It was a little surprising to find such a well designed and appointment bed and breakfast in the middle of an authentic village. The on-site manager was amazing and made sure that we were comfortable and well fed the entire trip (including organizing a meal in the home of a local villager). The design aesthetic is beautiful, the windows wrapping the entire building give unparalleled views. The breakfast is simple but well prepared and filling. It features rice noodles, fresh fruit, hard boiled and fried eggs and a savory broth.
The hiking nearby is a little fake? So come to be relaxed and enjoy the slow life of a 500+ year old community. See still in-tact wells, bridges, and granaries that have supported this community that entire time. The cloth dyeing business nearby is a fun excursion and was probably the highlight of our trip. Meet the owner who is a woman who left academia to empower local women in the art of dyeing fabric and creating small businesses.
