Hotel Golden Palace

Terrible experience rude staff, slammed the phone on my face when i asked for their menu card so that my ailing senior citizen mother could search for some simple food for herself. I felt terribly insulted and angry at their apathy towards my mother. Rooms are old and damp, its overhyped because of its location on blue flag beach, but again this place is desolate and lonely at night.

we are planning to visit puri in jan . I see two different website of your hotel with different contact number . One website claiming other false . I am little confused. I want contact details of your hotel.

Hotel Golden Palace, Puri was a mixed experience for us. Let me point out the pros & cons of this hotel: Pros: * The food is good. * It’s a 2-Star Hotel trying to become a 3-Star and they have the facility to do that, e.g. a swimming pool, a Bar, Restaurant, and a huge property right at the beach. * The rooms, at least the ones we took, were big with sea-facing balconies. * Room service worked fine and the service personnel were pleasant and courteous (especially the ones at their Restaurant). * It’s located right next to the Golden Beach that is run by the Orissa Govt. The Beach is super clean and comes at a premium of ₹20 for 3 hours and ₹50 for the day. You will not be allowed to carry any tucks (food) inside this zone, and there’s no one selling anything in it. So if you feel like eating, or drinking, something, you gotta come out of the gate and then re-enter. * So if you are trying to escape from the chaos of the city, this place can provide you with some quiet & peace. * And they have a nice, clean, swimming pool to beat the heat. Cons: * Like I said earlier, it’s still a 2-Star Hotel and it has quite some going to do to before it becomes a 3-Star. * Their wi-fi was a big problem for us. It would be down most of the times and would need repeated calling to the hotel’s IT guy to fix, we had to go through this everyday, even twice a day sometimes. With very poor cellular reception, and poor wi-fi (being provided by the hotel), you won’t be able to do much work out here. * The men at the reception needs some overhauling in hospitality ***ners. They have to learn to greet their guests with a smile every time. You cannot argue with guests to prove them wrong, and show them the “my way, or the highway” attitude when the argument does not go in your favour. * We had reserved 2 Deluxe Sea Facing rooms at a price of ₹7000 each-per night and the hotel’s website claimed to have Mini Bars in these rooms; well, they din’t. And when I enquired, the ones at the reception would argue with me that “a minibar is a small, but completely separate, alcohol section within an establishment.” And I would be like, “dude, which hospitality school do you come from, do you even hear yourself right now”? * These guys at the reception should also learn to accept that they do have problems and that they should address them rather than outright denying them and arguing with guests. * Perhaps the Bar and restaurant could operate for a li’l longer into the night…? 10:30 felt a li’l early for me personally. * Bathrooms needs to be cleaner. It is the best located Hotel in Puri for senior citizens because it is at the entrance of the Golden Beach but house keeping has to be improved and there is lack of professional touch. We tried various dishes in in-house restaurant and they were well cooked and tasty. Because of high charges, we could not upgrade our pool facing rooms to sea facing rooms.

As an American who only knows English, I was nervous about staying at a hotel in India. However, I shouldn't have been. The staff was extraordinarily friendly, accommodating, and helpful both inside and outside the hotel. The rooms have full hot showers, hygiene products, a double queen bed, plenty of tea/coffee, and a television. The hotel also provides a free continental breakfast with English and South Indian food. In front of the building, guests can experience the tranquil beauty of the Bay of Bengal on the hotel's private beach. The beach is immaculately maintained so that families and small children play outside at all times of the day. Guests can receive their free beach voucher in the hotel lobby. In the back, there is a long rectangular beach pool at the end of which lies a waterfall foundation. There are small marble animal statues at every end of the pool and wood chairs in which to relax. Just outside the pool there is a small, hidden tiki bar where guests can drink with friends. My aunt and I had refreshing mint mojitos on our second day. While the amenities and the stay were superb, the hotel staff added an entirely new level. They were always ready to help as a local guide, a helping hand, or an assistant at all times. Anything you need, they will ask. The owners are cheerful men who seek only to provide their guests with a luxurious respite from their daily lives. They personally ensure that every guest is cared for. I have never received this level of personal service in the US or India before. Please stay here if you can - It's a luxurious hideaway where you can enjoy the beauty of the Bay of Bengal in luxurious comfort and quiet.

Just avoid staying at this hotel for time being, this hotel is at it’s worst condition. Stayed up there for 2 days & changed 3 rooms in that span. The condition of the room was so bad wallpapers torned up curtains full of stains, kettle broken, the quality of the towel the give you won’t even feel to dry your hands with that. After showing all this to the ***ager the upgraded us to the suite room which was our 3rd room change , it was bad too! Central ac was leaking all the time door for main room was broken too! The bathroom size of suite room was smaller ad compared too that of deluxe which was surprising. I was booking mayfair but i had stayed up here two time before so booked up here but this was third & last. But food at this hotel super good there was no item which lacked taste.

Hotel room conditions are in pathetic condition we are staying in Sea Facing rooms on 2nd floor , all interior walls , bathroom , Ac all are in very bad condition, towel are just of throw condition , we are family of 6 persons but very disappointed to stay here, i stayed here in 2017 & 2018 but that time it was in good condition

Regarding location it's on the top list. The sea view rooms are the best. Only problem is as it's very near to the sea so maintenance is difficult and the AC was not working properly. Either it's very cold & if you increase the temperature the whole room becomes damp & wet. The restaurant is good. Chef is good. Bapin Das & Achinta Mondal the restaurant staff very helpful & courteous. It's on the green beach so very clean beach. Location wise the best.

I had come prior and had an amazing experience. So visited again. SO DISAPPOINTING this time. Absolutely no maintenance. The corridors smell like fecal matter. Service is so poor. Leaky roof ... peeling walls. Dirty pool. No coming back here again. Good part ... great view and good food.
