Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Downtown San Antonio Riverwalk Area

There was nothing great or wrong about the hotel room. I arrived at night and wouldn’t recommend walking around that area alone in the dark . The listing states a $50 security deposit but I was charged a $100 deposit and trip.com customer service agent contacted the hotel on my behalf. I left at 11am and prior to leaving there was 2 separate knocks at the door to serve as reminders check out was at 11am. On the Charming side. Around at 11pm I decided to grab my self an ice bucket which was located on the first floor, after I got my ice bucket and headed towards my room a young mother sat on the stairs smoking a cigarette with her two lil girls. And as I passed I said to the girls “excuse me young ladys” as I got passed them, the young mother apologized and told her there was no need for an apology , smiled and continued on my way . I could hear one of the girls ask her mother why I referred to her as a young lady, the mother replied with because one day your grow up to be a beautiful lady. The lil girls laughed and laughed, which brought forth dad. Asking his family what was all the noise outside about? The girls said with excitement that their mother had said they would grow up to be beautiful … and don’t know what else was said because by that time I entered my room. But the sound of the two “young ladies” laughing and laughing, did make me feel better. When I woke, the day light revealed an industrial area of San Antonio TX I had never seen before. I would stay there again.

Beware hidden fees! Got a good price for the hotel on the ******* app. Got there and was charged $100 deposit (more than i originally paid for the room and I still need to confirm that charge falls off my statement), and another $10 nonrefundable "property fee" that i had already paid when booking. Single men sitting around outside of rooms (I was a traveling single Mom) and the smell of **** fills the air. The beds seemed clean, feet turn back when walking around without shoes. Someone elses hair tie around the handle in the bathroom. The hot water in the sink did'nt work (like no response when turned, nothing happens) and the stopper in the sink stays down so i had to pull it out (gross) to get the sink to drain. Some of the lighting didnt work. Over all, if you're looking for a cheaper alternative in San Antonio, there are better for less.

I was given a dirty room. Staff did not believe me and went to verify. Customer service was very poor. No Hi, hello, thank you, good bye. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

My stay was awful. The toilet was broken. The room was not very clean. The location was not very safe.

Staff was good and attend very well when request something .. place needs improvements. Refrigerator doesn't work. Found Small cockroaches in the room.

Riverwalk "area" is a joke. Not even walkable unless you're a track and field athlete. Also, a deposit was another hidden surprise. The front desk clerk was nice, though.

Staff were great! Kind of a sketchy neighborhood....staff recommended taking an UBER as opposed to walking anywhere.

I was only there one night for a biz appt the next morning. The property and lobby were a bit dicey and I was worried about my car getting broken into overnight (I was the only check in at 7pm), but more guests arrived, so it was less scary. The rooms turned out to be a lot nicer than I expected. With all the guests there that night, my room was surprisingly quiet, comfortable and well-appointed with a large mini-fridge, small microwave oven, multi-channel TV, free internet and a large, comfortable bed. P.S, There's a really good Chinese restaurant only a block away.
