Honestly, it was like coming home to 1978! It was great. The room was very small, for wee thin 1970s people, and the bath was tiny. Everything was nice and clean. Not everything worked, mind you and they had screwed a bottle of soap to the wall which you just couldn't reach if you were in the bath. A bit bizarre. I found having to pre-authorise a credit card after having paid for my room - there are no mini bars - really quite irritating. They didn't tell me that they wanted me to do this before I arrived, can't see it stated in any of their literature. Presumably they reckon that their clientele are a bit rough and aren't to be trusted. How hospitable! I suppose that it IS in Renfrew. We ate dinner, it wasn't dear, my food was nice but my wife's wasn't. Breakfast was ok. My wife travels for business a lot and reckons it was a good meal of its type. I couldn't get over the very slack service - someone who came later actually gave up waiting to be seated and walked off muttering under his breath. The bread for the toast was stale, the tattie bread was made of cardboard, there weren't any condiments out, they had to be ordered, the orange juice was orange and could be described as juice but it was mostly water. The hot buffet was quite nice other than the tattie bread. The pastries were simply inedible. This isn't especially dear if you book ahead and it's fine for what it is. it'd be much improved by another member of staff on duty at breakfast and a bit of quality control.
