We stayed here because we came to Mexico City to visit the Pyramid of the Sun (which turned out to be closed). We figured it would be best to stay nearest to the Pyramid instead of having to travel an 1.5 hours to get there and then another to get back to a hotel in Mexico City. I picked this one because it was the best looking hotel this close to the Pyramid site. We stayed in the Executive Suite because it has a jacuzzi tub, which was very clean and worked wonderfully. The pool and kids playground was also closed so the tub in our room definitely came in handy. The whole hotel, including our room was extremely clean. The bed was very firm, almost no softness but it didn’t bother us too much. They didn’t have wash cloths instead they gave us these bath sponges which turned out to be nicer than I expected. We’re both extremely happy with our stay. Check in was easy and check out was even easier. We just turned in our key and we were done. The staff was courteous and nice. They don’t speak English and I think the woman at the front desk was concerned when we arrived because we don’t speak Spanish. I read some reviews that said the front desk wasn’t welcoming here but I think it was just the language barrier. We made an effort to speak Spanish and she made an effort to speak English and we felt very welcomed and accommodated. I think that made all the difference. It’s true there is no AC but we stayed here in the winter so it wasn’t hot or humid in the rooms. There was also a wall mount fan in the corner that worked very well. I’m assuming because of COVID business was very slow; it felt like we had the whole hotel to ourselves. We walked around the town a little and found a super market, similar to a Sam’s Club, not even half a mile from the hotel. There were also plenty of places to get food around including Domino’s. The locals are very nice and even though the town is not marketed to tourists, there are no shops or peddlers selling traditional souvenirs or anything like that, they liked talking to us. The best place we found to buy traditional trinkets are the independent sellers at the Pyramid of the Sun. The actual Pyramid is closed but the shops and sellers are still operating outside the gates. It was an overall great stay and I would definitely recommend this are and hotel.
