Hotel 2 Bintang di Reykjavik

I really liked this place, a friend recommended it and it didn’t disappoint. it was very clean and the staff helpful and nice/always smiling. I chose a 6-bed room and made a lot of girl friends in one week staying there! It’s close to the city centre and it has a lovely view on the church (not all the rooms I reckon!) . It was warm inside and given my long stay they offered fresh towels/bed sheets which I refused since I was mostly out all day. I’m not sure I liked the fact a male would take care of the turndown service since because of that I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping or lying down in my pj or underwear, maybe being that a female dorm I would’ve sent a lady to knock first and THEN anybody else, but it wasn’t the end of the world! I’ll surely book here should I visit Reykjavik again!

We had a lovely stay at the Freya Guesthouse! The family suite was larger than I thought it would be, the beds were very comfortable (even the pull out sofa that my son stayed on) and the never ending Nespresso was much appreciated! The location was great! we could see Hallgrimskirkja from the courtyard outside our suite; bakeries, restaurants, shops, and the rainbow road were a 10 minute walk (or less) away. This was close to everything, but not too close so that we could still go to sleep at a reasonable hour. We were there over a weekend and it was very quiet! Ingo was great and very helpful - they even provided us with bandaids for my son after a minor scrape:) Would absolutely stay again.

Check-in was pretty smooth. I was allocated the room just above the main entrance as such, it can be quite noisy whenever people get in or out of the hostel with the door slamming and some vibration felt! The bathroom and wc are fairly clean and tidy. Very cosy common area to mingle and make new friends. Kitchen has all the basic necessity. I especially like the small area right outside my room where i can have a light meal and nice view of the surroundings. Bought the unlimited bus rides ticket via the Klappid app for travel within the Reykjavik capital city and bus svc 12 is just few steps away. If time permits, you can even walk to the coastal area for sight-seeing. Overall, i am very satisfied with my 8 nights stay at Laekur hostel!

Great hotel for location. Only 5-10mins away from Hallgrimskirkja (Modern Cathedral) which is a great reference point. Only 10 mins walk into the central area of Reykjavik. 2 mins drive to one of the main highways (No. 49). I stayed in Room 7 located in the loft, which was very spacious, comfortable, clean and warm. I only required a single room and was given a room with 3 single beds, so worth noting for a small group. There was a sink in the room. The shared shower room was next door which again was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was included in my deal which was a standard continental selection. Ideal for making up a cheeky little sarnie for when out and about. Most importantly, the two hosts were very polite, happy and welcoming. Overall, Ideal hotel for a short stay 😁.

We stayed here for one night when we first arrived in Iceland, and for another one night stay just before we left Iceland a week later! So I can honestly say that we would go back, in fact, we *did* happily go back! The hostel is clean and comfy and the staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Late check-in for one of our visits was super easy too. They do a breakfast with a good range of nice food - continental breakfast style. The rooms are maybe a bit variable - one night we were in a basement twin room that was quite basic, but the other night we were in a beautiful studio room. The hostel has several buildings on the same street, so I suppose it’s just luck of the draw which is available when you book, but both of them were clean and comfy, so no complaints. I’d also say the price was good value - obviously Reykjavik is generally quite expensive but I couldn’t find a better deal than this. The location was great too, on a quiet street just a few minutes walk into the centre of the touristy area in Reykjavik.

Low price room are two small for two persons. The twin beds too are closed together. There is no space to turn around for packing stuff. No windows, no shampoo or shower gel, only soap provided. Overall impression is not good.

Fasadnya sangat kecil, hampir tiada fasad, sebaik sahaja anda memasuki pintu terdapat tangga. Di tingkat dua terdapat bar dan restoran, di mana anda boleh makan, dan kaunter penerimaan tetamu juga ada di sana. Bagasi boleh disimpan secara percuma di tingkat dua, tetapi ia adalah kotak penyimpanan di ruang tamu tanpa kunci. Mungkin bos fikir tiada siapa yang akan mengambilnya. Tingkat tiga dan empat adalah tempat penginapan, dan terdapat banyak bilik mandi dan tandas di setiap tingkat. Tiada bilik air dan tandas di dalam bilik. Terdapat juga dua mesin basuh di tingkat empat. Kosnya adalah kira-kira dua atau tiga euro satu masa. Terdapat kabinet di setiap bilik, tetapi tidak ada kunci. Terdapat beberapa soket di dalam bilik, dan setiap katil hanya mempunyai lampu, tetapi tiada soket. Pada asasnya terdapat sebuah meja kecil di dalam bilik. Semasa mendaftar keluar, keluarkan sarung bantal, cadar dan cadar di dalam beg kitar semula lorong. Di setiap tingkat di tingkat tiga dan empat, terdapat dapur dengan periuk dan kuali yang lengkap, peti sejuk, dsb., untuk memasak. Tiada syampu gel mandian, tetapi ada tuala kertas tanpa had. Saya tidak menemui pengering rambut, tetapi saya tidak bertanya juga. Tingkap koridor boleh terus melihat laut. Walaupun bar di tingkat dua sangat bising pada waktu malam, kalis bunyi biliknya bagus, dan ia tidak boleh didengari sama sekali. Di samping itu, Ctrip berkata bahawa ia akan membayar cukai dan yuran di kedai, tetapi bos tidak mengatakan apa-apa mengenainya. Secara keseluruhannya ia cukup bagus, meninggalkan sejumlah wang untuk saya di Iceland.

Very basic but very good value. Great location right next to the famous church everything in walking distance. Breakfast is included and had a great selection. This alone with save you 20-30$ a day! I recommend upgrading to a room with a microwave kettle cutlery and sink so you can get some food from Bonus. The downers. It's cold especially when you go to use the shower / bathroom which is shared. I thought it would be shared with another room but it looks like it's for all 7 units. The window is always open and someone keeps the back door open to outside. I kept having to close it. Reception is in the breakfast area which is in another building Guesthouse Aurora which is a few houses over so be prepared to get your boots and coats to walk over. Alot of stairs and up and down in case this is a challenge for you. Lastly it can be loud due to the closeness of the other rooms and guests. Also my room was on the street side so it can get loud there as well. All in all for the price it is great value for this city. It's nothing fancy and perfect if on a budget (or cheap like me)!g
