Chateau du Colombier

You do not want to miss this place! It is located in the countryside and a short 10 minute drive into San Malo. The staff, Nicholas and Sebastian, were very friendly and helpful in making recommendations for seeing the area. The Chateau is elegant and stately. It is great for relaxing or just exploring the gardens. And the breakfast prepared by Nicholas’ wife was the best in France! And as an added bonus it has an electric car charging station on the property.

We loved staying in this historic chateau with its beautiful common areas and surrounding park. Everyone who works there is very friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was delicious!

Excellent stay. Nicholas and Sebastian are very welcoming and helpful. It was a little tricky to find eventually resorting to the Google map on their websiteThe chateau is really lovely and not far from St Malo - ask them for restaurant suggestions. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable bed, a mini fridge with juice, water and a KitKat - I think they were complimentary but not sure as we only used the water. Breakfast was amazing, a selection of cereals, fruit, juices, hot beverages, breads, pastries, fruit, hot food….. we both slept really well didn’t hear anything at all. Would definitely stay again. St Malo is fun to wander around and we had a lovely day on the beach and we spent a day in Dinan which is really pretty - if you go down to the river you can catch a free bus back up on the far side of the bridge.

Wonderful place to stay, full of history and ambience. Could not criticise any part of our stay. The room was lovely and fully equiped, the bed was so comfortable and the welcoming 'gifts' were delightful.

Second time here and it was still as good as the first time. We were met on arrival by Sebastian who was superb. He showed us to our room which was excellent and later we met Nicholas, the manager, during dinner. We were made to feel so welcome by both before a wonderful dinner with wine. Breakfast was also superb. The grounds are amazing and well worth a stroll around. Just a short 15 minute drive to the ferry terminal and we will definitely be visiting Nicholas, his wife and Sebastian again very soon. Bravo to Hotel du Colombier.

Suberb, unpretentious Hotel in peaceful grounds and with excellent staff. Good location a short taxi ride to the walled town of St Malo. The staff went out of their way to make this a very good visit for us.

The property was utterly charming with the most lovely bedroom/lounge suite. Our host, Nicolas, was really courteous, attentive & respectful. It also helped that his English is so good as our French is only basic. A beautiful break away from home.

We arrived late and left early, which was a shame as we missed a full experience of this chateau. Our GPS system easily found the location and we were warmly welcomed by Nicolas, the host who was most informative pre-arrival with instructions for our late arrival off the ferry. We were shown to a comfortable, clean room and shown the breakfast area en route. The whole place was so quiet (we did not hear a soul) we felt sure that we were the only guests. After a good nights sleep and hot bath we arrived downstairs for breakfast and were amazed at how many other people were there. We had not heard a noise all night or morning. The breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing, including pastries, breads, juices, charcuterie, cereals, hot foods ( eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes), yogurts and extensive patisserie and hot drinks. Far more than we expected in a chateau. Another couple told us that dinner the previous evening had been delicious and plentiful. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay - and would return when we had more time to enjoy it.

We spent a most wonderful night at the Chateau including the imaginative dinner and spot on service and the nice breakfast. Top notch from beginning to end. We highly recommend and hope to return soon.
