We have stayed in beautiful hotels in a number of beautiful locations around the world, but none have been as good as La Toubana. We stayed in one of the sea view villas and this was simple but comfortable, in keeping with the feel of the hotel in general. The service in all areas of the hotel was exceptional and all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The setting of the hotel is gorgeous, laid out over a hillside leading down to a beautiful protected beach. While the path down to the beach is steep, there is a golf cart to take you back up and the staff are only too happy to do so. The food and drink are of a high standard, and this really was a holiday I could not fault in any meaningful way.

Guadeloupe is a bit off the beaten path for American travelers, so we weren't quite sure what to expect on our recent trip. But we were very pleasantly surprised by La Toubana. The grounds are beautiful, we loved our spacious villa accommodations, the restaurant was excellent, and the staff were extremely welcoming. The beach area, though not large, is designed in such a way that there is ample seating, and we spent many happy hours lying by the water, taking in the sun and the breezes. From what we could tell, La Toubana is definitely a step above the other hotels on Grande Terre, the part of Guadeloupe with large beach resorts. Combining a stay at La Toubana with a few days on Basse-Terre -- the more verdant half of Guadeloupe -- was, for us, the perfect way to experience this Caribbean island.

The room didn't have any water. And the staff said there was nothing they could do. Don't stay here! Its a beautiful property but when the toilet doesn't flush, there is no water for the shower and the staff lies repeatedly that it will be fixed soon you just have to find a new hotel to stay in.

An excellent location , stunning views , very friendly stuff , great breakfast, dinner - could be better , same for lunch . The beach is amazing , it has white sand . They got me a hair dresser to come to my room and they organized yoga for me . The tours were all booked through the hotel but it was Christmas week . Would come back again . I highly recommend it.

I discovered with wonder this incredible place which although it is a luxury hotel remains relatively accessible, it decorates the landscapes and the staff my particularly surprised I think of this young man of the name of "Baptiste" who marked me by his optimism his energy and his good will thank you very much I recommend this place and would come back for this magnificent welcome.

Beautiful, good service, helpful people, beech is super, the staff at the beach, Luna and Guillaum, is amazing. Good food. Really relaxing atmosphere. Nice. The outlook is spectacular. Five star for sure. The bungalow, 28, is really nice with a breathtaking view.

Great setting, patchy service, inflexible rules, may well be the best hotel in Guadeloupe (haven't tried any others) but resting on its laurels. Pros: Fantastic views, good if pricey main restaurant, generally friendly, very efficient concierge, good beach club and lunch restaurant. Lots of activities on offer through partners. Cons: Tired rooms - stayed in Ti Kaz 'Junior Suite' which was pretty small, shutters don't close and blinds not blackout, room not regularly serviced, staff don't reply to Whatsapps, hotel totally overrun on a Sunday due to very popular brunch full of external guests. Note: check-in team were VERY poor dealing with a delayed arrival despite warning in advance - no effort made to accommodate or move reservation. Don't rely on a late checkout if you leave on an evening flight. They will fob you off endlessly telling you to wait until the day and then just say no, all while pocketing the room rate you didn't use earlier.
