Hotel Villa Cimbrone

Stayed at Villa Cimbrone for a wedding. Wedding venue and grounds are wonderful. Hotel is complete opposite. So many factors go into poor review: AC in room could not keep room cool, room safe was not secured in the closet (you could literally pick up entire safe and walk out!), septic smell in bathroom, power went out several times throughout our 2 day stay, when power would go out at night, a bright emergency light would come on, trying to arrange luggage transfer was an ordeal, service and hospitality were almost nonexistent. Management was no help. I would not expect this from any hotel, much less a hotel that charges €2000 a night. Visit the gardens, stay at another hotel in the Ravello area.

Perfect start to our honeymoon. Hotel is stunning and truly 5*. First room was small #28 and disappointing but we were offered for a just a little more room #15 Dahlia which was perfect. The grounds are breathtaking. You need to be fairly fit to stay in Ravello (many steps) but it was a dream come true.

Exlusivity: zero exclusive. They charge €7 for hundreds and hundreds of tourist to come in. They have a party every night with music extremely loud. Last night we were not able to sleep. Service: terrible. The hotel is like a mile hike and they make it difficult to take your luggage. Refused to provide an iron. Rooms: dated but not charming dated like some historic four seasons. Overall: bed and breakfast with a nice garden for the thousands of tourists to enjoy. Room 14. 5/30/2024

Rooms not up to the standard of what they said about the hôtel,plus the air condition are not working so they suggest we put a standing fan. Not very professional at all. Gardens are very nice. Not advisable for children. A experience for 1 night only

I am writing this review as we are leaving this incredible place after one week. We have stayed in many five-star accommodations around the world, but this place particularly stands out. The garden is a piece of heaven, and the views from there are surreal. Staff are just kind and helpful and make you feel very special. Mariagrazia, in particular, is very nice, and her daily excursion tips were very helpful. All staff in the breakfast restaurant are very, very kind, polite, and professional. The breakfast is so fresh and delicious. We ate at the Michelin Star restaurant and also at the Mediterranean bar, and again, the staff are very nice and professional. Although there wasn't anything with the food but I expected more given how excellent the rest of the hotel is. The pool area is very nice and tranquil and the lady at the pool (sorry we forgot her name) is so lovely and kind and makes you feel very special and looks after everyone so professionally. She makes amazing lemon spritz! You must try their olives. They are absolutely delicious. Overall, this place is absolutely incredible, and I 100 per cent recommend it to anyone who is planning to visit Ravello or Amalfi Coast. Thank you all for the incredible people at Villa Hotel Cimbrone for giving us this unforgettable memory.

The restaurant (and hotel) is tucked away from the Villa Cimbrone Gardens-- which are exquisite. The walk to the gardens and hotel is well worth the many steps to get there (not recommend walking for the disabled). Our lunch was great--expensive but worth the price. My wife and I recommend walking through the gardens first but either way it's a wonderful and stunning place. Based on our service, I will stay at the hotel if I ever get the chance to visit Ravello.

Although the room and gardens are amazing, the service is not to standard. With so many great places on offer in the area, don’t waste your money or time staying here and go where you also have great service! If you like this Villa, just pay and visit the gardens. We are in a top tier room and can’t even manage a reservation at the restaurant!! Never have I received such terrible service from any hotel, let alone a highly rated one. Would not recommend and won’t be back.

Gotta double check everything - broke our trust. It was an amazing stay up to the point we left. Great staff, food, rooms are terrific. All the things. When it came time to leave we were assured to leave our bags in the rooms and they said - don’t worry we will get it back to your bus. My wife was concerned that they mixed the bags with another family but - we trusted the process with their ticketing system. There was a bag we did not recognize in our lot and flagged it. They took that bag away. They did all the loading up. So - of course - they lost one of our bags. They denied any fault and put the blame on us. 3 hours and 150 euro later the bag was back. And yep - for a short trip - dealing with this was terrible and angering. It could have been better if the manager was more sympathetic. Instead all the blame was on us. He said “we never make mistakes with bags” and believe me - if we had thought we were at fault we would have owned up. But whenever I hear the phrase “we never make mistakes on …” I think of a fragile house of cards where staff are encouraged to lie to protect their own mistakes vs lose their jobs over “making the first mistake”. That’s what I think of. I also see the other negative comments and see how their tendency is to put the blame onto the guests (after a typical ‘thank you we take your comments seriously’ non-comment) rather than see the growing problem that they have. To the manager - yep - the way that you handled and escalated the situation got me angry in the moment . I’m very sorry about that and offer sincere apologies to you about what I said about the situation and what you should do to your mother as a result. I’m glad I got to practice my Italian but it was insensitive. Please be well. Mir.

Elegant hotel in a fabulous setting and a courteous and helpful staff that was both gracious and kind. One of the very best hotel experiences I have ever had
