The hotel is located just outside the historic centre of the village. Some of the rooms offer very nice views of the town. It is big and has ample (free!!) parking. We had a family room that was spacious. It did not have separate rooms so you sleep with the kids in one big room. With small children this is a challenge sometimes. I gave service two stars because I found some things a bit old fashioned; they have a sauna but you have to pay extra to use it. There are charging facilities for your electric car but to use it you have to pay the hotel € 30 just to switch it on… Why not add a little to the room charge and offer your services free of charge? That is the way I think a modern hotel should go forward. The bathroom was rely tiny and basic! You can be in there with one at a time, be careful not to bump in to stuff! For a four star hotel it could have been a bit more luxurious. There is a shower that was oké. The beds were nice, great breakfast and the hotel was clean and quiet. A good stopover on our way to the Alps but the hotel has a bit more to offer if they change some of the policies!

Arrived via train from Wurzburg around 10.45am and was allowed to check in by a kind plump lady, room 206. Avoid this room in the summer as its directly above the night entrance of the hotel. No problem in the winter, lucky us! Room was smaller than it seems (22sqm), twin beds so close to each other, safe, small minibar, fan, TV, bathroom with a tub. When booking, breakfasts was 16.50 euros each, cheaper than 18.50 during check in. We are not breakfasts people, so avoided. Common areas are nice, modern with an elevator. Facade was made to look like half timber but it seems to be purpose built, concrete building. Why we rated it 3 stars was because of a lack of a kettle for the cold winter. They offered a thermos flask instead but its a chore to go down to the Restaurant every-time the thermos is empty! When asked about the bus for Dinkelsbuhl, the same plump lady spent 3-4 mins to check on her computer then told me to check by myself …so much for a 4 stars hotel! We found a 8.29am bus but waited 20 mins in vain! So took a taxi to Dinkelsbuhl for 100 euros instead! See my review for 3 stars Hotel Piazza in Dinkelsbuhl. The greatest asset of this hotel has to be its location, probably the closet hotel within the walls to the train station, 10 mins walk with no luggage. Add 2-3 mins more if with luggage. Overall, our 3 nights at this hotel was fine but we had expected more for the price we paid for a 4 stars hotel.

This hotel is located in easy walking distance to the old town of Rothenburg. For travelers that arrive by train it is extremely convenient, as it is right across the rail station. A supermarket is across the road, which is convenient for the traveler. Parking is available for free. Check-in is easy. The rooms can be noisy if they face the busy road in front. This is an older establishment, and the guest may face a few surprises: there is a minuscule washroom( toilet and shower; the washbasin had a crack and was in the bedroom.) The fob to open the door can be cantankerous: the door sticks, and you have to apply it twice, before you get the door to open. We realize that it is difficult to retrofit an older house, but scuffed walls do not leave a good impression, and a lick of paint would improve the appearance. Breakfast has a good variety of foods to send you into a great day of exploring. Due to the convenient location we can recommend this place to travelers.

This hotel was amazing. The owner was lovely, she was incredibly friendly and hospitable and gave me a cookie for my onward journey. Rooms are clean. Well situated but not in the midst of the noise. The breakfast was lovely - a great selection of food. I even had dinner there one night - the prawns were particularly good. Highly recommend.

This hotel has an exceptionally pretty frontage and an excellent location in the heart of Rothenburg, itself a very pretty town.
But beware. I turned up and my room was not in the hotel, but in a building 3 minutes walk away WITHOUT AIR-CONDITIONING! In temperatures of low 30's and high humidity, not funny.
I was exceptionally lucky and eventually!! was able to move in, pay €20 and get aircon. For a 4 star hotel, this is not acceptable.
Some staff were very stern faced, but others bubbly.
Evening meal quality was good, though pricey.
So be careful.
The opticians, by the way, opposite the bank 1 minute walk from the hotel towards the square we're so kind and wonderful by helping one of our friends fix the arm of broken spectacles. Thank you.

Lovely hotel just outside of the old town, close to the station and from my room I had excellent views of the city walls. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Bed was comfortable (despite only being a single bed), and the room was small but very cosy. Breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice. The only slight negative I had was that the pillow could have been a bit thicker, but that's only a minor point that doesn't detract from a really great stay

The Hotel is exactly in the middle of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The house is like a castle with paintings on the wall. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. We had the superior room with balcony and the view was awesome. Rothenburg is a very romantic city. We had a wonderful stay

羅滕堡這個酒店分配給我們的房間差不多相當於這個酒店的最好位置了吧，在酒店這些房間中處於最高的位置，落地大窗，視野開闊，近處有老房子，遠處又面向起伏錯落的田園，房間非常大，衞生間也特別大，從衞生間看，設施可能有點老，巨大的浴缸甚至讓我想起在國內一些小地方里麪套房的設計，但是窗外的無敵風景分明顯示着異域的情致。酒店是個老建築，得上百年了，鑰匙都是老物件，沉甸甸的，古樸，特別有味道，然後樓下的酒吧餐廳也錯落有致，但是我們去的淡季吧，沒什麼人。這個酒店的位置也是無敵了，就在市政廳登高遠望的那個塔的下面，市政廳廣場旁邊，挨着頗為值得一逛的聖誕禮物商店，什麼餐廳啥的周邊都有，簡直不能再好的位置。就是沒有停車場，可以上下行李，但是停車要停到附近可以停車的地方，機器繳費，我去的時候人不多車不多，也很方便。非常好的體驗，值得滿分。

What a beautiful hotel! Although we didn't have one of the ”prettier” rooms, the staff more than made up for it. Staff was friendly, efficient - even helping to park my car after Apple Maps ran me into a closed road. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Note: no air conditioning in room, and a very European shower (my daughter turned the bathroom into a swimming pool).

Magical! We stayed in room #1 which lead out to a garden. Although its shared we had it all to ourselves to sit in outside and enjoy the sunshine. The hotel has an exceptional location away from the busy tourist scene, built into the medival wall. The cellar is from 1142! The staff were super - especially Otto, the owner's father, who is a pleasure to chat with. Breakfast is stunning overlooking the valley. Couldn't ask for more!

Excellent breakfast downstairs, close and affordable parking, hosts responsive to emails. (I emailed in German but they also speak English.) Great restaurants nearby. Highly recommend!

Yyukifumi年代を感じさせる施設なので、レトロな雰囲気は良かったです。仕方のない事ですが、日本の感覚で宿泊すると民宿にきた印象でした。部屋からの眺望は最高です。天気にも恵まれ、朝焼けと、綺麗な谷状の風景、民家の煙突からの煙。忘れられない思い出になりました。
それ以外は好印象で、6人で2部屋予約しましたが、3部屋に分けてくれました。従業員の対応も笑顔で優しく、言葉が通じなくとも親切に対応して下さいました。
朝食はとても美味しく、適度な種類数で満足ですし、何より食堂からの眺望が最高でした。

PPengguna TetamuI love this hotel. Location is few minutes walk to the centre and 2 mins from train station by taxi. The hotel's history speaks for itself from the decor and the building. While the room is not those swanky modern decor, it is traditional and huge with a settee and table and a nice welcome card from the hotel. Just like staying in your favorite grandma's house. Comfy and adequate with all the usual hotel amenities. The room opens to a verandah with a good view of the surrounding area and one can hear the church bells ringing which makes my stay more authentic as if I am transported back in time. The bathroom is clean and adequate toilettries and has good strong shower. The staff are polite and professional. Breakfast is adequate with the usual servings eggs, cereals, cheese, breads, fruits etc. And they have elevator to take up my large and heavy luggage. I had a nice stay and wished I could extend my stay but my itinerary is tight. Perhaps next time.

JJaneanneOWe booked this at short notice. We got an apt rather than a room for just the two of us which was more than adequate. Downstairs there were two single beds joined and two pull out couches upstairs. We were so impressed with the town and the accommodation that we stayed a second night. The owners also run the cafe just inside the gates so breakfast was serviced there. It consisted of pastries , breads, cold meats, cheeses yogurt, fruit salad, boiled egg and a choice of drinks. It was a lot of food! There was a private terrace outside the apt which you could sit and have a drink.

BBrian MStayed one overnight enroute to other locations. This is very much a vintage German gasthof run by an owner that very much cares about the place. It is not luxury but it is traditional. The location is excellent and the parking was nice to have. Everything you want to see in Rothenberg is within a few minutes. The town is why you come. I have been here dozens of times over a 30 year period and it never gets old. I reserved online last minute and while there was only one of me, the room was massive able to sleep 4 easily. I did not have breakfast but I am sure it would be good albeit simple traditional German (brot, cheese, jams, coffee, juice, meat, cucumber, tomato and yogurt...) To really communicate with the owner it is best to speak German. All in all, good stay and would stay again.

The room was spacious and just fine for our needs. Requested a room with A/C and was not disappointed. The desk staff were accommodating and friendly. The main gentleman seating people for dinner could have been a lot more friendlier. He was rather abrupt and several people wanted to sit in front of the hotel to enjoy their meal. He simply pointed to the Bier Garden with no explanation. The hotel is kind of funky with rooms situated on different levels and what seemed to be across connecting buildings. Many people were looking for they rooms and Mom and I got turned around more than once. The lift only went to one floor so we walked down one flight to walk across the building To catch the lift, then around a corner and up some steps back to the other building. I thought it was fun and gave the place old world charm.
