My husband and I spent 9/13 nights of our honeymoon as Casa Velas. We chose this hotel because of its great reviews, and it was one of only a few adults only ‘highly rated’ hotels. We had a wonderful time, which, in most didn’t disappoint. Pros The location of this hotel is near the marina, you can walk there within 5 to 10 minutes. The area is very safe, it feels very secure and everyone in and around the hotel was very very very friendly. The staff are by far this hotels biggest and best asset. So friendly, accommodating (within what they can do). Ramon and Ulrise worked non stop all day. The rooms are beautiful and are set within ground surrounded by lush trees, flowers and many iguana’s The cocktails were amazing and are exceptional value under the all inclusive, they would make almost anything, even if this wasn’t on the main menu The pool, reception, entrance, gardens and restaurants are immaculate and are constantly being cleaned and tidied. Also some friendly coy carp and turtles (which you can feed) Room for improvement The menu options are limiting, especially if you are staying longer than 4 days. Whilst the food was delicious, we have had some even more amazing food outside of the resort, a more diverse menu would be great for those staying a little longer. Before you travel be sure to check whether there are any events or weddings on during your stay, this was the largest downside by far. When guests arrived for the wedding/event that lasted about five days, our experience was negatively impacted by having to have buffet options for food… the calm, peaceful ambience was also affected. It very much felt like as soon as the wedding parties arrived, other guests were left to experience someone else’s holiday/vacation. Tipping Maybe it is because we are Europeans, and expected tipping isn’t something that we are used to… but considering this is a high end hotel that included tips, it felt strange to then we having to sign for drinks and food and tipping. Not saying that the staff do not deserve to be rewarded for their hard work, this isn’t in question at all, but it did feel a bit off. Whilst we would 100% recommend this hotel to any friends or family staying. We would make the recommendation of a shorter stay as the menu got very repetitive and there’s so many amazing things to see in at around Puerto Vallarta. Value for money 8/10

Looking to travel with family? Highly recommended! This is a luxury hotel with a ”boutique” vibe and Excellent service. The breakfast buffet is one of the best in PV (have stayed in Sheraton, Westin). The pool is well-maintained, the kids playroom is awesome (Thank you Bibiana!). The property is very modern, very well maintained, though rooms are a bit small. We stayed at the Marriott in Cancun as well, similar experience. Best budget luxury resort in PV.

El registro muy tardado, caso 40 minutos de espera, solo había una persona en recepción y tenían un problema de venta de habitaciones que no tenían disponibles. No había quien ayudara a agilizar el registro de los huéspedes que si traíamos confirmación y estábamos esperando a ser atendidos.

My husband and I stayed a week at the San Tropico Jan 5-12. We booked this hotel because we wanted a home style accommodation with kitchen after spending some 20 days at two Marina Vallarta hotels eating restaurant foods. We also liked to stay in the Marina area. This hotel has potential to become a great small hotel if they improve on maintenance and management. Location: San Tropico’s location is about 20 minutes walk to shops and restaurants. Not the most convenient but the walk is nice during the day. A taxi or Uber ride is better should one need to go out or get back after dark as the area is very quiet except for barking dogs when one walks past those luxury houses. The Service: All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Though the front desk is located in an open area, I would prefer the staff wear face masks while interacting with hotel guests given the Omicron is spreading fast and PV has got the most cases per capital in Jalisco early Jan. When I was at staying at the Marriott and Holiday Inn & Suite, all staff wore masks in both outdoor or indoor areas. Our suite was not serviced one day. We are late risers and usually have our room cleaned after 2pm. We noted that the cleaning staff usually came around 3pm most days. Last Sunday we waited till 3:45pm and no one came. I went to the front desk to check only to be told all cleaning staff were gone for the day. Think management should advise guests if cleaning services are unavailable Sunday afternoons. Hotel Grounds and Room: Hotel grounds are beautiful with lots of greens. The hotel has a small bar/ eating area that serves breakfast and simple lunch till 4pm. We did not try the food so cannot comment. The pool looks clean and there are plenty of lounge chairs available. The suites are very spacious and have full kitchen equipped with basic cooking utensils, cutlery and tablewares. The suite we had was very clean but there were some maintenance issues. 1. Loose toilet seat in the second bathroom. They fixed it quickly. 2. Kitchen sliding window wouldn’t lock. As we had a ground floor suite facing the street so we asked the maintenance guy to cut out a rod to keep the window shut at night. 3. Inconsistent water temperature. Think there is problem with the pressure balance. One gets either burning hot or cold water in the kitchen. En-suite shower ok but second bathroom shower experienced inconsistent water temperature sometimes. Also we could not use both showers at the same time, else no hot water. 4. Old and cheap cutlery inconsistent in number- 5 knifes, 4 forks, 7 table spoon, 6 teaspoons . Time to get new sets. Also same for table ware. Many plates and bowls are badly chipped. 5. Some linens are very old and need to be replaced This hotel offers great value for money but I personally would not mind to pay more if they improve on the above issues. Hotel yang bagus, bersih, ramah kakitangan mempunyai pertunjukan percuma setiap malam pada jam 9 malam tetapi saya tidak menikmati pelbagai kerana hanya penginapan tempatan, pantai tidak jernih air kotor dan di pantai saya ingin bersantai, nikmati sinar matahari untuk mendapatkan tan tempatan datang untuk menjual barang-barang yang sangat menjengkelkan. Saya tidak akan kembali lagi. Maaf diucapkan. Saya lebih suka tinggal di rumah saya pergi ke pantai rumah saya. kecewa.

Nuestra estancia ha sido una invitacion a volver y volver, empezando por el servicio al cliente. Un servicio de primera desde la persona que te recibe en el hotel y te abre la puerta del auto en donde llegas, las personas que amablemente te atienden en recepcion con una sonrisa y un autentico sentido de servicio, los maleteros que se desviven por pedirte un taxi y ayudarte a cargar lo que traigas sin que se lo pidas, y cualquier persona que trabaja en el hotel en el area de recepcion indudablemente esta para atenderte con la mejor disposicion de servicio. Tambien en el area de alberca, y restaurantes. El lugar impecable, contando con una belleza arquitectonica. Su amplitud y distribucion tanto del hotel, como de los cuartos, te acogen. El hecho de ser un lugar abierto, nos deja sentir el clima, y el viento que corre es un sensacion muy agradable. La decoracion del lugar es calida y de buen gusto, dandonos un sentir de estar ”en casa”. La ubicacion del lugar da pie a salir a caminar a la Marina, tanto de dia como de noche, con completa seguridad, y todos los lugares a donde fuimos estan muy cerca, a 5, 10, 15 minutos en auto: Walmart, Centros Comerciales, Malecon, Centro, Restaurantes, Terminal Maritima. El acceso a la playa es una delicia, con unas vistas a la puesta de sol inigualables. Disfrutamos las actividades extras que inlcuye la estancia en el hotel, y el hecho de no ser invasivas a nuestros momentos de estar. La comida es muy buena, y aunque el precio es poco alto, vale la pena qued**** en el hotel a comer. Quiero cerrar felicitando el programa de Servicio al Cliente que tiene el hotel, ya que seguro es una administracion que se toma su tiempo en el entrenamiento en esta area a todas las personas que laboran ahi. El servicio al cliente hace la diferencia en una experiencia, y eso es lo que buscamos al ir de vacaciones, vivir experiencias gratas y memorables. Felicidades por su excelente servicio a todas las personas que laboran en Club Regina Puerto Vallarta!

Don’t believe any terrible reviews. We adore this resort. Visited mid January for the 2nd time. It was just as enjoyable as it had been in 2018 and we will definitely return next year! It’s nicely contained but not at all cramped. Very friendly and hardworking staff. Bartenders were always generous. Beach very swimmable. It’s actually much preferable to be at a more midsize resort with children and elderly. Also the 10 min trip from the airport is really convenient as opposed to the hour long journey with other places. Being situated right in town is convenient as one can cheaply cab around if desired. On the beach we purchased a boatride, hair braids, as well as horsebackriding from folks passing by and had a great time. There is also a huge supermarket a 5 min walk away with all kids of high quality clothes/sandals, souvenirs, and other household things if something comes up. One of the main pools is actually slightly heated (which we have not seen anywhere else, and we have been to many Mexican all-inclusives on both the east and west coasts) which makes a huge difference. Obtaining pool loungers was never an issue even midway through the afternoon. Sure the rooms need updating but we don’t spend much time in there anyway. Some people have mentioned issues with the kids pool (?broken tiles); my kids, as young as 2, had 0 issues. Bring a lifejacket/swimvest if the kid is under 4 or 5 as part of the kids pool is moderately deep. The a la carte restaurants probably leave something to be desired but we only went once with the 4 kids along. Buffet certainly had everything we wanted and the waitstaff were very enthusiastic and attentive. It’s very reasonably priced, but don’t discount this place. Highly anticipating returning in 2025!

Location is key as it is the only hotel on the much desired Marina with yachts and boardwalk filled with shops, bars and restaurants It is an older hotel which means rooms are huge and all have balconies. Very clean and staff was very attentive. I opted out of the all inclusive plan. Highly recommend and there is public ocean beach access nearby.
