I would urge potential customers to avoid Budget car rental, La Linea, Spain (Gibraltar), I experienced spurious and erroneous damage charges after I had returned the car and back in the UK. Please ensure you take photos and/or an extensive video at the point of collection to ensure all pre-existing damage is captured....despite what they declare on the contract document because you will need it with this Company. It took several days after sending them a video that clearly showed the damage was pre-existing to get a refund of €1200 back on to my credit card. Unbelievably, at no stage did I receive an apology and then when I asked my case be forwarded to the CEO, the customer service agent refused !. I could not find the CEO's email address or I would have sent it anyway. I am aware that hiring a car in Spain is rather like the Wild West, so I booked with Budget thinking they were reputable brand. My belief now is that this Company, and at this location, deliberately understate pre-existing damage on the contract documentation so that they can bill customers for "extra revenue". Of course the responsibility then falls on the customer to provide evidence that the damage is pre-existing rather than Budget diligently and accurately recording all prior damage on the contract document. I expected better from Budget. Steer well clear !.
