Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hidden Lodge Queenstown Only a 5 minute drive from the heart of town and central to all the local highlights that you will want to visit - make sure you take the 40 minute drive upto Glenorchy for some beautiful views. The property itself is immaculate with a homely feel but with everything you need. Shared spaces of dining room, comfy couches in front of a fireplace, sauna and even a hot tub! The rooms are comfy with everything you want after a day of exploring Queenstown. Super comfortable bed, strong hot shower and an incredible view from every window. As previously said by other guests - the highlight are the hosts David & Wendy. Knowledgeable and engaging locals who are happy to provide tips and suggestions to ensure you enjoy your trip to the fullest. David makes a great coffee and breaky and has plenty of wine knowledge to help you find the best wines in Queenstown, and Wendy is just a ray of sunshine who makes sure you feel at home while also giving the greatest tips on local restaurants and bars. Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay - I will definitely be back - maybe for Spring or Summer! Do yourself a favour and stay here when in Queenstown - you won’t regret it!!

Enjoyed a 4-night mini-break at QT Queenstown. Hotel is great and I’d highly recommend – perfect location (short stroll into town along lakefront); spacious rooms; and most importantly staff welcoming and professional (shout out especially to Louisa & Anthony on front desk and Darren & Erike(?) in restaurant/breakfast room – they’re great ambassadors for QT and made our stay extra special.

Ia adalah penginapan yang hebat selama empat hari tiga malam.
Pertama sekali, lokasinya sangat baik. Ia mengambil masa tiga minit untuk sampai ke kedai Nzone, tiga minit untuk info&track (bas pergi ke Glenorchy), lima minit ke fergburger dan fergbaker, dan sepuluh minit ke Kiwi Park dan lokasi kereta kabel . Ia mengambil masa lima minit untuk berjalan kaki ke perhentian bas lapangan terbang No. 1. Perhentian bas antara bandar juga berdekatan, jadi berjalan dengan beg pakaian tidak memenatkan sama sekali.
Sikap perkhidmatan di meja depan juga sangat mesra.
Walaupun biliknya kecil, 2 beg pakaian boleh diletakkan di bawah katil, dan tiada bau pelik di dalam bilik.
Walaupun dapur kecil, hampir tiada orang di situ pada waktu sibuk memasak. Restoran itu berada di tingkat empat. Persekitaran yang agak baik dan tidak ramai orang.
Ia sangat sunyi dan saya berehat dengan baik sepanjang beberapa hari lalu. mengesyorkan.

I stayed here two nights on a Riviera Tour of New Zealand. The hotel consists of different linked buildings. However it is very easy to get lost despite them giving you a map. Our rooms overlooked the gardens unfortunately and not the lake. The rooms were ok. A bit tired and in need of refurbishment. However the beds were comfortable with good quality bedding and pillows. The location of the Hotel is at the top of a very steep hill that leads into Queenstown. The walk up is taxing for older people so be aware. The hotel has the usual facilities of bar, restaurant gym and pool. I can't comment on the gym or pool as we did not have time to use it. The outlook from the hotel is over the lake towards the Remarkable Mountains one of the locations used in Lord of the Rings. It is an absolutely stunning place. Queenstown has lots to do. We took advantage of this. The breakfast was good with hot and cold buffet. Plenty of fresh fruit and pastries as well. A group of us ate in the bar on evening after a tour. Everyone enjoyed their food. Drinks were not to expensive either. The place is a pain to find your way round, so allow time for getting lost when meeting people.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and ate in the Observatory restaurant both nights. Service wasn’t too bad with friendly and attentive staff, the food was good too (prawn curry and chicken bao’s). I was on the fifth floor and had a nice big room that was a little let down by the view which overlooked more of the hotel rooms. Only issue I had was all of my towels were removed when my room was cleaned, so on the morning of checkout I had to dry myself with a hand towel which was obviously not ideal. Reception staff were okay but I didn’t find them overly personable compared to many of the their hotels I stay at. It’s only a short walk into town although be aware that when coming back the hill is a bit of a steep one - worth bearing in mind if you have children or elderly family. All in all though a pleasant stay

We booked a room with two single beds and yet they provided us with a King size bed upon arrival. We expressed our concern to the reception and they said there is no guarantee for the room type booked especially during peak season, and they even said it is a common situation in New Zealand, which I personally haven’t encountered in other 4 hotels during my stay. I ended up paying extra for an extra bed so that my frd and I can sleep separately. The customer service from trip.com provided assistance instantly when we expressed our concern to them and they agreed to compensate the extra that I paid. Apart from that, the hotel is clearly understaffed as there were times that there is no one at the reception and I didn’t think the staff were very attentive and helpful either. Also, there were not enough parking space in there car park so we were forced to park outside the hotel as directed by the staff but then the staff called our room at 6:30 the next morning telling us to park our car back into the garage as people started leaving. All things aside, the location of the hotel is great as it is beside the lake and is close to the city centre. To conclude, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to others.

Experience the most captivating view of the mountains from the location of this hotel. Across the lake to the snowcapped mountains. The spacious balcony is inviting on a sunny day. The beds are very comfortable and the pillows superb. The general layout of our apartment was spacious and equipped with bath tub and all the necessities of a kitchen are available. When we stayed, renovations were underway and although noise was not a problem (long weekend) the reduction in parking spaces was awkward. The only negative I could mention was the bar food was pretty ordinary and staff a little inexperienced but otherwise totally worth the money .

Whilst this is an hotel that is rated as a luxury hotel there are a few features which don’t justify that title. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable, and most have beautiful views of the lake. However there are a few things that are irritating. Being offered a coffee on arrival and then realise you have to pay for it, having to ask for enough tea and coffee every day, and always having to ask for more milk. The room service menu is very limited and not available when it says. We had to order an early breakfast which came in a carrier bag, with no milk or yogurt. Eating muesli dry is not fun! Apparently they had run out of yoghurt? I am sure when these minor details are ironed out the Rees would be truly classed as a luxury hotel.

The restaurant was nice and food was good, that’s the only nice thing I can say. Our room with a view was right on top of the car park. No privacy whatsoever and the view had a big tree in front of it. Not quite what we expected for $330 a night and it gets worse, please read on. On arrival and needing to use the bathroom I quickly found out the toilet brush has not been cleaned in months, it stank the whole unit out. It was filthy!! I complained immediately to a staff member outside the unit doing cleaning rounds. They sent a cleaner up to re clean the bathroom and get rid of the smell plus they replaced the brush. We were not offered a clean room, I was almost sick 🤢 at the time and I really thought that was the least they could do, that brush was disgusting and it will be forever imprinted into my memory. 😩 There was also Mould growing in the corner of the bath/shower, the place is not cleaned properly. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, they charge $20 a night for you to park your car and they take $200 bond at the beginning of your stay, charge you the $10 exchange rate and when you go to get your money back they charge you another $10 to give it back. A $330 room turn into a $360 room. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. No photos as it is a memory I hope to forget.

Nice hotel very close to the airport. The airport and the town are a good 20 minute drive away so don’t stay in this area if you want to be near queenstown. Comfortable room and nice shower. The restaurant for dinner made good food and the gym though basic is better provisioned than many around New Zealand.

TTina Frantzenbrilliant place- Amy and david so kind and thoughtful. The only two things I would suggest is more local literature and instructions for TV. Also they need to tell people how near the waterbus is to Queenstown- so convenient

TTrail52119469210Good location, comfy room with balcony with partial sea view. Had everything you needed but was a bit of a strange layout in the whole complex. To get to our room from reception we could get part of the way by a lift but then had to go outside twice to get to the right block. However, there was parking in the basement which had a direct lift up to the floor we were on. Like most places in Queenstown, there was a lot of building work going on & roadworks which made things a bit awkward but not impossible. Staff were friendly & helpful. There was a restaurant on site but we indulged in room service which was excellent.

PPengguna TetamuI stayed at the La Quinta Wyndham for 2 weeks in March of 2023. I didn't rent a car. The friendly staff went out of their way to teach me how to be able to travel around Queenstown New Zealand via the public transportation system. House keeping was excellent. They even put my dirty dishes in the dishwasher at times for me.

PPengguna TetamuThe decor reminded me of an Austin Powers movie - it was quirky and colorful. Our two rooms were quiet. The room amenities - coffee, tea, hot chocolate, sparkling water, cookies, popcorn were appreciated. It is a short walk to downtown Queenstown. Our travel company booked our rooms along with our tours so I can not speak to price as it was all included in our trip. I would use this hotel again as the beds were comfortable and the rooms large and clean. Just be aware that breakfast is not served until 8 am - we missed it two out of our three days since we had early tours. When we were able to use it on our last day the ham & cheese croissants were great.

PPengguna TetamuI booked this hotel so we could be close to LUMA. I read some really mixed reviews and was a little nervous. But we had the BEST stay! Right from calling up as I made a mistake booking online, the man who I spoke to was so helpful, accommodating my large family group over three rooms . It was a really really busy weekend at the hotel with Luma on and kings birthday, but the staff were all so lovely and friendly despite being run off their feet, Highlights were the comfiest beds ever, the fab spa pool which was a hit with us adults and kids( you book a slot at reception), and the amazing lake front view from the lake front rooms. There was even a kids corner near reception with Xbox game, books and a few toys. The reviews online had been average for the breakfast. While it wasn’t ground-breaking, it was more than fine and the custard danish pastries were delicious! Overall, we had a fab stay and would definitely book again.

PPengguna Tetamu Friendly front of house and house keeping staff. Although there are staffing shortages everywhere, the staff here were always available and helpful. Our house keeping team although on a 3 day turn around service, did not get to service our room while we were there, offered towels and extra tea, coffee without hesitation when requested. Thank you so much! The decor is quite out dated and while at first it was off putting, (cream/green interior hallway and furniture, corridor stained carpets, seeing the size of our room and how clean it was made up for it. The bed was a king/possible super king, very comfortable and extra pillows provided. The continental breakfast is more than sufficient. Again the waiting staff I approached where happy to top up, add more (the pastries). Thanks for a wonderful stay!

PPengguna Tetamu1. Location: It's convenient and great if you don't have a car as it's only 10 mins away from the city centre. There is a bus stop to go to the airport and city just next to the hotel. There's the Queenstown Trail track just down the road if you wish to have a pleasant walk along the lake. 2. Service: The guy who did our check-in did it like he was repeating a song that he was fed up with singing. Good for those in a hurry who like express check-in with 0 personalization or care but that was NOT a 5* check-in. 3. Room: Booked a standard room on Luxury Escapes, but I don't think the hotel should be on this ”high standard” booking platform. Our room was on the ground floor, so everybody could see us and our belongings. The room was old and small. We had very little room left being 2 people with 2 big luggages. One of the two glasses in the bathroom was still dirty from the previous guests. The blinds didn't work properly and we had to find tricks to close them so people wouldn't see us get changed or sleep! Your sleep might get disturbed if passersby are loud and drunk lol. The washing machine was literally just in front of our room door (a thin door) and woke us up super early one morning. The TV didn't work. Big lack of plugs outlets. Overall, if you're planning on spending the entire day outside and getting back to the room just for sleep then you're fine but don't expect anything fancy.

CCarlieMSWe stayed here two separete nights. We booked in advance and we were nervous to book the same hostel in case we didn't like it, but fortunately we did and it didn't dissapoint at all. The recepcionist was nice and welcoming to us, everything is clean, it has several kitchens and the common room is like a huge family room with sofa, covers, TV and board games all super cozy which is the perfect enviroment to NOT have a heart attack when you find out that the borders where you are connecting home are all closed and probably you'll have to stay in NZ forever (not a bad thing tho, but I was pretty poor at that point, lol). Anyway, the people is nice, the dorm room has its own bathroom inside which is a massive YES! The lockers are huge plus there are tiny lockers with outlets inside to put your devices (genious). The bunks are hardly bunks because they are pretty solid wood-made so even if your bunkmate moves a lot you won't notice. It has a courtine which is awesome for privacy, its own night light and outlets by your bed. Maybe the only downside is that the parking lot is really (really) tiny, which makes it very difficult to maneuver, specially when you have never driven in the left before, jaja. Other than that, awesome stay, if I ever go back to Queenstown, definetely would stay here again! :)

Pros
I shared a female dorm with three other women and had a great time getting to know those coming in and out. The shared bathroom was always clean (cleaned every day).
The communal kitchen is large and well-organised. You can make use of condiments that get left behind. As it was still cold, there are always fires burning both in reception and the common room. It makes the atmosphere very cosy.
The best service I got was from their information desk, which is located in the reception area. As I didn't have a credit card and businesses like Snowbiz in town don't accept cash, I was able to pay for ski passes and rental by making a booking at the service desk (they have a card machine and also accept cash).
Cons
This side of the hostel where my room was located, just experiences a lot of noise, as there are bars down below, despite the sliding door being sound-proof. Not all the reading lamps for each bed work and also need to be fixed. The shower leaked a lot of water, as the glass door doesn't properly close.
Overall though, a great stay and value for money. You do save on accommodation, as QT is an expensive town to visit.
