There are many 5 ⭐️ choices in Rome. We believe we made the best choice for us because of the personalized service and location of the hotel. I first chose this property because of its DECOR - a more contemporary vibe while maintaining historical Roman elegance (over its sister hotel de La Russie or its neighbour Hassler). Its LOCATION is hard to beat - at the top of the Spanish Steps just next to the Hassler. It is a 5 minute walk to all the high end shopping and 20 minute walk to Villa Borghese and its vast gardens (def worth a visit for Bernini’s sculptures IMO). The grounds of those gardens are a nice respite from the 4 million tourists a month who visit plus the locals. I had forgotten just how busy Rome is. TRAFFIC is nuts - going anywhere seems to require 40 minutes but taxi (very hard to get ) or UBER (less hard to get if you order a bigger car and very expensive ). Uber from colosseum at night - $50 CAD. Just plan to walk if you can. PERSONAL SERVICE - I find that dealing with the CONCIERGE sets the tone of our experience with a hotel. The concierge at this property is EXCELLENT. It started with planning and written communications with Simona (prompt and well done) and while on property, all of the team knew our name and provided thoughtful personal attentive service, particularly Ben and Laura. They each wanted to ensure our days were great. Reservation tickets were prepared for us for each day, with reminders sent to the room. Other than a miscommunication and misbooking at the spa, all services were well delivered. Breakfast staff were excellent. Food was good. Lovely venue in the garden. SPACE -Roman’s do not have the same sense of space as most North Americans. They are used to sharing space. I and other guests found the property and room smaller than expected. I ultimately sprung for a junior suite for more room because I didn’t think we would be happy six nights in 35 square meters deluxe room. I found the junior suite to be just enough room for two who do not travel light (four luggage’s). They kindly upgraded us to a jr suite with a patio. The room was thoughtfully well appointed with good tech, large bathroom and small walk in closet. Drinks or a meal at CIELO is a must at sunset - views are stunning. Service very good. SPA - we both had amazing massages. The facilities are very good - steam room, sauna, mineral salt room, and hot tub. FOOD - all food we had was excellent - room service to breakfast to snacks and the one dinner. OVERALL an excellent stay. The price point is extraordinary and you will probably find the room small for what you’re paying but such are the going rates for Rome and the rest of the property - particularly the personalized service - made the stay worthwhile. This is a very well run property. OTHER TIPS: Vatican early morning private tour with Florentina was excellent. Night time colosseum tour (max 25 people) was amazing on the moonlight night. Taverna Trilussa is the best restau
