Beach Box Perhentian

We wanted a 7 days beautiful holiday and instead it was a dream. Cozy room with breathtaking view and super clean like the whole hotel. Cuisine above all expectations, with attention to ingredients and presentation from breakfast to dinner. The restaurant overlooks the water and it is not uncommon to be surrounded by different types of fish. Julie (owner's sister), was a wonderful host. Thanks to Mark, Karki, Aiman, Muzz, Kumar and Halim (the boatman) for welcoming and treating us like royalty. Cristina and Mirco (Italy)

It was my first time visiting P. Perhentian with a group of 10 friends, and we made the best decision to stay at this quaint 9 bedroom hotel. Though it is not rated as a 5 star hotel in terms of facilities, it made up for it as the one that provided "par excellence" service and warmth (as in a cosy friendly place to chill). The rooms were large, clean and comfortable and the meals prepared in "omakase" style were delicious and sumptuous. It was exciting to guess what our next meal is going to be but each dish did not disappoint including the vegetarian meals prepared for one of us. Kudos and a very big TQ to Niko, Su and the rest of the crew for making our stay a memorable one and many of us in the group will be back again. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone planning to visit P Perhentian!!!

We recently stayed for close to one week at Beach Box. We were very happy with our stay. -＞ venue and rooms are modern and clean -＞ location wise it's right on the beach -＞ food is great -＞ AC worked perfectly -＞ communication over email before our stay was smooth -＞ there was an issue with a bug in our room, but this was taken care of immediately What stood out the most was the hospitality and how friendly Yuen and Nico are. All stay really went the extra mile to make sure we had a good stay. Always want to share some items that we did not find great. Honestly, with the many upsides a serious challenge. -＞ although the venue is right on the beach, there is no actual beach with sun chairs where you can lay down -＞ the rooms downstairs directly face the common restaurant area, although we did not experience issues regarding noise. -＞ the 50% deposit upon reservation is quite steep, and paying by bank transfer (e.g. instead of Paypal) is quite costly A top tip: -＞ the Tuna Bay restaurant sells international brands of ice cream -＞ you can walk in the direction of Perhentian Island Resort using a trail (e.g. check Maps.me). Trail is a bit steep at places with mosquito's. Do not wear flip flops.

Excellent restaurant gastronomique. Menu unique selon arrivage, de grande qualité et d'originalité. Réserver en avance, auprès du personnel très accueillant qui enregistre vos préférences en termes de piment et d'allergies. N'oubliez pas de commencer avec un très bon cocktail ou jus de fruit avant de déguster votre repas. Attention le restaurant Beachbox n'est pas toujours ouvert le midi. Bon appétit et, surtout, bonne dégustation !

Standards in this hotel are excellent. The staff were absolutely lovely. Julie (part-owner) had the most incredible attention to detail and worked tirelessly to obtain her exacting standards. The rooms were nice and clean. There is a busy 5* PADI dive shop next door if you like diving (not that that was noticeable in the hotel). They don't use plastic bottles and all the water and ice are filtered which tasted great. The food was fantastic with great views over the bay. We stayed on the full board package (set menu so be sure to tell them what you can and can't eat at the time of booking, they were great with me as I don't eat rice - I know! In Asia!) and put weight on while we were there, it was too good to leave! Try the cheese omelette for breakfast - was one of the best I've ever had (and I had it twice!) The resort is seconds from the jetty so you don't even have far to walk when you arrive. If you are anything like us, you'll have to be dragged away and you'll wish that jetty was further away!!

This place is fantastic. From the idyllic setting, to the service and friendliness, the place has it all. Ignore all of this…the food is to die for. Had lunch here and are already making plans to go go back. Absolutely the best food on y we’re doing a lamb pie with mashed potato and salad on our first visit and it was superb.

Much better than we could ever dream of. Perfect end to our six-month long trip around the world. Huge thanks to all the staff for making our stay so special. We are super grateful for your way of being ❤️ And thanks for the delicious food 😋 All our best recommendations for this wonderful place.

We chose Beach Box after reading all the raving reviews shared by many others. True enough, they did not dissapoint! We went there to celebrate our birthdays. We were surprised with a delicious birthday cake after our dinner!! Totally caught us by surprise! Great hospitality, very attentive towards their guests needs, always willing to serve, super yummy foods comfortable room and many more to mention. Thank you Yuen, Nico, Pipa, Halim, Eve and the rest of the crew for making our stay very memorable. We came as strangers but left as friends. We missed this place ready. Beach Box (August 2022). We were in a comfortable family room upstairs with attached double bunk bed set up for the kiddies. Food was ok but wouldn’t say 1st rate and the early morning booking request for lunch and dinner tends to encourage guests to plan dine elsewhere. The kitchen capability could be be upgraded as Breakfasts are basic, preferably could have options based on a healthier style / continental breakfast. Staff were very pleasant. It’s no doubt been challenging times since Covid years. All the best 😅
