Travelodge Retford Markham Moor

Nice and friendly staff

Another amazing stay with Travelodge this time at Markham Moor. Staff were lovely quiet location always clean and comfortable. Ideal location for me only 5 mins drive to get to theatre.

The hotel was very tidy. Well maintained and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The KFC next door was handy, it was ideal for an overnight stay

This hotel is rather difficult to find, especially in the dark, as it's hidden behind a KFC on the northbound side of the motorway. Our sat nav didn't take us there. Once you get there, however, it's fine. The usual basic Travelodge which is functional and ideal for an overnight stay at a good price. We were at the back of the hotel, overlooking fields and it was extremely quiet with no road noise at all. The staff here were all very helpful and friendly, especially Sarah, who went out of her way to find us some wine glasses. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Would be greatly improved by the provision of glasses in the bathroom and a small table/ coffee table in the bedroom. Lighting is also too dark to read by.

Having arrived late from Corfu, I found myself very tired and anxious due to crazy traffic and terrible weather. Arrived at Gatwick after long delays.. It was the first time I had taken my husband outside of Greece since his Alzheimer's diagnosis. We were heading to county Durham. I found this Travelodge when stopping for fuel. I went to reception to enquire about a room. Thankfully they had a room but I had to book online. That was a pretty crazy concept for me when I was already standing in the reception. However the very lovely member of reception staff offered to help me book it on my phone. She was a very empathetic young lady, genuinely wanted to help me. I was feeling overwhelmed by the time I arrived and she allowed me to feel safe, taken care of. Such a kind person. We stayed in a very clean room, extremely comfortable beds, and slept well before we set off again around 4 am. Personally I feel the staff make a huge difference to how the experience feels. This young lady made a huge difference to our UK visit.

The Hotel was well signposted and easy to find. I parked close to the entrance (no charges), and was warmly greeted when I arrived by the receptionist. My room was spacious, clean and aired. Bathroom had a bath with shower over. Bed was comfortable and clean. There was plenty of space for luggage, clothes hanging and shoe storage. During my stay the staff who I met were all friendly, asked if I was happy with everything and I felt assured that they were available and cared that I had a good experience during my stay. Convenient location for my visit, I went to Sherwood Forest, Edwinstowe and Southwell.
