c, TV & free wifi available too. The staff are super friendly with Betsy on the front desk who will do anything for you with a smile. Very polite and very welcoming .Breakfast is nice on the top floor where Alexandrea with always greet you with with a pleasant smile...lovely place with friendly people in totally unique part of the galapogas archipelago. We (me, my wife and our 5Y old daughter) stayed in Capitan Max B&B for five nights and it was literally perfect - best lodging experience in Ecuador hands down. After booking the room one of the hosts (Lourdes) contacted me and shared all the information I needed when arriving in Galapagos and she also offered a selection of tours we could take once on the islands. We booked two day tours and one tour on the island through them (incl. pick-up from the airport) and with her suggestions, we were able to see exactly what we came there for. The tours were done by respectable companies, everything went very smoothly and the pricing was fair. So I would definitely suggest organizing your day trips through them as well, no need to waste your time searching online or on the main street, you probably won't get a better offer. When we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of by the friendliest guy you ever meet - mr Pedro. He had some very good tips on the Santa Cruz island hotspots and how to get around town, he made a delicious breakfast, helped us with all the questions and even let us use his personal computer so we could participate on our parliamentary elections! Thank you so much! The room was clean and very nice, the hammock in a room was of course the instant favorite of our girl. The cleaning lady was placing her dolls in different places every day after she cleaned the room so every time we arrived from our day trip or a hike, our daughter could not wait to see where her dolls are this time. It was a nice game and it showed that all of the staff added something extra to our experience. B&B is situated just a few blocks (minutes) from marina and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby so you could not find a better spot to stay in Puerto Ayora. And you should also check out a little lagoon that is just around the corner - we were able to see sea turtles, seals and a lot of fish swimming there and the birdlife was also nice. So all of this review is a big praise to Capitan Max B&B and I feel it is justified. My regular reviews are not that exuberant but this time there literally was nothing they could have done better. They exceeded our expectations in many ways and made our Galapagos trip very memorable. When we talk about our trip then besides all the fantastic highlights of the nature that the archipelago offers, we always mention our lodging. So if you are going to stay in Puerto Ayora for some nights, then the only excuse why you should not stay in Capitan Max B&B is that they are fully booked on these dates.

My sister and I stayed at Hotel Brisas Del Pacifico. The hotel was basic, but acceptable, it had AC and an elevator, no breakfast or pool. It's a short, pleasant walk to the main drag and the water. We both got rooms with king sized beds. There were no exterior windows in either of our rooms. One faced the hallway and the other faced a wall. We only got a sliver of light in the morning because we were on the 2nd floor - room 5. The 3rd floor room had a bigger sliver of light - room 11. I'm not sure if they have king sized rooms with windows with any semblance of a view, I should have asked. It was clean and basic, but you should bring your own toiletries, there was minimal soap and I'm not sure if it's because the island is environmentally conscious or not - most places had the bulk toiletries. The internet was minimal and only available in the common areas. I didn't even have cell service in my room - because it was an interior room. Cell service on the entire island is spotty, so this isn't really a complaint, just a note to be aware of. The hotel is located just across from the town market, don't miss the empanadas in the evenings!

Excellent location, excellent location, and excellent breakfast!

Hotel is quite far from the waterfront, but its not a big issue as the walk is nice 15-20 min or you take a cab which is all time available for 1,5$. Its called Hostal but rooms are like in a Hotel. They are nice and clean. At the roof top you have nice view, tables and a bar which was not on duty when i was there. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wanted to change my flight and the receptionist was very helpful and even wanted to go with me to the agency in town which was unfortuntely not existed anymore. For it class i can strongly recommend to stay there

We had originally been planning to stay for 6 nights, then move on to Guayaquil for 4 nights but were advised against travel to anywhere outside the airport by the UK government. We decided to extend our stay at Royal Palm instead and were so glad we did. From the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel most welcome, and were looked after so well. Particular thanks go to Alejandro for helping us to arrange an amazing day trip to Santa Fe island during the extended part of our stay, and to Rita, Gustavo and Danny in the restaurant. Cristina, the Sales manager who I had been in touch with prior to our visit had arranged a 5 day tour package which was really great. There was one day when we were due to leave the hotel early in the morning for a tour, but the restaurant opened 15 minutes early for us so that we could get breakfast before we left which we really appreciated. The hotel was not too busy and in fact restoration work is going on, but it was not obtrusive in any way. There were a couple of largish tour groups which came in during our stay, and the only downside to this was that the tour director of one of them insisted on his group meeting in the bar at 1845 each evening of their 4 nights there for a briefing which was very loud and meant that nobody apart from them could use the bar so we had to sit inside the restaurant in order to have a drink and a quiet game of cards. The weather at the hotel is a little different to that experienced at the coast, but that is due to the fact that the hotel is up in the cloud forest, and actually meant that it was not too hot. We did have a problem one night when the AC developed a fault but that was fixed as soon as it could be - it took a day or two but the staff sorted us out with a fan in the interim - and normal service was resumed again. I cannot emphasise enough how good the staff were from our arrival to our departure. The food in the restaurant was excellent - no complaints at all. Breakfast was good- some days when there were more people staying at the hotel there was a buffet, otherwise order from the menu. We stopped on the way from the airport to the hotel at a site called Los Gemelos (see photo) and walked through the Scalesia forest where we saw twin volcanic craters which were just incredible. What a way to start the visit! We were very lucky to be given an upgrade to an incredible villa - it even had a sauna inside, although we didn't actually use it. We had a lovely surprise from the hotel on our 32nd wedding anniversary - we had been out all day on a tour to Bartoleme island and returned to the hotel absolutely buzzing at the sights we had seen and found that they had put a lovely tray of fruits, dessert and a drink out for us along with a very thoughtfully hand written card signed from the team.
