Charisma Beach Resort
4.1/56 Ulasan
This resort is a gem for it is not common to have backpacker-friendly places that offer the resort experience. Located right in front of Solangon Beach but when tide is too low for dipping, there is a swimming pool where you can hang out. There are hammocks too if you are in the mood for lounging. There's a restaurant serving food and beer. If you want options though, other resorts are within walking distance and accessible along the beach. Staff are friendly and ready to answer questions about boat schedule, tours and even laundry service (priced at Php60/kg). Most of their accommodation are cottages but one big room is converted into a dorm with shared shower and toilet that are kept clean. Room is well-ventilated but there are stand fans if you have low tolerance for heat. Unlike typical hostels though, they do not have outlets/light in each bed. Siquijor mostly operates on cash but this is one of few places that accept GCash.

Aloha Seaside Resort
4.4/58 Ulasan
The best value for money on a beautiful white fine sand beach in the Philippines. Plenty of quality places to eat within easy walking distance. Cool beachfront cafes with cheap ice cold beer. Crystal clear warm water to enjoy a swim all year round. Lots of interesting places to visit on a local tricycle. Rooms big and comfortable beds. Free filtered water. Great spa pool, children’s pool and swimming pool. Very helpful and cheerful staff. A perfect place to get away from the huge crowds in El Nido. Coron, Bohol and Boracay in particular. As a travel and tour operator for over 30 years, now retired, this is up there with the ideal family run resorts. Not too big and impersonal. Get there now as it will grow and be ruined by the huge crowds one day.
Infinity Sands Resort

We enjoyed a 2 night stay at Infinity Sands. We also visited their sister hotel, Infinity Heights, which I have reviewed separately. There were a few issues at this hotel, some of which were out of the hotels control. Others involve staff training suggestions. However, before I start, this place deserves the 5 Star rating I have given it. The wonderful staff, who tried so hard to make our stay pleasant, more than made up for any areas of concern. Firstly the room we had was spotlessly clean, large with a wonderfully comfortable King Size Double Bed. Tasteful furnishings. Lovely hot shower. For the price point it was exceptionally good value. We experienced both dinner and breakfast at the sea front restaurant. Each time the tables were spotlessly clean and set out nicely prior to our arrival. The breakfast is very good value at just less than 300 pesos including filtered coffee. Recommended. Service staff were polite, professional and very attentive. As a training issue, maybe they should pay a little more attention to their listening skills so that they deliver what a customer actually requests. I mean this as a constructive suggestion. Not a criticism. For example when ordering fried eggs for breakfast and then ( on one occasion) to receive omelettes , is not really appropriate. The chefs are clearly very talented and spend time with lovely dinner presentations but the food needs to be hot. Dinner, as husband and wife, in my view, means that main courses should be served together not 15 minutes apart. My wife has finished her, barely warm, spaghetti dish, before my main course even arrived. Not the best of situations but, having owned and operated restaurants myself in The Philippines, I know the value of staff training, particularly as regards multi tasking and timing of dish preparations. My main course was superb. Hot and very well presented. My last recommendation to the hotel management is to sit down and discuss with the bar next door, as regards their playing of late music late into the evening. It is supposed to finish at 10pm but on our second night went on until 11.30pm, albeit at a slightly lower volume. Overall this place is 5 Star for value, location and their wonderful and hard working staff.
Siquijor Eastern Garan Seaview Resort

This is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! It is the dirtiest and most DISGUSTING place I have ever had to stay in. There were dead bugs and droppings everywhere, the floors and walls were filthy with DIRT, the bathrooms were repulsive, and the beddings was dirty with bugs and hairs! Do not be deceived by the photos and false good reviews online, it is an utter scam! The owner was an ignorant and useless man who refused to help us at any point during our complaints when we arrived in the rooms. The receptionist took us to different rooms but they were all in exactly the same filthy state. We didn’t even spend another night there despite them refusing to give us a refund. After speaking to people in the area it has a reputation for being a terrible hotel to stay in and known for disappointing tourists. Please do not stay here, it was an awful experience and I hope they get shut down!!!
White Villas Resort
4.1/518 Ulasan
A small but welcoming resort with lovely spacious “beach villas” that had plenty of room for our family of four (ours had two large doubles and a single bed in it), and other room types available. It has its own section of the white sandy beach with hammocks, loungers and table seating all next to a lovely open air restaurant and reasonable sized pool. The bathroom in our villa was a little tired and the shower wasn’t great but it’s very clean and supplied with towels and toiletries. The food was okay, breakfast didn’t have a huge range but enough to keep us going for the 3 nights we were there, and the dinner menu was reasonable too and food was tasty. Not everything was always available but there are other eateries around so it’s ok if you don’t mind a short venture out too. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and you could tell they wanted to make our stay as lovely as possible. The one thing that was a little annoying at times was the resort next door and the neighbours playing music at a level that clashed with the restaurant music. Maybe because it was Christmas everyone was playing music but it got a bit much at times. There were signs up in White Villas asking to keep the noise down and respect the neighbours. I wonder if the neighbours needed a few of those signs too…!
