Very disappointing experience. Unacceptable poor hygiene and ineffective service!
I had a two-night reservation at Hotel Impero Roma. On the second morning, I found a bed bug in my bed. This is a serious hygiene issue — finding one strongly suggests there may be more. Bed bugs can cause significant problems for travelers if brought home, leading to expensive and time-consuming treatment.
I immediately informed the hotel. They offered either a room change or a refund for the second night. Since I no longer felt comfortable staying, I checked out that same morning and requested a refund for the unused second night only. I did not ask for a full refund.
It has now been several days, and I still have not received the refund. Trip.com informed me they contacted the hotel, but the hotel said the weekend delayed their response. It is now midweek, and there is still no resolution. The refund process has been extremely slow and frustrating.
The facilities are also very old, with broken walls and damaged furniture. I tried to be understanding, as Rome is an old city, and I can accept vintage charm — but hygiene is non-negotiable. Bed bugs are unacceptable.
I am still waiting for the hotel to process the refund and handle this matter responsibly.
