Iberostar Coral Holguín

I had a wonderful stay at the Iberostar Coral, Pasquero beach is beautiful about 7 minutes walk from the resort. I was blessed to have Laritza Hermandez Butler extremely helpful, caring and Yunior Butler very kind and always attentive. Ernesto room made always has a big smile, very kind and ready to help me, with attention to detail to make my room a little paradise of well-being. Thank you all. Louise R❣️

I want to take a moment to appreciate all the staff members of Iberostar Coral. Thank you for helping me to make my husband’s birthday so special. We were very happy with the service. The hotel is excellent, reason for which we will come back. The food is good, the beach is beautiful, and the suite was very clean. We absolutely love it. Thank you again for making feel at home.

We stayed at the Adults only side and the service was amazing, who made our stay were linet, Alex, yander, Willy, Carlos the entertainer, and the servers in the restaurant on this Side. Everyone made our stay enjoyable and well with the stay. Food was good! Enjoyed the rotation of the options every few days and the room was cleaned every day! Definitely would recommend this hotel if your looking for a relaxing getaway

We had a few reservations about going to Cuba with a lot of the reviews we had read, but this place had fantastic reviews. Everything was amazing from check in to check out. The Iberostar Coral Level is for adults only and is next to the Iberostar Selection which is for families. Coral Level has access to both resorts. I read a lot of reviews and they varied in their descriptions of this place. We were there from June 21 - June 28 2024 and this is what we experienced. There are 5 buildings with 12 rooms in each one. Each building has 4 Junior suites on the ends, upper floor and ground floor and they are clean and beautiful. They have a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub, a king size bed, wall mounted TV, sitting area with a desk and chair as well as a chaise lounge and small coffee table, a large closet with lots of hangers and a safe. The AC was the best we've had anywhere. All of the rooms have two loungers on the balcony or terrace with the Junior suites also having a table and chairs. The only difference between the two is on the ground floor the shower is outside not inside. The pool is gorgeous spanning across all of the buildings. There are 20 Bali beds and 3 other semi covered structures and lots of loungers and chairs. We never had any issues with getting a Bali bed but we were there in low season. There is a swim up bar and a couple of jacuzzi tubs behind the pool bar on a terrace. The beach is shared with the Selection side but again we had no issues with finding a lounger but I would imagine it would be different at full capacity. There is a beach bar and a small grill area for hamburgers and hotdogs but is only open at certain times. There is also a larger beach across a bridge which has a small bar, washrooms and it is also where the water equipment is(paddle boats etc.). I tried snorkeling but there wasn't much to see. At the Coral Level there is a 24 hour bar and a restaurant that serves A la Carte breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every morning there were eggs, bacon, sausage, hot cakes, fresh fruit, omelets, pastries etc. At lunch there was chicken, pork and fish dishes, salads, soups, pastries etc. For dinner there were various appetizers, pork, chicken and Lobster tails which we had at every meal we ate here. Our favorite appetizer was the fried cheese with pineapple sauce, simple but oh so good. There are 3 other A la Carte restaurants at the Selection side, the Gourmet, Mediterranean and Japanese and also a buffet. We ate at the Japanese which was decent and the Gourmet which was very good. My wife had the stuffed chicken legs which she liked and I had the Cordon Bleu Pork which was fantastic, cooked absolutely perfect and I could eat it every day. The service at both was fantastic. We ate at the buffet for lunch twice, once being Cuba day where there was pork that was grilled on a spit over charcoal and it was so tasty especially the chicharron (skin). First time to holguin. We usually go to Varadero. Holguin has much more vegetation and surrounded by mountains. May is considered low season. Hotel was at 50% occupancy. It’s very small. We met a lot people one restaurant, one pool and one bar. There are two floors. We recommend ground floor, we faced the pool and we had hot tub and an outdoor shower. You can walk to family side of the hotel, about 5 min walk. More action on that side, gym, a la carte restaurants, the entertainment was on the family side. Our side was very quiet. My only criticism is that the beach is a far walk (10 Minutes) there are however shuttles that bring you back and forth. You can’t walk to the beach at night, it’s too far and no lights. I would probably stay here again. There is butler service and you are well taken care of!

We, a group of 8 seniors spent an amazing week at the Iberostar Coral Holguin. The rooms are large clean and extremely comfortable. All with terraces or balconies facing the pool. Exactly as pictured on travel sites. The pool is huge so there's lots of room for any activity. Pool side activities were a blast from morning stretching, water aerobics, vollyball to Carlos singing and playing the guitar. The surrounding area has 2 hot tubs, lounges, tables and chairs for board games and is quiet enough to sit and read a book. I spent no time at the beach so I have no opinion. Make sure to join in for the Treasure Hunt! The food, as usual the shortages in Cuba are apparent. Although there was a shortage of fruits and vegetables. What was available was fresh and/or prepared deliciously. There was tons fish, beef, pork and chicken. The recipes they use gave us different dishes evey day. 30+ trips to Cuba and I have never had such tender beef, it was a treat! The service here completely blew us away. EVERY want and/or need was fulfilled quickly and happily by each staff member. From the department Managers to the butler service, the bartenders, the maid service, the poolside bar service, the bellboy/cart driver service, the chefs and servers in all the restaurants, the gardeners, the maintenance team and the lifeguards. The staff is so kind and courteous and they all work so hard. It was these people that made our vacation a dream come true. Special thanks to Adrian, Niege, Mara, Carlos, Junior, Laritza, Ronoldof, Rodolfo (unsure if I'm right, bellboy/cart drivers) and Frank the lifeguard, such a nice young man. We will be back soon!
