Staff were friendly and accommodating as we arrived to Queenstown late due to plane landing delays that evening. We booked the twin bunk room and surprised at how big the ensuite toilet was - it could have been another room! Standard hotel amenities but we're especially delighted by the hot beverage vending machines as it provided us with a convenient pick-me up coffee whenever we needed it (travelling takes a toll on your body, for sure!). Social and dining spaces were plenty and the view at the rooftop that overlooked Queenstown was beautiful. Overall, a good stay but wished the app was less buggy and doesn't log guests out when we're offsite too long.

1. Location: It's convenient and great if you don't have a car as it's only 10 mins away from the city centre. There is a bus stop to go to the airport and city just next to the hotel. There's the Queenstown Trail track just down the road if you wish to have a pleasant walk along the lake. 2. Service: The guy who did our check-in did it like he was repeating a song that he was fed up with singing. Good for those in a hurry who like express check-in with 0 personalization or care but that was NOT a 5* check-in. 3. Room: Booked a standard room on Luxury Escapes, but I don't think the hotel should be on this ”high standard” booking platform. Our room was on the ground floor, so everybody could see us and our belongings. The room was old and small. We had very little room left being 2 people with 2 big luggages. One of the two glasses in the bathroom was still dirty from the previous guests. The blinds didn't work properly and we had to find tricks to close them so people wouldn't see us get changed or sleep! Your sleep might get disturbed if passersby are loud and drunk lol. The washing machine was literally just in front of our room door (a thin door) and woke us up super early one morning. The TV didn't work. Big lack of plugs outlets. Overall, if you're planning on spending the entire day outside and getting back to the room just for sleep then you're fine but don't expect anything fancy.

Booked a 6 bdrm apartment, in one room we found a pair of disgusting slippers under the bed, a pair of socks left inside the wardrobe, and a bath towel hanging behind the door. Window latches gone off 2 windows and tv in second lounge didn't work. To their credit they did fix one window and taped the other shut - note, sellotape does not keep a window shut for long... There are also no plugs to any of the bathroom sinks - it's pretty disgusting brushing your teeth and looking down the sinkhole at previous guests hair :( We went for the 6 bdrm apartment so we could all be together (& also booked a 2 bdrm for extra family), I certainly paid a premium for this as we could have got a couple of 3 bdrm places for a lot less. I did expect it would be overall cleaner and nicer than what it actually was so was pretty disappointed. The bathroom items provided are basic and no facecloths provided. Only 2 dishwash cleans could be done with what was provided in kitchen. No coffee sachets except decaf, and while there was a hot choc tin, it was almost empty and I’m not using something that many others have stuck their hands in. The dining chairs fabric is disintegrating and bits of the white material end up all over the floor (we would have like to have vacuumed halfway thru our stay because of this but there was no vacuum cleaner or broom). Nowhere on their website (that I found) did it say the apartment was over 3 levels – something my 75 year old mother did struggle with a bit, again this would have been a flag for us. So overall, it was handy being together but the apartment seemed old and tired and really not worth the price we paid. I did email the place to relay all my concerns, they have chosen not to reply to me. I also see on their website they only have reviews that they have sourced from elsewhere (I can't leave this there direct) so they choose the good ones...

We wanted to stay close to the airport, a short drive to town, with easy access to the highway towards Te Anau/Milford Sound. This hotel ticked all the boxes. At first arrival, we entered the parking lot and noticed how tight and small the parking spots were. After an elevator ride up to the lobby, we met with staff who were very professional and kind. We went to our room which was nice and updated, had a great view, and a spacious floor plan. We did have an issue with the sink, where it was clogged when we got to the room. While we went to visit Queenstown, a staff member unclogged the sink but didn’t clean it so when we arrived back, the residue from the clogging was still in the sink. A disappointment, and ironically a perk, was the small balcony. Most of the small balcony was used up by an air conditioner. The positive is you had a nice view of the mountains and Queenstown. The bed was large and comfortable. The couch, living area, and kitchen were really nice. We really enjoyed the shower and took advantage of the hot water while we had it. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The DoubleTree cookies are always a plus too.

Our experience from check in was a bit disappointing. The assistant took ages to find our booking then rattled off a lot of information re parking etc. If there is a lot to be relayed please put it on paper and give it out at check in. Our plans the next day were shattered when we went into Queenstown and found that a running event-marathon etc was on. No parking, centre in gridlock. It would have been great if the check in assistant had given us that information (or a note could have been put into our room) to save us lots of stress the next day. Our room was clean but very small. Bed only in the room- no space for anything else, no table or chairs. There are shops and eateries within a short walk and it is close to the airport.
Thank you for choosing our La Quinta by Wyndham Remarkables Park Queenstown hotel.

I stayed at the La Quinta Wyndham for 2 weeks in March of 2023. I didn't rent a car. The friendly staff went out of their way to teach me how to be able to travel around Queenstown New Zealand via the public transportation system. House keeping was excellent. They even put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher at times for me.

What a wonderful place to stay! Really helpful and friendly staff, very clean facilities, lovely setting with park next door, nice indoor and outdoor cooking and eating spaces, great coffee cart on site, 4-Square grocery shop just around the corner, short walk to nearby river and historic town centre, lots to see and do nearby. Already looking forward to my next visit :)

PPengguna TetamuExperience the most captivating view of the mountains from the location of this hotel. Across the lake to the snowcapped mountains. The spacious balcony is inviting on a sunny day. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows superb. The general layout of our apartment was spacious and equipped with bath tub and all the necessities of a kitchen are available. When we stayed, renovations were underway and although noise was not a problem (long weekend) the reduction in parking spaces was awkward. The only negative I could mention was the bar food was pretty ordinary and staff a little inexperienced but otherwise totally worth the money .
PPengguna TetamuThe decor reminded me of an Austin Powers movie - it was quirky and colorful. Our two rooms were quiet. The room amenities - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sparkling water, cookies, popcorn were appreciated. It is a short walk to downtown Queenstown. Our travel company booked our rooms along with our tours so I can not speak to price as it was all included in our trip. I would use this hotel again as the beds were comfortable and the rooms large and clean. Just be aware that breakfast is not served until 8 am - we missed it two out of our three days since we had early tours. When we were able to use it on our last day the ham & cheese croissants were great.
TTigerJamesQuite close to the town centre, within walking distance with free parking. Back in dec 23 there was a lot of road construction so the experience could be better. But the hotel staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Bed was comfortable and had a balcony (ground level) to dine out with beautiful skyline.
PPengguna TetamuWe really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were a family group so we required three rooms. Everything was beautiful, comfortable and cosy. However the highlights were the evening meal(s) we had at the restaurant. We stayed three nights and had such a wonderful time the first night we dined at the hotel that we ended up eating there every night. The menu was comprehensive, our group ordered widely and we all enjoyed each dish. I particularly loved the pumpkin soup, but the steak and pork dishes as well as the hamburgers , were equally popular. Attention was paid to detail, and this was especially the case with the deserts and their superb presentation. The staff were cheerful and generous and made us feel like welcome guests.
JJansenMarkHad to stay an extra night in Queenstown, due to a weather event. Booked Quality Inn, using new TRIP app. Everything went very smoothly from then on. Green Cabs dropped us to door in pouring rain, staff were pleasant, friendly, sorted room, spa and dinner reservations in a jiffy. Monika stands out, with her pleasant smile and blue hair :-) Didn't catch the name of the tall gentleman on the bar, and also waited on our table at dinner. Opened Bar early, so we could enjoy a wee drink before dinner. Had a nice wine selection. Good variety of GF meals and snacks. Even organised Green Cabs again the next morning to get our flight. All in all a great stay, and we will be back.
PPengguna Tetamu Friendly front of house and house keeping staff. Although there are staffing shortages everywhere, the staff here were always available and helpful. Our house keeping team although on a 3 day turn around service, did not get to service our room while we were there, offered towels and extra tea, coffee without hesitation when requested. Thank you so much! The decor is quite out dated and while at first it was off putting, (cream/green interior hallway and furniture, corridor stained carpets, seeing the size of our room and how clean it was made up for it. The bed was a king/possible super king, very comfortable and extra pillows provided. The continental breakfast is more than sufficient. Again the waiting staff I approached where happy to top up, add more (the pastries). Thanks for a wonderful stay!
PPengguna TetamuThe décor of the rooms were excellent and the small touches - such as the music that plays when you walk into the room, and the small bar area, the art work, and the welcome book - were really special. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were quite, and the size of the room was prefect for two people. There is a sauna available to use by in-house guests, which is excellent after a long hike. Overall, the quality of the room was value for money.
There is also a restaurant, but sadly it was not open the day that we stayed (Monday). We were quite upset about that as we had read very good reviews about the chef and food quality! Whilst the staff were nice at check in, they did not give much information about the premises (i.e. they didn't give us a tour or anything), and we had to ask a lot of questions.
The location is outside of town, but a short drive if you have a car, or a short bus ride (the bus stop is right outside the hotel).
Overall, I would highly recommend to stay here!
CCarlieMSWe stayed here two separete nights. We booked in advance and we were nervous to book the same hostel in case we didn't like it, but fortunately we did and it didn't dissapoint at all. The recepcionist was nice and welcoming to us, everything is clean, it has several kitchens and the common room is like a huge family room with sofa, covers, TV and board games all super cozy which is the perfect enviroment to NOT have a heart attack when you find out that the borders where you are connecting home are all closed and probably you'll have to stay in NZ forever (not a bad thing tho, but I was pretty poor at that point, lol). Anyway, the people is nice, the dorm room has its own bathroom inside which is a massive YES! The lockers are huge plus there are tiny lockers with outlets inside to put your devices (genious). The bunks are hardly bunks because they are pretty solid wood-made so even if your bunkmate moves a lot you won't notice. It has a courtine which is awesome for privacy, its own night light and outlets by your bed. Maybe the only downside is that the parking lot is really (really) tiny, which makes it very difficult to maneuver, specially when you have never driven in the left before, jaja. Other than that, awesome stay, if I ever go back to Queenstown, definetely would stay here again! :)
PPengguna TetamuI stayed here two nights on a Riviera Tour of New Zealand. The hotel consists of different linked buildings. However it is very easy to get lost despite them giving you a map. Our rooms overlooked the gardens unfortunately and not the lake. The rooms were ok. A bit tired and in need of refurbishment. However the beds were comfortable with good quality bedding and pillows. The location of the Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill that leads into Queenstown. The walk up is taxing for older people so be aware. The hotel has the usual facilities of bar, restaurant gym and pool. I can't comment on the gym or pool as we did not have time to use it. The outlook from the hotel is over the lake towards the Remarkable Mountains one of the locations used in Lord of the Rings. It is an absolutely stunning place. Queenstown has lots to do. We took advantage of this. The breakfast was good with hot and cold buffet. Plenty of fresh fruit and pastries as well. A group of us ate in the bar on evening after a tour. Everyone enjoyed their food. Drinks were not to expensive either. The place is a pain to find your way round, so allow time for getting lost when meeting people.
PPengguna TetamuStayed here for a week. Was a little apprehensive about sharing facilities as you never know what the other guests are going to be like but I was pleasantly surprised. Kitchen was immaculate and so was the bathroom/shower room. One toilet cubicle had a broken lock and the glass shower cubicle doors were a bit flimsy. The showers are in their own locked cubicle though. Cleaners came in everyday and refreshed towels in the kitchen/bathroom. Bedrooms are great size. We had a double bed and a bunk bed even though it was just the two of us but it was good having someone to put our things that wasn’t just on the floor. There were two fridge/freezers in the communal area and each room had their own labelled shelf as well as a numbered cupboard to store their food. There was also an oven, hob, microwave, toaster and two kettles. Note that if you just get the standard rooms, your personal towels aren’t changed ($3 to get a new one) and your rooms aren’t cleaned during your stay. There’s also some parking outside the lodge if you have a car/small van. The location is about a 10 minute walk into town and is close to some beautiful walks. Would recommend and would stay here again for sure.
