Es war sauber, für den Preis eine ganz gute Lage und Ausstattung. Das Zimmer war okay, kein renoviertes Zimmer natürlich, aber das Bett war groß und bequem.

POSITIVE: Check in was easy - on our arrival day (Monday), we requested and received early (3 pm) check in (normal is 4 pm), which was helpful as Castro St. rush hour starts after 3 on weekdays. Didn’t have a problem with the access code mentioned in other reviews at check in or throughout stay. There’s a space right in front for easy loading/unloading. Note: if you have a car (we didn’t), parking is limited - the hotel recommends using SpotHero. To get an overnight (free) street space, you likely would need to find one up Castro or one of the cross-streets, which is doable but will take luck & time. Tip if you have a car: drop bags off, punch in access code and drop off in room. There are 4 rooms each on floors 2,3,4. Level 5 is roof lounge with excellent panoramic views (when not raining) couches and cozy fire pit. We booked a handicap accessible room (we needed two twin beds). Our room had a toilet/shower room with pocket door, sink with lighted mirror just outside pocket door, 2 twin beds, HDTV connected to wifi, 1/2 height wardrobe cabinet below TV, small fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, small table for meals/work, and terrace overlooking back of property. Terrace had a chair and small cube. Prior reviews indicate better to be in back of building on higher floor. We were in back - it WAS very quiet, peaceful - got great non-interrupted sleep. Plenty of nice restaurants, a really nice supermarket, pharmacy, a Starbucks, and shops within walking distance. There are some homeless but they’re friendly and respectful and we never didn’t feel safe. (One actually held door open when I went into Walgreens and hands were full.). Check out was easy - take photo of QR code, leave door hanger, vacate unit, building. We were asked in texts a couple of times if all was well on our stay. Never needed to contact customer support. FOR IMPROVEMENT: We only found out lobby bar not open Monday or Tuesday - after arrival Monday (and we checked out Wednesday morning.) Still, they gave us two drink tokens - which we will use if/when we return. Very limited counter space and no shelves - none in toilet/shower room, a little area on either side of sink, small table (see note about lighting below), a few sq cm on nightstand between beds(see note about lighting below), and top of wardrobe closet. Very few power outlets - there is a cluster of 4 with 4 usb slots on small table, one behind nightstand(see note about lighting below), 2 on wall between small table and wardrobe, 2 at door, 2 hopefully GFI protected (didn’t see reset button) at sink - so unless you travel with a power *****, you’re going to have to sequence what gets recharged when thru your stay, or leave phone/ipad etc. away from bedside - not road warrior desireable. Staff and owner are very lovely and welcoming people. Only there for one night and got upgraded to a bigger room without even asking! Beautiful garden, rooftop and location. Got to leave my bag after checking as my flight was later in the afternoon. All in all excellent!

Nice property with good character. The location is good for the Castro and takes about 40 mins to get to Pier 39 via public transport. The welcome was okay but brief. We were given one key to share and despite being promised a second key, this did not happen. We had a room on the front of the property which was a good size, although there was a TV and chest of drawers in the wardrobe which left very little hanging space. There was no view from the window as the trees in front of the property have grown tall and block the windows. There is a tram line which runs past the front of the property on Church Steet which can be handy. However, the trams are very noisy and run all day from very early, 7 days a week. We had practically no sleep during our time there. Breakfast was okay although, despite being advertised to be available from 07:30, it was not. We had lots of things planned during our stay and as the tram had woken us before 5am we were prompt to breakfast. The staff at breakfast were far from engaging. We were disappointed to see that some of the cling wrapped bread put out for breakfast was green with mould and despite pointing this out, the bread basket was not refreshed. Our room was not serviced in the 4 nights we were there and the fresh towels we asked for on day 3 felt reluctantly left outside the door during the day. At no point did any of the staff ask us if were were enjoying our stay or if our room was okay On check out we felt that they couldn't get rid of us fast enough. I would say that our stay at Parker Guest house was okay, but nothing special.

One week trip alone in this magic city SF. Union hotel is ideal for his location ( Mission / Castro) , direct with BART to airport. Staff are amazing and so nice. Rooms are small but clean and functional. Showers and toilets the same. I really recommend for cost-effectiveness!!!

We visited as a family of 5 from Ohio. I booked a suite which was a delight that had two bedrooms, living room and a kitchen. We got early check in too! The hotel is an older early 1900's hotel but has modern workings (LED TV, security key card door locks) but original decor. What was so cool was the details of life from 120's years ago...the hotel is filled with vintage photos in the public areas. The suite was clean, fresh linens daily, and hot showers. The free cafe breakfast is simple but ok with grab and go items. The hotel is in a very unique location at Golden Gate Park and walkable to neighborhood streets (Haight / Irving / Geary) and transportation just two blocks to downtown. Recommended to my friends too, who will come in March too.
