Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk to Chinatown and downtown. The breakfast is also very good, and we even got tens of dollars in credit upon check-in.

Is St. Rigas desperate for money or something? Three hours after I checked out, they charged my credit card another $400! I called the hotel, and they said it was because I 'smoked'! But I explained why: I did burn incense in the room to make it smell better, every day for three days. I was told that burning incense wasn't allowed, but if that's the case, the hotel should have informed me immediately, not charged $400 from my security deposit account without my knowledge after I'd left. Including the $600 deposit I paid at check-in, they kept a total of $1000, all because I burned incense during my stay! And then I was told I could 'talk to our clean lady'? Can a cleaner decide a hotel's charges and policies? Unheard of! It sounds like they're just looking for an excuse to pocket money. If this were a 2-star hotel, I might understand, since they'd be 'desperate for money'! But for a 5-star hotel to come up with such a ridiculous reason for a charge is truly a disgrace to their 5-star integrity! So, be cautious when booking this hotel, and even more cautious when handing over your credit card at check-in if you don't want to be charged unfairly! Services: terrible! Facilities: old and worn.

Very friendly staff but in room dining is a bit expensive and there is no swimming pool

I chose the Ritz-Carlton for both the start and end of my West Coast road trip, and it truly lives up to its five-star-plus reputation: the environment, the bedding, and the service. Even the complimentary bottled water tasted better than what you'd buy at the supermarket.

The room facilities and service were both very satisfying.

Hotel with over 100 year-old history. Great location five minutes from Chinatown in 10 minutes from Union Square. This is a pet friendly hotel so please beware if you are not particularly fun of dogs this may not be the hotel for you. There is no breakfast buffet to our surprise.

Overall, it's pretty average. The breakfast, whether ordered from the hotel or a nearby breakfast joint, was similar in taste and price. The mattress was comfortable, and the location is quite close to Chinatown, right near the Inception movie filming spot.
