Hotel berhampiran Ile à l’orignal, Saint-Boniface-de-Shawinigan

Ce fût très bruyant les deux nuits, et côté commodité, il n'y a pas d'ascenseur pour aider avec les bagages, puis aussi, le téléphone dans la chambre ne fonctionnait pas. Nous avons dû appeler avec notre cellulaire pour rejoindre la réception.

L’hôtel Marineau est un établissement bien entretenu, les chambres sont propres et fonctionnelles. Nous avions une chambre rénovée au 1er étage. Le déjeuner inclus est sous la forme d’un buffet: pain, croissant, bagel, creton, oeuf cuit dur, yogourt, café, etc. très bien selon nous. Par contre, pour ceux qui préfère les repas chauds tels crêpes, bacon, saucisses, il n’y en a pas. L’hôtel est situé en face d’une station service et d’un McDonald et à 15 KM du parc de la Mauricie. Si vous recherchez un hôtel luxueux n’y allez pas, mais si vous recherchez un hôtel simple, propre et confortable, le Marineau convient très bien. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter.

Quel plaisir de découvrir ce petit ensemble de chalets lodges joliment posés le long de la rivière ! Endroit très accueillant et très apaisant ! Tables et fauteuils sont disposés sur les pelouses, tous les chalets sont équipés d’une terrasse et d’un barbecue. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le confort de notre lodge (le Chretien), spacieux et avec une excellente literie (même si les chambres sont assez petites). Magnifique vue de notre terrasse sur la rivière. Nous sommes allés dîner au bar restau du petit complexe : c’était excellent ! Poutines, tacos délicieux Une excellente adresse, la prochaine fois nous resterons plusieurs jours

I cannot say enough about this hotel & it’s employees. We originally planned to stay 3 nights to move our daughter into her dorm room (U of Ottawa), which was only a 5 minute drive from the hotel. Due to some complications with our daughter’s dorm room we ended up having to extend our stay for one more night….and then one more night after that. Despite having to extend our stay twice, the staff was extremely accommodating and while we did have to move rooms once (our fault), the staff made sure that it was as seamless as possible, allowing us to stay in our old room until the new one was ready. Since we booked our room through an online hotel booking site, rather than through the hotel directly, we normally would have had to check out & then come back later in the afternoon to check into our new room (again completely our fault and decision). Thankfully Abdul from the front desk arranged for us to stay in our current room so we didn’t have to go through that hassle. As for the rooms themselves, they are great, very clean, comfortable, spacious, plus having a full kitchen AND a washer & dryer in the room was a huge benefit. We’ve stayed in several other hotels that offer ‘suites’, but they didn’t have the amenities or space this hotel offers. Having on-site underground parking was a bonus, especially considering the limited parking in this area & that there are several restaurants & stores right outside the hotel. Furthermore, every staff member we encountered was extremely pleasant, helpful & never made us feel like we’re asking too much, whether it was asking for an extra coffee pack, directions/suggestions for restaurants or in our case moving room etc.,. The only thing we would change would be booking with the hotel directly, instead of using one of the online hotel booking sites as we unfortunately did. We didn’t save any money using the site & it would’ve made things a lot easier if we just booked directly with the hotel. We will definitely stay here again & would recommend this hotel.
