Very helpful and friendly staff and many spoke English. Our room was in the ”modern wing” which had posted signs in the hallways asking that you keep quiet. Filtered water was available from 5-gallon jugs at multiple locations in the hallways. The room itself was very comfortable. The bathroom area had two sinks, plenty of counterspace, and separate ”rooms” for toilet and shower. Room also had a safe. No A/C but windows did open -- and there was an overhead fan. You are able to close the window when sleeping and able to block much of the noise from overhead planes. Had two sets of blinds to block out any light. The grounds were well manicured and attracted various birds, to include the gorgeous Vermillion Flycatcher (see photo). At least three Llamas roam the grounds and the friendly house-cat, Sylvestre, stopped by to say hello several times (we sought him out the 2nd night). The restaurant had a large dinner menu and offered a nice selection of local dishes that were freshly prepared. We ate two breakfasts - buffet style; fresh fruit, cereal, breads, cold meats and cheese plus hot items (scrambled eggs offered each day). At one end of the parking lot there is access to a nice trail and the neighboring farm - we walked around this area and felt safe at all times. While we had our own airport-transfer organized, the hotel does state that they offer this service. It's about a 20-25 minute drive to the airport. For bird-watchers, there is an eBird location called ”Hosteria San Jose de Puembo.”

A great new hotel in Quito’s financial district, with plenty of great eateries around. The breakfast had something for everyone from cereal to toast, waffles to fruit. Staff were really attentive and always pleasant, polite and helpful. We chose this hotel as it had private underground parking, which was ideal and safe. My only criticism would be having to get the attention of someone to open the barriers to enter and leave. Thanks for a lovely stay, would highly recommend as an affordable stay in the city.

We had an exceptional experience at this restaurant! The food was exquisite, with each dish perfectly crafted and full of flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive, offering a creative and delightful selection that complemented the meal perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the evening. A special shoutout to Geovanny Armas, who made our visit truly memorable. He was incredibly attentive, took the time to explain the menu in detail, and made us feel right at home. His service added a personal touch that elevated the entire dining experience. Really good experience. From the start people super friendly and felt welcomed. Excellent service and location. Although is located in a busy street and area, there is security and really close to malls, restaurants, banks, supermarket and also a nice barber shop next to the premises. Breakfast to die for. Will definitely recommend.

We stayed here in late June after our plans to stay in Old Town were scuttled by Quito general strike and demonstrations. We found the hotel to be closer to a regular Holiday Inn rather than a Holiday Inn Express. The room and bathroom were a comfortable size. Comfortable beds and nice bathroom layoutBreakfast spread was kept hot and fresh and featured egges etc and Ecuadorian items. For the early birds there was a cart with coffee and a few breakfast snacks to tide one over till breakfast area opened. The area has a few local restaurants and a couple of restaurants next door. Many things were closed due to the general strike. But the area is a generally pleasant area with Quito's Carolina Park and Artisinal market with an 20 minutes or so walk. The telefrico a short cab ride away. The gym is on a top floor and one could use the equipment while enjoying the skyline views of quito. A nice way to enjoy a workout. Perhaps the best reason to stay here, however, is the staff. Breakfast area staff went out of their way to be helpful and get our day started on a high note. Front desk staff answered questions about the limited options available to guests due to the situation in Quito with honesty and professionalism and helpful advice. Special recognition for Maria at the front desk and German of the concierge staff for their assistance with friendliness and courtesy and above all understanding of the situation in Quito with the requirements of thir tourist guest. Not necessarily an easy task to balance but they did the job and balanced the various things in a marvelously guest friendly way and not skipping a beat in being helpful and effectively communicating with great command of English. Thanks for a good stay in difficult circumstances.

Ha sido uno de los mejores lugares en los que me he hospedado en calidad/ precio. La habitación que tuve fue una minisuit que incluía cocina moderna y bien equipada, barra, mesa pequeña, una mini área de oficina con escritorio y librero. El area de la habitación estaba bien delimitado, con mesitas de noche y un gran ropero. La cama increíblemente cómoda, tal vez una de las mejores que he probado. Tenía mucha luz natural lo cual agradezco. El baño en perfectas condiciones y la limpieza de 10. El único contra que podría tener es la ubicación ya que no es tan céntrico pero al mismo tiempo era perfecta para mi porque quería estar cerca a la Casa de la Cultura (por un concierto). Igualmente está cerca caminando de un Megamaxi, varios restaurantes y un Cinema antiguo muy bonito. También nos ayudaron al llegar temprano e irnos tarde reservando nuestro equipaje. Sin dudas volvería a hospedarme aquí quedé encantada, incluso aunque me quede lejos de otros lugares porque por el precio, la atención y la comodidad lo vale.

Hotel Reina Isabel was a very modern hotel and the view was beautiful. The staff was very helpful and professional and the room was super clean and nice. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was very delicious and there was a lot to choose to eat. The fruit was very fresh and the juice was so delicious.
