Hotel berhampiran Reptiland, Riva del Garda

Easy to get to by car but close to the pedestrianized centre. Fantastic staff. Comfortable and colourful room with plenty of sockets. Nice large shower - in room 1 it's next to the balcony door, so make sure you draw the curtains! Great position with lots of restaurants nearby and a supermarket just around the corner. Underground parking was a huge plus. Fairly good choice of food for sweet or savoury breakfast with freshly cooked eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly made coffee available. Brunch was also a good weekend option with bagels, pancakes etc. Very little plastic packaging around and it was nice to find glass bottles of water in the room upon arrival.

Hotel with nice vibes in a good location. Close to beach. Ok breakfast. Welcoming and friendly staff. Parking right outside the hotel. We stayed 1 night but wanted to stay longer. Seems like a popular hotel, recommend to book in advance. Really enjoyed our stay - will return.

We had a lovely week at this small but superb hotel. Set in a quiet area just back from the lake the hotel has 20 rooms and 20 parking spaces which is amazing for a hotel on Lake Garda. The staff were so friendly and helpful too. We chose the Full of Life room which came with a nice balcony and as we booked direct with the hotel we had free use of the minibar. As it was 30 degrees when we were there we were very pleased to have air conditioning in our room which we could adjust to suit ourselves. The included breakfast was amazing: eggs and bacon; a variety of bread and rolls; cold meats and cheeses; a range of fresh fruit, juices and cereals; pastries, croissants and jams; delicious cakes; teas, coffees and fizz. Were we impressed - you bet we were!

I stayed as part of a coach tour with Leger and as it was a last minute change of hotel I didn't expect much. HOWEVER - It was a fabulous hotel , great room with extensive in room refreshments including a coffee machine. Mood lighting in the shower- great fun! The food was incredible proper restaurant food and very Italian the breakfast was extensive with lots for those with dietary needs. The staff were very very good. We arrived late and were served a delicious meal while our bags were whisked up to our rooms by staff who had stayed late to accommodate us. Throughout the stay staff were great the breakfast lady deserves special mention, nothing was too much trouble and she smiles and greeted everyone. I'd love to go again. It is a way from the lake but we had no free time to walk there so didn't affect us. If they got some mugs and milk jugs for the Brits who like a decent cuppa it would be lovely. An English speaking TV channel would also be nice.

On arrival we were allocated our room and we asked about where we could go for lunch, we were told that everything in the area was shut and the only option was the pool bar, this was actually not true. We then went to our room we were really disappointed, the room was very dated and we had a view of scaffolding outside, our balcony was also over looked by at least 6 others. I had asked for a view of the lake but when we got to the hotel we quickly realised that there isn't a view of the lake. We asked to change rooms and to be fair we were offered another room to look at. This room was marginally better so we took it. Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful but most were not very helpful at all and most of the time there was no one sat on reception because they were outside having a cigarette. It didn't help that there wasn't a TUI rep at out hotel (not the hotels fault I know). We had to find everything out about the area ourselves, there is nothing in your room giving you any information about the hotel or the area. There is a shuttle bus that takes you down to the main village of Torbole at 9am and 10am and picks you up again at 4pm (we only found this out when we asked). You can walk but its is incredibly steep and feels like more than 2km. Again I had to ask about this, but reception can give you a bus pass which means you can travel free on the bus in the local area, the buses run much more frequently, reception have a copy of the timetable and on request also let us have a copy of the ferry timetable. We wanted to hire a car but that was near on impossible and as for taxis, they are very few and far between. This hotel is very remote and due to the transport issues/buses only run until a certain time, you couldn't go out at night which was really disappointing. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the main bar man was very happy and friendly. We actually didn't rate the food very much. Breakfast is probably one of the worst we have ever had, felt very much aimed at the German guests. There was never any scrambled or fried eggs ready when we went up and I could never find the lady who was cooking them. Most of the breakfast didn't get replenished when it ran out. Dinner is chosen at breakfast time from a menu offering 4 different options, some of the food was good, some of it was rubbish and not really what i would expect from Italy, most of the time we would eat out at lunch time and just have the buffet salad for dinner. The hotel shut off the aircon halfway through are stay it was still quite warm at night and the rooms are quite stuffy, we asked if they had any fans and were told no, we slept with the patio door open but there was noise from the road. This is a moan about TUI now, if you do go to this hotel book with Jet2 and not TUI, Jet2 were at the hotel 3 times a week and did a welcome meeting for their guests. Personale molto cortese e disponibile, ampia scelta per la colazione e rifornito continuamente il buffet, camera adatta alle nostre esigenze, abbiamo soggiornato per 3 notti, per una gita fuori porta, durante il giorno stavamo fuori e la sera si rientrava in hotel, un po' alta la temperatura del riscaldamento, ben pulita. Ubicato vicino all'uscita dell'autostrada di Rovereto Sud, a 20 minuti da Riva Del Garda e a 30 minuti da Trento.
