Beautiful Property, quiet Location. I would recommend a mid-week stay at this hotel. It's a quiet location where all you hear in the morning are birds. The dock is a lovely place to sit and relax. The staff , housekeeping, Kim and Manager Sonya, were quick to solve our issues. The king suite I reserved was not by anyone's standards a suite. It was a tiny room ( NYC tiny) with two very small wooden chairs. My friend and I would have tripped over each other. Also, there was no dresser and maybe a 14" wide area to hang cloths. However, thanks to Kim, the manager was called. She showed us the other available rooms, and there was one considerably larger that worked well for us.....room 205. If someone has a room above yours, you will hear every footstep, as you might expect in any historical home. I definitely wouldn't book on a weekend when they are extra busy with weddings. However, I'm sure it is wedding guests only. I have stayed at the other resort on Kent Island, the rooms are very nice and you don't hear your neighbors or the bar downstairs , the grounds are landscaped beautifully, the swimming areas are nicer, however it is right off route 50, so you hear the highway noise. So in the summer or a weekend I'd prefer the other resort. For a mid-week Spring or Fall stay I'd ask for room #205 at this resort again. Also, off season Monday and Tuesday the restaurant isn't open, so you have to drive for your meals, which wasn't an issue for us.
